Chapter 208: Kids of Battleships

After the birth of their eight children, Yuri and Tuss’s lives had beco much busier. Thankfully, they had the help of friends like Daleks. Although it was a whirlwind, they could manage.

When little Yunki turned a year old, and his six-month-old siblings were growing fast, Yuri and Tuss decided it was ti to leave the 458 Defense Line with their crew.

When the news spread, everyone was stunned. "The kids are still so young! You guys are just going to leave them?"

"We’re not leaving them. They’re coming with us," Yuri stated matter-of-factly.

What? Everyone exchanged glances, thinking they had heard wrong.

"Have you lost your minds?" soone dared to ask.

Yuri twitched a corner of her mouth, explaining, "The doctor said considering the children’s health, they can totally ride in the chas and battleships."

"But what will six-month-old babies do on a battleship?"

"What they do at ho, they can do on a battleship. We’ll be cruising along the Alliance’s borders. When we find a suitable planet, we will land and stay for a few days. So, the kids won’t be on the battleship the whole ti," Yuri said calmly, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

Everyone was speechless. When they realized they couldn’t convince Yuri, they turned to Tuss. "Aren’t you worried about the kids’ health if you bring them along?"

Tuss thought of his daughter who had broken the wooden guardrail of her crib just yesterday. He shook his head and said, "There are doctors on the battleship, and we have all sorts of dicine. There’s nothing to worry about."

The crowd was stunned by his nonchalance. Their words of caution fell on deaf ears. As military subordinates, they couldn’t command Yuri and Tuss.

After much thought, they decided to tell Officer Lyao about this, hoping he could intervene.

"Send the children to ," Officer Lyao said.

Yuri was taken aback. "You, a busy man, have ti to look after kids?"

"I’ll hire soone to do it," Officer Lyao said, having planned for this possibility.

Yuri shook her head. "It’s better if Tuss and I take care of them. Besides, they’re so small, they sleep all the ti whether they’re on land or on a battleship. It’s all the sa."

Officer Lyao was fuming. His temples were throbbing, wishing he could reach through the screen and give these reckless parents a piece of his mind. "Land is land, a battleship is a battleship! Not the sa thing!"

Seeing Officer Lyao’s livid face, Yuri reconsidered for a mont and said, "The doctor will check the children every day. If anything seems wrong, we will imdiately send the children to you."

Before Officer Lyao could respond, Yuri ended the call and shut off the opticomputer.

Left hanging, Officer Lyao smacked his table in disappointnt, setting a tense atmosphere throughout the military building.

"Sergeant Chance, who angered Officer Lyao again?" a soldier whispered to Chance.

"Who else could it be, but the two from Planet 4581?" Chance replied calmly.

The soldier’s face lit up as the flas of gossip ignited within him. "What’s the issue this ti?"

"The two of them are about to embark on a mission cruising along the Alliance border with their nine kids." The words left Sergeant Chance’s mouth with a sense of disbelief.

These parents were utterly insane, taking six-month-old infants into the throes of battle.

The soldier blinked in surprise, then gave a quiet thumbs-up. "Impressive."

No matter how much people tried to reason with them, Yuri and Tuss were firm about bringing their children aboard the battleship. They were unwavering.

So busybody uploaded this piece of news to the interstellarnet.

"My goodness, they already have nine children? Isn’t Yuri only 22 this year?"

"Are they all their biological kids?"

"Yes, they are. They were grown in artificial wombs."

"Such good genes, what a waste not to carry them naturally."

"You probably don’t know, Yuri’s eldest son kicked his way out of the artificial womb. A few minutes after birth, he broke a nurse’s rib with a kick. Who would dare carry such a child naturally?"

"Oh my, that’s terrifying but also impressive."

"So this is why Yuri dares to take them aboard the battleship?"

"The poster above has revealed the truth."

"..."

Regardless of how people tried to dissuade them, Yuri, Tuss, and their nine children boarded the battleship that day with heads held high.

A fleet consisting of a large battleship, two dium ones, and several small ones set off from the 458 Defense Line, headed towards the vast expanse of space.

The Alliance was vast, encompassing hundreds of planets across multiple star systems. Yuri and Tuss’ cruise was to circumnavigate the Alliance. If they flew non-stop, it would take at least three to four months.

But clearly, Yuri and Tuss weren’t planning just to fly. They intended to battle insectoids, explore unknown planets, and look for various mineral deposits...

The number of tasks they had in mind was enormous, and their pace was slow like a turtle’s. It took them a full five years to complete the journey.

"In five years, our fleet could have made a dozen rounds," soone protested, feeling triumphant about surpassing the fad 4581 legion in at least one regard.

"But even a dozen of your rounds wouldn’t be as valuable as one of theirs. After their journey, have you seen any insectoid invasions along the Alliance border?"

"More than that, they mined resources and made a fortune."

"They also brought back many new species, which have high research value."

"..."

On Planet 4581, a fleet of battleships landed in unison. As soon as the ship touched down, a boy of about six or seven opened the hatch and rushed out.

"Yunki, wait for ."

Following the boy were eight younger children.

"Wow, it’s snow. It’s so white."

"Are you silly? If snow isn’t white, would it be black?"

"Yunki, let’s have a snowball fight."

"We can have a snowball fight, but no crying if it hurts."

"I won’t cry. It’s not even clear who’ll hit who."

"And no tattling."

"Okay, no problem."

The nine children darted off like lightning bolts towards the distant snowdrifts.

This scene left the stationed soldiers in shock. Are those human children, or insectoids that just passed by?

Just as they were contemplating sounding the alarm, crisp, cheerful voices drifted towards them.

"Yunki, watch this."

"Haha, you missed."

"Did you secretly practice your speed again?"

"So what if I did? You should practice too."

"Watch out for my ga snowball."

The soldiers turned just in ti to see a little girl hoisting a snowball that was three to four tis her size. Her tiny body leaned back slightly, and with a powerful throw, she sent the massive snowball spinning rapidly through the air, aid directly at a boy not far off.

"Careful!"

The soldiers, in a state of urgency, yelled and sprinted towards them.

They didn’t have ti to ponder how such a small girl could throw such a large snowball, and at such speed. It was sothing they couldn’t even accomplish themselves.

Their only thought at the mont was to save the boy.
