Brett leaned back in his chair, a smug grin spreading across his face as he enjoyed the confusion on Levi’s face. He had waited for this mont for what felt like an eternity. Years of simring resentnt, of being overshadowed by Levi, of being denied the recognition he felt he deserved, had all led to this. Now, he finally had the opportunity to seize what he believed was rightfully his: control of Van Doren Group of companies.

"Well, Levi," Brett began, his voice dripping with false sympathy, "As I said, I am glad that you could finally join us. We have been waiting to deliver so... rather important news."

He gestured to the board mbers, who sat around the table, their expressions a mixture of apprehension and anticipation. "As you know, we have been discussing the future of the company," Brett continued, his eyes fixed on Levi. "And after careful consideration, the board has voted... to remove you from your position as CEO."

A collective murmur rippled through the room. Levi remained unfazed, his expression calm and composed. He had anticipated sothing like this. He had sensed the undercurrent of hostility, the carefully orchestrated setup.

"The board can vote on whatever they want," Levi said, his voice steady and controlled. "It does not change the fact that I hold the majority shares. Their vote is irrelevant, no one of you have enough power to remove from my seat."

Brett chuckled, a low, almost sinister sound. "Oh, but you see, Levi," he said, his smile widening, "things have... changed."

He reached into his briefcase and pulled out a docunt, placing it on the table in front of Levi. "I believe this will explain everything."

Levi picked up the docunt, his eyes scanning the legal jargon. As he read, his brow furrowed slightly. It was a transfer agreent, detailing the sale of a significant number of shares. Shares that had previously belonged to... Brandon. The shares were definitely larger than the amount his mother had offered Brandon.

"This... this is Brandon’s signature," Levi said, his voice laced with impatience.

"Indeed it is," Brett confird, his smile widening. "It seems your dear son has decided to... divest himself of his holdings in Van Doren group."

Levi’s gaze snapped back to Brett, his eyes narrowing. "And who did he sell them to?" he asked, his voice low and dangerous.

Brett leaned back in his chair, his expression radiating an air of triumph. "To , of course," he said, his voice smooth as silk. "As of this morning, I am the majority shareholder of Van Doren."

A stunned silence filled the room. The board mbers exchanged uneasy glances, their faces etched with surprise. They had clearly not been aware of this developnt.

Brett watched Levi’s reaction, anticipating a display of shock, of anger, of defeat. He had waited so long for this mont, to see Levi brought down, to finally have the upper hand.

But annoyingly, Levi’s expression remained unchanged. The rug was being pulled out from under his feet and his world was crumbling, he should be devastated. He simply continued to look at Brett, his eyes calm and steady, betraying no emotion whatsoever.

"Is that all you’ve got?" Levi asked, his voice even.

Brett’s smile faltered slightly. He had expected a stronger reaction. He had expected Levi to be devastated, to be crushed by this news. But he seed... unbothered.

"What do you an, ’is that all I’ve got’?" Brett thundered angrily, his confidence wavering slightly. "This is it, Levi. You are out, capise? You are no longer in control, I am."

Levi remained silent for a mont, his gaze fixed on Brett’s face. Then, a faint smile played on his lips.

"Chris," Levi said, his voice calm and clear.

The door to the conference room opened, and Chris entered. He carried a stack of files, his expression neutral.

Brett’s brow furrowed. He had not expected Chris to be here. He had assud that Levi would be completely isolated, completely unprepared for this takeover. He shrugged, if Chris wanted to also be humiliated, he would happily oblige him.

"Chris," Levi said, gesturing towards the docunt on the table. "Would you please confirm the validity of this transfer agreent?"

Chris nodded and picked up the docunt, quickly reviewing the details. He then looked up at Levi, his expression firm.

"This docunt is fraudulent, Levi," Chris said, his voice clear and confident.

"What do you an fraudulent!" Brett jumped to his feet, his face red as he stared down at Chris, wondering what his ga was while Brandon sat frozen before him, his expression portraying his fear.

"Those shares were never his, I did not accept to offer them to him. You tried to steal from ." Levi hissed

A collective gasp echoed through the room. The board mbers exchanged shocked glances, their faces etched with disbelief.

Brett’s smile vanished completely. His face flushed with anger and panic. He had been so sure of his plan, so confident in his execution. But now, it was all falling apart because Chris had been struck with a case of a good conscience.

"That... that does not matter!" Brett stamred, his voice trembling. "Brandon already signed and it is legally binding."

"Perhaps," Levi said, his voice calm and steady. "It would, if Chris had not inserted this clause in the docunt he signed."

He gestured to Chris, who placed another docunt on the table. It was the part that Levi had asked him to add to Brett’s original agreent, it clearly stated that unless Brandon was actually Levi’s son then he could not have any shares.

Brett stared at the docunt, his mind reeling. He had been tricked. He had been played. He had thought he had outsmarted Levi, but he had underestimated him.

The room fell silent once again, the tension in the air palpable. The board mbers looked from Brett to Levi, their faces etched with confusion. They had witnessed a dramatic reversal, a swift and decisive defeat for Brett.

Levi looked at Brett, his eyes cold and hard. "It seems to ," he said, his voice low and dangerous, "that you have made a grave miscalculation."

Levi gestured at Chris who handed him another docunt which he pushed towards Brett. "Also, I think you might want to look at that."
