Chapter 147: Level-six, tal Enova

As tears stread down her face, Yuri felt as if she was shutting down.

She hadn’t even cried when she died in her past life. Now, a heat cycle had reduced her to tears... That was unbelievable.

Yuri laid on the bed, dazed, allowing wave after wave of heat and desire to engulf her. She could feel her body’s yearning continuously escalating, reaching a peak, then slowly subsiding. Her emotions followed suit, from intense to calm, then back to intense. The stark contrast and constant shifts were disorienting.

Anyone slightly weaker would probably fall into depression, even harbor suicidal thoughts—

Yuri didn’t know how long she’d been spacing out until a ssage ca through, snapping her back to reality. She slowly opened the ssage, which read: "My pheromone is in the bedside drawer."

Yuri paused. His pheromone?

Seeing the word ’pheromone,’ her body, seemingly out of her control, quickly opened the drawer.

Then, she saw a row of small, test tube-like vials neatly arranged inside.

She unscrewed one of the vials and, in the next second, a strong, icy woodsy scent wafted out, filling every corner of the room in no ti.

Surrounded by this pheromone, all her unease, anxiety, loneliness... all ebbed away like a receding tide.

The effect was imdiate.

It was incredibly useful.

Once again, Yuri marveled at the wonders of the alpha and beta species.

As her emotions steadied, Yuri’s mind began to clear. She stared at the row of more than twenty pheromone vials and wondered, when had Tuss started preparing these?

Extracting this much pheromone must’ve taken at least a few weeks, right?

So, he must’ve planned his mission long ago, and without her.

A tightness ford in Yuri’s chest, a mix of frustration and restlessness.

Over the next few days, Yuri truly experienced the sensitivity, overthinking, and fragility of a beta heat cycle...

When the heat cycle ended, she even questioned if she’d been possessed during those few days.

Maybe that wasn’t really her.

Yuri tapped her head, suddenly rembering. While she was experiencing her heat cycle, Tuss was going through his heat period.

How is he doing? I could’ve been a better wife. Yuri self-reflected for three seconds, then texted Tuss: Are you still alive? Did you do anything impulsive?

Right after she sent the ssage, a reply ca quickly: Still alive. Beat up a few level-five insectoids.

Yuri: Where did the insectoids co from?

Tuss: I’m at the border.

Yuri frowned. He’s already at the border?

This term’s break wasn’t long, just over a month. When Military Academy No. 1 started, Tuss still hadn’t returned.

Yuri didn’t know where he was. Their contact had been intermittent. The last ti she received a ssage from him was six days ago.

Yuri first went to report to the cha Manufacturing departnt, then to the cha Combat departnt to report for Tuss.

When the teacher at the cha Combat departnt saw her, they cheerfully said, "Feel free to attend your husband’s class when you have the ti. I’ll turn a blind eye and pretend not to see you."

Yuri: ".....Okay."

She’d been there a few tis last sester, but as her course load increased and her to-do list lengthened, she’d stopped going. Now, busier than last sester, she likely wouldn’t have ti to attend Tuss’s classes.

Since the teacher had prefaced the invite with "when you have the ti," it wouldn’t be seen as breaking a promise if she didn’t show.

One week, two weeks into the new term, Tuss was still away. Every few days, Yuri would receive a ssage from him, reassuring her he was alive.

One afternoon after school, as she was eating in the cafeteria with Daleks, Ender, and others, a student suddenly shouted, "Quickly log into the Interstellarnet! There’s a live broadcast of the Alliance chasing human traffickers."

Hearing the words ’human traffickers’, Yuri instantly set down her chopsticks and turned on her opticomputer.

"Yuri, enlarge the screen so we can all watch," Daleks said.

At his request, Yuri increased the screen size and set it up at the head of their long table so everyone could see.

On the screen, a starship, sothing between a regular comrcial starship and a battleship, was speeding through space. Behind it trailed a small battleship and a dozen chas.

"That’s Tuz’s cha," Daleks pointed at a red and green cha. It was so noticeable, it was hard to ignore.

"Yuri, what mission did Tuz take?" Ender asked.

Thinking that everyone could now watch the live broadcast, Yuri figured there was no point in hiding it. "Investigating a case of beta trafficking."

"Dang, so the starship is filled with betas? No wonder a dozen chas and a battleship can’t beat a single starship," Daleks exclaid.

Kilana: "They’re handling it with kid gloves. They have no choice."

Ender: "Look at the purple ring over there."

Everyone at the table turned their attention in the direction Ender pointed, spotting a faint purple ring.

Suddenly, Daleks stood up, "Co on, shoot it down. If they don’t take action soon, it’ll reach the Empire’s territory."

As if they’d heard Daleks, the battleship and chas on the screen collectively fired at the starship, all using lower-intensity fire.

However, the starship was no ordinary vessel. It dodged at incredible speeds, evading and counterattacking. The power of its cannon fire was definitely at least level five or six.

"Damn it, even if it kills the people on board, don’t let it get to the Empire."

"Maybe the traffickers are from the Empire."

"They deserve to die even more for snatching people from the Alliance. Destroy them."

"But the Alliance’s citizens are still on that starship."

"..."

The students in the cafeteria were so excited they were banging on the tables.

The purple ring was getting closer. The modified starship suddenly ramped up its speed to the max, shooting forward like a ray of light—

"Shoot it down."

"It’s too late."

"This is infuriating."

The front part of the starship had already entered the ring when, out of nowhere, a huge chunk of tal fell from the sky. It slamd into the front of the starship, knocking it out of the ring.

At the sa mont, the red and green cha leapt onto the starship, aiming a fierce punch at its energy unit.

What seed like a simple punch shocked the starship, the fist breaking through the hull and directly destroying the energy unit.

Without energy, the starship began plumting towards the space.

The green cha still wasn’t satisfied, punching the starship over and over, reducing it to a tattered doll. In the end, it was caught in a net launched by the battleship and towed back into Alliance territory.

Is that it? The people in the cafeteria couldn’t believe it.

"Did anyone see where that massive piece of tal, weighing tons, ca from?"

"I replayed it a few tis and it seems to have co from the Empire’s direction."

"So the Empire denied the starship entry? Did I misunderstand the Empire?"

"Maybe."

"By the way, have you noticed the red and green cha is getting more ruthless?"

With that comnt, all eyes turned to Yuri. Yuri, however, didn’t seem to notice. She was furrowing her brows in deep thought. Has Tuss’s tal Enova leveled up again? Is it at level six now?
