Chapter 99: [Bonus Chapter]Unbelievable

She scanned the crowd, swiftly spotting the Second Commander. Although she’d never seen a photo of him, she imdiately identified him. The guy’s ntal threads had broken free from his Sea of Consciousness.

Yuri was surprised to find that the Second Commander looked so youthful, bearing a resemblance to a man in his early forties.

He was tall and imposing, with sharply defined features, and an intense, penetrating gaze. Even from afar, his powerful vibe was palpable.

Truly a formidable individual who could battle level-eight insectoids for nine days straight.

Beside the Second Commander, a stunning woman held his hand, slicing through the ntal threads that constantly broke through the Sea of Consciousness.

But it was like using a cup of water to put out a forest fire.

She couldn’t sever the threads as fast as they erged.

In less than five minutes, this SSS-tier alpha would completely lose control.

Watching the woman, haggard but tenacious, Yuri felt a twinge of emotion.

"It’s okay, let’s stop. All this effort is futile," the Second Commander, also known as Perseman Nekal, gently patted his wife’s hand, his eyes full of affection, "I’m sorry, I can’t be with you any longer."

"Don’t say that. I’m the one who’s failed you," Mrs. Nekal said with self-reproach, "I’m not strong enough to save you."

"You’ve done more than enough for . You’re the most outstanding SSS-tier beta in the Alliance, universally recognized. Don’t you rember?" Perseman managed a small smile, veins bulging on his forehead as he endured intense pain and tornt. "I can’t hold on anymore. You need to take the kids and leave."

As he spoke, Perseman let go of his wife’s hand and strode towards the entrance of the chamber.

"Dad."

"Grandpa."

The Nekal family cried out.

Perseman paused in his steps but didn’t turn back. His voice choked with emotion, he said, "Take good care of your mother, your grandmother. That’s my last command."

With that, he walked into the chamber and shut the door with a loud thud.

Outside, the Nekal family wept inconsolably.

"Let’s move on," Officer Lyao muttered.

Yuri snapped back to reality, realizing that Officer Lyao was leading her down another passage.

They entered a door, walked about fifteen feet, entered another door, and then stepped into an elevator.

As the elevator descended at a dizzying speed, a sudden feeling of weightlessness hit Yuri, turning her complexion pale.

"What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Tuss asked, wrapping his arms around her with concern.

Officer Lyao also glanced at her, concern in his eyes.

"I’m fine. The elevator was just a bit too fast," Yuri explained, having already recovered from her montary discomfort.

"cha are even faster," Officer Lyao hinted.

Yuri pressed her lips together, opting not to respond. Just then, the elevator ca to a halt.

The three stepped out, and Officer Lyao pointed to a room in front of them, "That’s it. You can go in by yourself. We won’t accompany you."

The word "we" made Tuss, who had already taken a step forward, retract his foot.

"Just wait here honestly, if you follow her, you’ll just be a burden," Officer Lyao said.

Tuss grunted in agreent, his eyes unblinking as he watched Yuri, his hands unconsciously balled into fists, revealing his inner tension.

Yuri walked nearly a hundred ters alone, finally stopping at the room at the end.

ntal threads from the chaotic room had sward out, penetrating walls and windows, extending in all directions.

As for the person in the secret room...

Yuri shook her head, the room was too well insulated, she couldn’t hear anything, but she could guess the situation was grim.

Without delay, Yuri sent her psychic power through the door.

Cutting, binding, and finally tidying up.

Two hours later, Yuri retracted her psychic power and waved at Officer Lyao and Tuss a hundred ters away.

Seeing this, Officer Lyao and Tuss strode towards her.

"Is it resolved?" Officer Lyao asked, his voice slightly excited.

Yuri nodded and said, "It’s all right now. He should be asleep."

"In that case, I’ll take you two back first," Officer Lyao said.

"Officer Lyao, I’ve helped so many people tidy up their Sea of Consciousness, don’t you think I deserve a reward?" Yuri took the opportunity to make a request.

Officer Lyao seed entirely unsurprised, calmly asking, "What would you like?"

"My cha broke," Yuri said.

"I’ve already had soone make a new one, but it’ll take so ti," Officer Lyao replied with a chuckle, "Anything else you need?"

Yuri thought for a mont, looked at Tuss, who shook his head at her.

"Nothing for now," Yuri added a ti limit, maybe she’d have more requests later.

Officer Lyao didn’t point out her little sche, instead escorting Yuri and Tuss out of the sanatorium and back to the manor before returning.

Inside the secret room, Perseman lay on the ground, deep in sleep, emitting slight snores.

Seeing this, Officer Lyao found it hard to wake him up. But considering all the work that still needed to be done, he reached out and gave Perseman’s shoulder a pat.

Perseman opened his eyes, a flash of sharpness passing through them. Upon seeing Officer Lyao in front of him, he furrowed his brow and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Officer Lyao stood up and said, "I’m here to take you out."

"Take

out?" Perseman echoed. Just as he was about to say he couldn’t leave, he realized sothing was off—

With a start, he bolted upright, his pupils dilating as he exclaid, "What did you inject

with?"

His restlessness, anxiety, violence, unease... All the emotions he had tried to control but hadn’t managed to, had vanished.

And that persistent pain that had been plaguing him for decades, stubborn and unyielding, like a nail deeply embedded in his brain, had also disappeared.

He felt as though he was back to the ti before he had differentiated, when he had just beco an alpha. Back then, he didn’t suffer from the pain of a disordered Sea of Consciousness, just like now.

So, he asked, "Does this drug you gave

have hallucinogenic effects?"

Officer Lyao: "..." How should I respond to that?

As the two stared at each other, the atmosphere beca sowhat awkward.

After a while, Officer Lyao rubbed his forehead and suggested, "Why not consider that your Sea of Consciousness has been tidied up, the problem of its collapse resolved?"

"That’s impossible," Perseman replied sternly, his words laced with a touch of anger, "Even my thoroughly marked beta can’t solve the problem of my Sea of Consciousness, let alone any other beta."

His wife was the most outstanding beta in the Alliance.

Officer Lyao let out a deep sigh, and said helplessly, "Since you believe so, there’s nothing more I can say. Just wait here until the drug effects wear off, then you can close the door yourself."

Officer Lyao finished, paying no heed to Perseman’s reaction, and walked straight out of the room towards the elevator.

Perseman watched him leave silently, not until the elevator began to rise did he finally blurt out, "Damn kid, I’m on the brink of madness, and during my last monts of sanity, you can’t even spare ti to keep

company." Hmph. Just as I expected from soone raised by the First Commander, you’re all workaholics. No sense of human touch."
