After they bade each other goodbye outside the coffee shop, with Jas assuring Lyse that they would get to the bottom of her problem and that she did not have to worry too much. The two friends walked off in opposite directions into the busy street.

As she walked to her car which was at the end of the block, Lyse had an eerie sense that soone was following her. She turned around and Joel who had been walking behind her turned away at a newspaper stand just in ti to avoid being caught by her.

He watched from the corner of his eye as she looked around and when she confird there was no one following her, she continued on her way.

Lyse told herself that she was just dealing with the trauma from being stalked recently.

Joel breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that she did not catch him but also wary because she had noticed that soone was following her. He slowed down so that he was far behind her but could still see the back of her head, he assud that his boss would not be pleased if Lyse found out that soone was following her based on his orders.

Lyse’s phone rang and she picked it up.

"Hello." She answered.

"How is my darling wife doing this fine morning, did you like the flowers i sent?"

She imdiately stopped and felt sweat break out on her forehead while her hands beca clammy and her insides twisted. She anxiously glanced around her again.

"Who is this?" She whispered fearfully.

"The husband you dumped for a wealthy old man." The voice answered and Lyse felt sick.

"Who are you?" She demanded, "what do you want!"

Just then out of nowhere, she felt a prick in her arm. "Ouch." She exclaid and slapped the affected part on her arm.

She turned around to see what had caused the pain but world suddenly started spinning and as she tired to steady herself, she was hit by a wave of dizziness that made her stumble.

She held her hands out to stabilize herself then tried to walk but she just fell to the ground, and in the haze of confusion she heard a man’s voice.

"Oh my gosh honey, are you okay? Don’t worry about her, she is with ."

Joel who was yards behind Lyse, saw a group of people gather ahead of him and he was suddenly unable to see Lyse. An uneasy feeling stirred in his belly and rushed forward through the crowd, not caring if Lyse saw him and to his dismay he could not find her.

He started to ask people if they had seen her but no one seed to have a clue. He ran to her car and saw that it was still parked there. With shaky hands he called Ethan to inform him that Lyse had disappeared off the streets, certain that this ti he was going to lose his job.

Levi was in the middle of a crucial board eting when Ethan, burst into the room, startling everyone.

"Sir, I have urgent news, I need to talk to you right now." Ethan panted, his face etched with worry.

Levi raised an eyebrow, wondering what it was that would have his assistant interrupt a eting he knew was very important.

"Joel just called sir. Your wife, she’s... she is missing." Ethan whispered.

Levi’s heart pounded as he absorbed the shocking news he had just received. He imdiately tried to call Lyse, but her phone went straight to voicemail. A wave of dread washed over him.

How was she missing? Had she run away or did soone kidnap her? Who would want to do so?

’Hold on, Bret was conveniently in the city and Lyse just disappeared, coincidence? Surely not.’

Without a second thought, Levi excused himself from the eting and rushed out of the building. He did not wait to be driven and instead jumped into the first car he got to, mind racing as he drove speedily to Bret’s hotel. He had a gut feeling that Bret was sohow involved, it could not just be a coincidence.

Bursting into Bret’s hotel room, Levi confronted his half brother. "Where is she, Bret?" he demanded, his voice low and nacing.

Bret looked up in surprise at Levi’s rude entrance and raised an eyebrow. "Has my little brother been snooping on ? Is this the kind of welco you are going to give ?"

"Stop trying to play gas and answer !" Levi who was at the end of his rope looked like a rabid animal with the veins on his forehead and throat threatening to pop.

Bret was taken aback by Levi’s reaction. "What are you talking about, Levi? Where is who?"

"Where is Lyse? What have you done with her?" Levi asked as he took a step closer.

Bret tilted his head to the side as he stared calculatingly at Levi. "Is there trouble in paradise already? Not even up to a month as a married man and you are already fucking up." He said patronizingly then shrugged. "I have no idea where your little wife is."

Levi did not believe a word that ca out of Bret’s mouth. "Don’t you play dumb with , Bret. I know you are behind this. You have always been jealous and obsessed with causing pain."

Bret’s facade crumbled, revealing a sinister smile. "Obsessed, huh? Maybe. But I am not the one who is looking for my lost bride, You are."

Levi’s anger ignited. He lunged at Bret, and struck him across his face. Damien, Bret’s right hand man took a step forward but Bret held a hand out to stop him then he looked at Levi.

"So little brother is finally ready to take on his big brother ehn?"

He suddenly punched Levi and soon their fists flying. The room erupted in chaos as the two n fought, fueled by years of animosity and mistrust. Both determined to put an end to their feud.
