Chapter 90: Criminal
Although Elara said that, inside she was rather angry. ’I haven’t even been able to get any information about their missions,’ she complained internally.
With Owen in charge of them, it was difficult to obtain that information, as it was no secret that Owen had a preference for the 101st.
Now, that was curious, because even though he had preferences, he generally did not interfere with the recruitnt of his students by other regints, unless the 101st was interested in them.
Was Gideon interested in this boy?
’That would be surprising.’ Even though Elara hated Gideon with all her soul and they were bitter enemies, she respected him as a formidable rival, which also made her interested in Edward.
Robert smiled at her response. "So the importance lies not in completing a greater number of missions, but in the actual achievents you can get out of them, huh. In the end, I’m still on top."
Elara turned to look at him. "From the way you talk, you seem to have so hatred for that guy. Why? Are you interested in Ashford?"
"Why would I hate soone who is weaker than
and whose talent is so low that he can’t even threaten my current position?" He scoffed with a shrug and took a bite of a piece of at.
"With all that you’ve said, you still haven’t told
what I want to know," Robert said again.
"Sigh. You’re just not useful enough in Gideon’s eyes. Is that enough of an answer? He’ll never send you a contract to join the Regint because you’re not worthy, at least not in his eyes."
"Hm?" Robert swallowed hard, choking on a piece of at because of what he had just heard. "He doesn’t consider
worthy? Am I not that useful?" He genuinely thought he had misheard...
"Don’t be surprised by that. Gideon considers Myles and
unworthy." Elara scoffed. "Although you are talented, your current strength is far from ours, but he still doesn’t consider us worthy. What would be left for you?"
"Really? Is that guy crazy? That Mr. Myles or you are not worthy?"
No one could understand what that guy was thinking or how he judged usefulness, so Elara didn’t respond further. She focused on her food.
And Robert had no choice but to do the sa, until a while later, he decided to speak up.
"So, what does 03 offer
that 01 cannot, Miss Vire? I must tell you that Mr. Myles himself expressed interest in
personally, and Count Hazzard ca to see ."
Elara stared at him for several seconds before ignoring what was going through her mind, and they began to speak slowly.

After an intense night, Edward returned to the Academy quite early the next day.
When he entered his room, Arnold was quietly reading a book.
The title was The Pirate of the Night Ocean.
Edward didn’t pay much attention to it and, after showering, went to his room to rest.
-
Magic training at the academy resud the next day, Monday morning.
That day, news of the mission Edward’s group had participated in spread throughout the academy.
The students were addicted to gossiping about famous people, and on this occasion, the fact that Arnold the Anomaly, Edward the Lux, and Aurora Ashford were in the sa group naturally led to them becoming part of the hottest gossip on campus.
Especially when they lost soone...
"Did you hear the news?" The students in Edward’s group started talking as soon as they arrived at today’s training location inside the Academy’s Training Center.
"About Edward Lux and his peculiar group? I heard; that bastard is lucky to be able to see Miss Aurora every day..."
"I’m not talking about that, idiot." His classmate hit him on the forehead. "I’m talking about the mission!"
"Ah... You an where one of the students died, right? Lander Konan."
"Yes, that one. They say he died in a mysterious fire that completely burned his head, but his body was never found."
"A mysterious fire?" One of them frowned. "Wait... Wasn’t that bastard Lux’s fire quite peculiar? It was very hot, but passive at the sa ti."
The one who started the conversation smiled. "Actually, that’s what I was getting at. My father told
that they had been conducting exhaustive investigations into what happened, as there were certain suspicious things in the report. He said that Edward Lux is suspected of killing him."
When he said that it was his father who had told him and revealed all that information, all the students around him had to take it seriously. His father was a high-ranking mber of the ard forces and worked in the service of the Elders.
If he said sothing... it had to be true.
"But why would he kill him? I heard they got along very well and were always training together." One of them frowned and expressed his doubt.
"I don’t know. But the Konan family also suspects him, and that has made it impossible for the ard forces to ignore it."
"The Konans? They’re a small, weak family of cooks. How credible can their suspicion be?"
"I still don’t know why we should believe them, but it’s suspected that Lander Konan was the first cousin of Young John from the 99th Regint... That sa John seems to have been humiliated recently by Edward in a face-to-face encounter, but I’m not sure about that."
As they spoke, Edward appeared from behind and approached, frowning. "Could you repeat what you just said?" he asked.
The student who was speaking trembled when he saw him coming. "You... What the hell are you doing here?" he asked, almost stuttering and taking a step back.
"Why wouldn’t I co? I’m in this sa class." Edward replied. "But I heard you talking about Lander... Could you repeat that? Why do they say they suspect
of killing him?" His furrowed brow revealed that he was genuinely surprised and even concerned.
"You... I don’t need to answer to a bastard who’s wanted by the ard forces!" the student growled and drew his sword. "Friends, draw your swords and weapons to restrain this criminal! My father told
that he was going to be interrogated by the ard forces next week and that he wasn’t allowed to co. If he’s here, it’s because he clearly escaped and wants to flee!"
At his roar, several students moved quickly and drew their weapons or summoned beasts, preparing to fight and surrounding Edward.
Edward was completely stunned. He looked in shock at all the students surrounding him.
What the hell was going on? Since when had he beco a wanted criminal?
"Edward..." Robert got up from where he was standing and walked toward him. "What the hell did you do? Did you really kill one of your classmates out of jealousy?" he asked as soon as he saw him.
"What do you an?" Edward asked, frowning, still unable to believe that they wanted to fra him for Lander’s death.
"Don’t you know? Hmph. The rumors are strong and they co from the ard forces, so they can’t be wrong. They claim that you were the one who killed Lander Konan!"
"Huh? And why would they think I would kill Lander?"
"Out of jealousy, obviously!" shouted one of the students surrounding him.
"Jealousy of what?" Edward turned to look at him as if he were stupid.
"From..." Although the student tried to shout out an answer, what answer could he give? Envy of his rank? Edward was of a higher rank. Envy of his wealth? Clearly, Edward earned more than Lander, and rumors that Edward and Aurora had been seen in hotels were rife lately, so he had one of the most beautiful and richest won in the kingdom as his girlfriend.
What could he be envious of? The student couldn’t know, but he still felt anger and kept his posture upright.
"We don’t know that, but we’ll find out soon." Said soone who suddenly walked through the door... It was instructor Kael Vorren, who entered with several soldiers from the ard forces behind him.
All the students stepped aside, leaving the way clear for them to co in for Edward.
The ard forces soldiers sent were strong, strong enough to easily take down a 3-Star student.
"Whether you have committed a cri or not, we advise you not to resist. We have orders to take you before the elders, even if we have to drag you or hurt you," they said, grabbing Edward firmly by the arms and shaking him.
Edward stared at them, but even his mouth was imdiately gagged to prevent him from speaking. It was a coordinated move between four fairly powerful n and in the presence of Kael, who said absolutely nothing to stop them.
As if he were a real criminal wanted by the law, Edward was pushed out of the Training Center by the soldiers and, in full view of the entire academy, was taken before the Hall of Elders, where the Seven Elders were... well, one was missing, Owen.
He was thrown into the middle of a huge room built like a coliseum. In front of him were the elders, seated above him, and surrounding him were many soldiers.
Finally, in front of him, but below the stands, were two people.
Lander Konan’s parents.
