Chapter 91: Abusing Power

The Insectoid Army was vast, infiltrating every corner of the Fritillaria Galaxy’s borders. The Alliance, left with no choice, had to stretch and extend their frontline, creating a sparse battlefield. chas and warships were spread thin, and soldiers found themselves with considerable space in between them.

Take Tuss, for example. He had over a thousand ters of emptiness on either side before another cha.

"He’s an SSS-tier alpha, after all. He should be able to handle this thousand-ter stretch, right?" One soldier asked uncertainly as he fired his cannon at the approaching insectoids, consulting his comrade in arms.

"Let’s wait and see. We’ll provide backup if needed. He might be an SSS-tier alpha, but rember, he’s still a sophomore. Besides, it’s not about the pheromone now; it’s about the proficiency of controlling the cha," responded another soldier.

"That makes sense," agreed the first soldier, recalling his own difficulties controlling a cha in his sophomore year.

The soldiers flanking Tuss kept an eye on his movents. When they saw him recklessly charge into the insectoids, they were shocked to their core.

"Good heavens, what is he doing?"

"No way, he’s got an insectoid in a headlock, and his legs are wrapped around its claw... That’s crazy."

"The problem is, the insectoid seems to actually be immobilized by him."

"When did a cha beco a match for an insectoid’s strength?"

"Could it be that this insectoid is just weak?"

No one could answer these soldiers’ questions.

Just when they thought they’d seen Tuss’ limits, they witnessed his cha’s hands suddenly producing several blades. Those blades, coated in Enova steel, rcilessly slashed at the thick neck of the insectoid. Once its neck was almost entirely severed, leaving only a thin layer of skin, the blades retreated. Then, with both hands, Tuss helped the insectoid’s body to part ways—

The soldiers were dumbfounded,That must have been a fake insectoid. It has to be.

While Tuss was engaged in the brutal battlefield, Yuri watched the war unfold from her starship, her gaze searching for a familiar red-green cha.

Just as she was about to succumb to boredom, two starships ca into view. They grew closer and closer until they joined together.

She was taken aback. She hadn’t known starships could do that.

People from the other starship started to board theirs. Upon hearing the commotion, Yuri stepped out of her room.

"Excuse , excuse ." A man sprayed disinfectant everywhere, not missing a single corner. Others pushed gurneys, barging into any room they could find, disregarding the previous occupants and their belongings.

Are they rging starships due to a lack of space for the wounded? Yuri wondered if her room would be claid, but she felt relieved that all her belongings were stored in her dinsional button, saving her the trouble of packing.

A continuous stream of wounded soldiers was brought in, and eventually, they reached Yuri.

"What are you doing standing here? Move aside," a nurse barked impatiently.

Yuri silently stepped aside, contemplating where to pass the ti—should I head to the cafeteria or the gym?

"You can’t use this room." Bassus suddenly appeared, stopping a bed that was about to be wheeled into the room.

"Why not?" A nurse questioned, her tone furious. She glanced at Yuri, asking, "She’s not ill. Why can’t she give up the room for the wounded?"

"Yeah, why not?" Another voice joined in, seeming to relish the drama.

Yuri looked at the woman who had spoken. She was dressed in a military uniform, her posture imposing, her features striking and bold. As Yuri watched her, the woman turned her gaze onto Yuri. At a glance, Yuri knew—this woman bore no goodwill, and she was here for her.

However, Yuri didn’t recognize her.

Under the questioning of the nurse and the woman, Bassus retorted, visibly annoyed, "Officer Lyao ordered it. If you have questions, ask Officer Lyao. Besides, there are plenty of rooms around. Why are you fixated on this one?"

Upon hearing Officer Lyao’s na, the nurse relented, albeit reluctantly. She gave Yuri a hard look before heading to a room across the hall.

But the woman stayed, casting a sidelong glance at Yuri. "Who is she? Why is she on the warship?"

"My na is Yuri Cheng. As for why I’m on the warship, what does it have to do with you?" Yuri replied, her tone subtly icy.

"Of course, it concerns . I’m responsible for the safety of the wounded on this ship. Your identity and intentions are unclear, and until they’re verified, you’re not welco here," the woman said haughtily.

"Oh, well you don’t need to investigate anymore. I’m a level seven sergeant, not an unidentified person." Yuri magnified her rank on her opticomputer and showed it to the woman. She hadn’t expected her rank to beco useful so quickly.

The woman’s face changed, and she snapped, "Why? You’ve only completed a single term at the academy. How did you beco a level seven sergeant?"

Yuri felt a bit frustrated. The woman knew her identity and was asking questions she already knew the answers to. Now she was questioning her promotion to a level seven sergeant, which was none of her business.

Turning to Bassus, Yuri asked, "Who is this?"

"Saina Nekal, the granddaughter of the Second Commander. She recently used a starstone to elevate her rank to an SS-tier beta," Bassus responded, his expression complicated.

"Oh, is she the one who wrote over a dozen love letters to Tuss, which he returned unopened? The granddaughter of the Second Commander?" Yuri mocked, amused that she could easily pinpoint this woman’s weak spot.

She generally considered herself quite tolerant towards other girls.

Of course, rivals in love were an exception.

Saina’s face changed various shades. She hadn’t expected Yuri to know about this. Feeling like her privacy was stripped in front of a crowd, she found herself drowning in embarrassnt.

She turned to Bassus, asking in a huff, "Is Tuss also on the battlefield?"

"He is," Bassus answered truthfully.

"Good." Saina smirked triumphantly, "I want you to beg . Otherwise, I absolutely won’t do ntal grooming for Tuss. Tsk tsk, how chaotic must the Sea of Consciousness be for an SSS-tier alpha like him? Besides , an SS-tier beta, who else could help him?"

Yuri rolled her eyes and almost laughed out.

"Regretting it?" Seeing Yuri’s silence, Saina beca more smug, "And about your level seven sergeant rank, whatever thod was used to give it to you, I can get it revoked."

Having said that, Saina walked away with her chin up, leaving Yuri behind.

"Don’t worry, besides her, there is another SS-tier beta that ca with us," Bassus tried to reassure Yuri.

Yuri shook her head, "I’m not worried." Tuss didn’t need her.

Bassus couldn’t help but worry on her behalf, Will Tuss bla her for offending an SS-tier beta? Given Tuss’s close relationship with Yuri, he probably won’t, right? But it’s hard to tell, after all, Saina is an SS-tier beta. Sigh, it would be great if Yuri were a beta..
