Chapter 72: Demolished

Back at the Academy, Edward went to see Instructor rvan, while Aurora went to deal with the matter with her family. Arnold simply returned to his room, and Lander went to train.

"You say you took the ti to investigate so as not to make a mistake?" rvan asked, looking over the entire report and the confirmations. "And you discovered that Silas rchant didn’t actually do anything wrong, but that it was his twin brother, Scylas?"

"Yes, sir. By investigating the surroundings and talking to people who knew the situation, we were able to find out the whole background. Of course, we didn’t trust it until we saw the irrefutable evidence."

rvan was genuinely surprised. He read the entire docunt Edward handed him with a frown. Thoughtful.

Everything related to the mission was there, especially what confird that the culprit was not Silas, but Scylas. There was also a storage ring with the bodies of the targets.

rvan nodded after finishing. "You’ve done well. With this, the missions issued will no longer be mandatory and will have greater variety. There are more benefits that will be granted to you as a group, although I remind you that the best benefits will co when you join a Regint."

"Very well, Instructor rvan. I wanted to ask you, can I now access the Academy Dungeons? I’m interested in training there."

"Of course, although not all of them. You have access to several solo dungeons and a few group dungeons. I’ll send you the list later. And I’ll send you missions once a week, every Friday. Rember to check them. Also, I’ll send the mission reward to the student Aurora later, once I confirm with the senior instructors that the objective has been accomplished."

Edward nodded and said goodbye respectfully before leaving the office.

rvan took a deep breath and looked at the docunt once more. He read it carefully for a long ti, as if trying to scrutinize all of its contents. At the end, the seal of Edward and Aurora’s team adorned it.

Then he looked at the storage ring on the side and stood up. He placed the docunt on the table next to the ring and left the room.

--

Owen was not soone who arrived late to his office on workdays. Despite being known as the laziest elder, he was quite punctual for his academic appointnts.

But his days have been busy lately, as he had spent three years on "vacation" and needed to catch up on many things.

However, the reason for his late arrival today was that he had discovered Varhat’s movents in recent days and had to investigate them.

When he entered his office, Owen frowned. He noticed sothing different. The chairs were in their place. So were the sofas.

The books were there, the table hadn’t been moved... Everything was in its place.

But he was sure that sothing was wrong.

He walked slowly around his room, his hand running over the different items. He reached his desk and moved his fingers, as if trying to wipe the dust off it.

Suddenly, he stopped and looked at the table.

Traces...

He easily traced what he had found, right back to the stacked, signed folders he had left there the day before.

Another elderly person or soone else might not have noticed, but he easily noticed that there was one extra folder.

With frightening precision, looking among folders that were almost identical to each other, he grabbed the one that had been deliberately placed there.

The rchant Case and the Traitor Family.

He read the cover and opened it. ’Have they already completed it?’

He quickly dove into the contents and reviewed them carefully. The contents recounted what had been discovered by the group in charge of carrying out the mission.

At a glance, it was clear that it had been a mission done correctly, with exhaustive research and a rather terrifying level of detail.

In the end, the seal of a temporary group called "Fire Falcon" put an end to the docunt.

’It looks like a newly created group,’ Owen thought, before skimming through the docunt again, but in reverse. He was looking for key points he had seen before.

What he was reading didn’t make much sense.

The Academy already knew all this, and the mission was set up in such a way that all of this had already been explained. Why was the final result of the mission delivery docunt almost the sa, but with nurous interesting variables? Was the person who completed the mission an idiot?

’It was completed, that’s for sure...’ His eyes suddenly lit up when he realized sothing.

He imdiately moved his hand and rang a magic bell on the table. "Whoever is on duty right now, follow

to the middle district imdiately," he said.

Then he left his office with the docunt in his hand.

He didn’t leave for the academy, but instead walked out through the governnt building’s doors.

In less than five minutes, he was already riding in a carriage alongside a man dressed in military uniform, adorned with several suns, indicating his rank as a general.

"Sir, has sothing happened?" asked the general.

"I’d like to know that myself." Owen didn’t fully answer his question.

"Sir?"

"Find out who the instructor in charge of the Fire Falcon group is. Since you’re on duty among the instructors, you should be able to do it quickly. Do it now." Owen ordered.

Although the general was confused, he obeyed his order and got off the carriage before running to the academy...

30 minutes later, he was back with Owen, who was still traveling along the long roads of Lor.

"Sir, the Fire Falcon group was recently created by the young student Edward, who was injured on that mission you sent him on. Among its prominent mbers are Miss Ashford and the student Arnold, who was recently punished," reported the general.

"That boy?" Owen nodded... He was soone who would surely create a temporary group to demonstrate his ability and talent to the bigwigs. That Aurora Ashford would follow him was no surprise; it was no secret to him that the two were in love.

"And their instructor?"

"It’s Sergeant rvan, sir."

"rvan..." Owen nodded, rembering the man’s face. He didn’t say a word for the rest of the trip, simply listening to part of the general’s report.

They soon arrived in the vicinity of the middle district and entered an area of mansions between the middle and lower districts.

"Sir, there are still a few more blocks to go, but it looks like the guards have taken control of the area. Should I ntion your na?" asked the carriage driver.

"No need. Wait for

here. I’ll just go take a look." Owen urged the general to follow him, and they both ventured into the remaining streets.

.

"A demolition?" asked the general, suspecting what had happened. "Why are there so many guards?"

They had both decided to hide among the nearby restaurant buildings to observe the situation.

The rchant Mansion had been demolished.

But not by normal ans.

’Spiritual demolition.’ Owen frowned and jumped from the restaurant onto the mansion grounds.
