Chapter 535: Chapter 518 Central City

Maeve submitted a leave application for a temporary departure from Creekwood Small World and, while waiting for the Law to approve, she began to tell Mu Ying about Central City.

“Central City is the birthplace of all world Laws as well as our Divine Race. Young Gods are nurtured there. Mom nurtured you at the Pregnancy God Departnt of Central City. Only after your Divine Soul was born did Mom bring you back to the Divine Domain.”

Mu Ying rembered how she had just entered the egg from that dark world; that Stage must have been the birth of her Divine Soul. “Mom, what does Central City look like? Is it big? What’s there?”

“Central City is neither particularly large nor particularly small. It’s an island floating in the midst of the Laws, constructed of the Laws themselves, probably about the sa size as a Small World. The heart of the island is the Three Divisions, and just outside that is a lively marketplace, the most interesting place for our Divine Race. However, you need to use Divine Power Crystals for everything there…” Maeve explained in detail, even conjuring a map with her Divine Power to show Mu Ying what Central City looked like.

In Mu Ying’s view, the entire Central City was a large marketplace centered around the Three Divisions.

The Three Divisions consist of the Pregnancy God Departnt, the Inheritance Departnt, and the Divine Position Departnt.

The Pregnancy God Departnt was the place where Maeve’s mother had nurtured her, where she also received her subsidy.

The Inheritance Departnt was where Mu Ying was headed this ti to test her Affinity Law Talent and to receive an Inheritance Seed.

The Divine Position Departnt was for taking the Divine Exam, and where one received their salary every quarter.

Although the Three Divisions are the largest buildings in Central City, they still take up less ground than the surrounding marketplace. But Maeve’s mother said that the Three Divisions had the most concentrated Power of Laws, and the space inside looked a lot bigger than it appeared.

The marketplace outside the Three Divisions is the trading venue our Divine Race has created, inspired by human marketplaces.

Although no one charges fees for setting up stalls or opening shops there and all Divine Race mbers are free to showcase their divine abilities and sell goods in their shops, the Power of Laws in Central City is much stronger than that in the outer Small Worlds or Big World, making it more challenging for Divine Race mbers to harness it.

Conjuring a shop or stall in Central City with Divine Power consus a lot of energy. Unless one genuinely has a lot of things to sell, setting up a shop would result in a deficit.

Therefore, Divine Race mbers who manage to run a shop in Central City for a long ti are remarkable, surely coming from the Divine Domain with unique specialties and robust Divine Power.

Like the Blue Apple Wine that Maeve’s mother brews, she can only take it to another Divine Race mber’s winery to sell on consignnt. Opening a small shop simply wouldn’t be feasible with just that amount of goods.

During their term holding a Divine Position, Divine Race mbers cannot leave the world of their position at will. By submitting an application, they may take leave and briefly depart for a short period. When it cos to running a shop, it’s their self-created affiliated races that help look after it.

It took more than half a year for Maeve’s mother’s application to get approved.

Getting to Central City, however, is easy. All Laws originate from Central City and are closely connected to it. One can simply transport there using the Power of Laws.

Maeve embraced Mu Ying, conjured a water gate with her Divine Power, and stepped through.

Maybe because Mu Ying also had an affinity with the Water Law, she didn’t feel any discomfort, but the journey took a bit longer than when she had traveled from the Divine Domain to Creekwood Small World, allowing her to observe the flowing Water Law Power surrounding them during transport.

The closer they got to Central City, the denser and more viscous the Power of Laws beca.

When they reappeared, they were already on a bridge made of a seven-colored flowing light.

It was called a bridge simply because of its shape, like a rainbow, but there was no land on either side of it.

The undulating Rainbow Bridge, stretching beyond sight, is the main body of Central City, looking incredibly magical.

Both sides of the Rainbow Bridge are lined with a variety of shops, starting from the Three Divisions and eventually leading back to them.

Which ans, no matter which direction you walk along the Rainbow Bridge, you’ll end up returning to the Three Divisions.

Mu Ying curiously looked at the shops on both sides from Maeve’s mother’s embrace.

These shops are generally quite small, and the goods displayed on the shelves look very ordinary from the outside.

Most abundant are various foods, like blue apples, and processed snacks and beverages; followed by shops selling materials—basic ones such as wood, stone, and tal, all sourced from the Divine Domain.

Mu Ying had imagined that there would be shops brimming with Divine Artifacts as weapons, but there were very few of them. Moreover, these shops were empty, scarcely visited, giving the impression they were on the verge of closing, which contrasted sharply with the bustling food and material stores.

It occurs to her that she has rarely seen any gods carrying weapons, and skirmishes are extrely uncommon.

Previously, she could attribute it to having seen too few of the Divine Race.

Now, in Central City, surrounded by the Divine Race, nobody seems to patronize the weaponry shops, indicating that such items are inherently unpopular among the gods.

At the heart of the Rainbow Bridge, the Three Divisions consist of three interconnected palaces: the Inheritance Departnt is in the middle, the Fertility Departnt to the left, and the Divine Position Departnt to the right, all shimring with a rainbow-lit glow.

As they approach the Inheritance Departnt, Mu Ying and her group find more gods accompanied by their children.

The little young gods held by their fathers or mothers generally have shiny bald heads, which boosts Mu Ying’s confidence quite a bit.

Ten years is trivial for the Divine Race, and Mu Ying, a ninety-year-old little young god, looks akin to other hundred-year-olds—just bald little beans.

The Law Affinity talent test and the reception of Inheritance Seeds turned out to be much simpler than Mu Ying expected.

In the Inheritance Departnt, there are small, colorful pedestals floating in the air.

Mu Ying saw the gods who had arrived just before them place their little young god on one of these pedestals, whereupon a divine seal appeared on the child’s forehead. Divine Power was drawn out from the divine seal, forming a Little Cocoon on the pedestal.

The parents of the little young god waited patiently beside the Little Cocoon.

Looking around the Inheritance Departnt, every differently colored cocoon represented a little young god undergoing the test.

To the left and slightly ahead, a red cocoon had just dissipated, and the awakened little young god inside was lifted down by the parents, who asked questions and then left the Inheritance Departnt.

“Mom, how can we tell the test results?” Mu Ying didn’t see the process that showed the test outcos.

“From the color of the cocoon, we can infer the general type of Law Affinity. The more singular the affinity, the clearer it will be, like the one just now should be a singular affinity to the Fire Principle. But if there are multiple types, it could be inaccurate, and the degree of affinity cannot be discerned. Ultimately, the little young gods who receive the Inheritance Seed will know best for themselves,” Maeve explained.
