The one on the observation deck appeared more like an inanimate object.
Mu Ying picked up a wooden stick and poked the orb of light.
The mont the wooden stick touched the object inside, the orb of light disappeared, and a square wooden sign fell to the ground with a clatter.
Mu Ying picked it up and saw: “× Lord Token.”
The script was not Chinese but the Universal Language, which Shi Yin had taught her earlier.
She could speak it, but she hardly recognized the characters, only making out these last two.
She could discern nothing else.
At this mont, a nauseating stench reached her, and Mu Ying turned around with a frown.
The odor was coming from that humanoid orb of light.
According to the previous announcent about distributing player qualifications and survival resources, the survival resources should refer to the Lord Token, and the player qualification couldn’t possibly refer to this foul-slling zombie, right?
Yes, zombie—it was definitely one, judging by the foul sll and the rotting flesh, a spitting image directly copied from the Resident Evil movies of her forr world.
The zombie writhed within the orb of light, which seed to restrain it, but the light was rapidly fading, and it wouldn’t be long before it would break free.
Mu Ying scanned the distant mountain path where every climber had a conspicuous humanoid orb of light next to them, like specks of gold in a swarm of ants.
Deciding no longer to hesitate, Mu Ying took a deep breath, held her breath, circled behind the zombie, drew her kitchen knife, aid for the zombie’s neck, and chopped down forcefully.
As the knife struck the zombie’s neck, the orb of light completely lost its effect.
Luckily, the zombie’s neck was unexpectedly brittle, or perhaps Mu Ying had used too much force, as she managed to chop off half of it in one swing.
The zombie’s head now tilted even more severely, only a small finger-length layer still attached, but the electronic voice that followed inford her the zombie had been eliminated.

A thin leather-bound book appeared in front of her.

The inside of each page was interactive.
Rather than a book, it was more like a system panel containing five interfaces, albeit in the form of a book.
She recognized the text—it was Universal Language, but she hadn’t learned many of the terms, it was as though she had suddenly achieved Level 8 in Universal Language.
Only the first page “adventure record” was accessible, recording all the electronic sounds she had heard previously, along with so other information.
