Chapter 42: The Night of the Stars (2)

On the other side of the door was not a hall, a courtyard, or a stone.

There was another dinsion.

The starry sky greeted them, and the countless stars in the firmant bowed to them.

The feeling it conveyed left everyone in shock, but they quickly realized they were inside a coliseum. There were lots of seats around, most of which were empty.

Only small, luxurious seats had people in them.

The first thing they saw were the high-level students.

The Academic Student Council!

There were 12 high-level students standing there, looking at the newcors with interest. Each one wore red clothes. Four stars adorned their shoulders and one more was placed on their chest, next to their heart.

5-Star Students.

And they weren’t just 5-Star Students... they were the 12 most powerful ones.

All 100 young people watching from below longed to one day be part of those 12, as it was the highest prestige a student could have. They were practically the leaders of the entire student body.

Several of them stood out.

Myles, Number 1. His trademark was a red scarf that adorned his neck and fell forward, which was decorated with several additional stars. He was the Captain of Regint 01, believed to be the most powerful regint today.

Another who stood out naturally was the one ranked fifth. Perhaps the most interesting of the 12, even though he was the least ntioned.

For many, he is the most distinctive. Captain of Regint 101: Gideon, The Magician.

He was the only one of the 12 who had earned his own title, which he had earned through hard work and by being the best Magician in the Academy’s Magic Manifestation Group. He also wore a scarf characteristic of those students who had made great contributions.

The only thing that took its toll on him was his age. This was his last year, unlike the other 11, who still had at least two years ahead of them.

.

"Is that Robert Morris?" On the balcony of the Academic Council, Myles’ gaze imdiately fell on Robert. "He’s changed."

"He has. If you hadn’t said anything, I would have had a hard ti recognizing him," replied the second-ranked Charles, looking at Myles. "Are you interested, Captain?" he asked.

Myles laughed. "Let’s put his talent aside for now, because it’s not certain they’ll be able to exploit it, you know how the Morrises are," he said and continued. "But that Lion has so many uses that he could join any of the Celestial Regints right now."

Charles nodded. "Indeed. I think that boy will be the most sought-after this new year. How much do you think the Regints will pay to have him for the next five years?"

Myles shrugged. "Who knows? Anyway, we often pay too much and end up losing. This ti we have to be more cautious and rember Jostein."

Jostein... Charles felt a twinge in his heart. That na still hurt him.

Such a talented star... but so unfortunate. He burned out before his ti.

Those who heard their conversation felt the sa way about Jostein...

"By the way, where’s Gideon?" Charles asked suddenly, forcing Myles to turn around.

"He’s not here?" The spot where Gideon had been standing a mont ago was empty.

Even the person next to him was stunned.

"That bastard..." Myles sighed and put his hand to his head. What was he going to do with this stubborn senior?

He disappeared and reappeared whenever he wanted...

.

From the Academic Council, the students’ gaze moved forward and ended where the academy elders were standing.

It wasn’t unusual to see them, but they were the most powerful n, in many ways, in the entire region.

They ruled the Province.

Generals were their subordinates.

The Nobles had to pay homage to them, and only those powerful Dukes of the Capital could be on their level.

There were only seven of them... well, there should have been. One was missing.

.

"With the addition of Robert Morris and Elizabeth, I think this year’s group of 100 is pretty complete. Especially that Morris boy, his talent is majestic," said an elder nad Enzo.

Another elder, Shawn, nodded. "I’m curious about his talent," he said. "I think the change is so big this ti because his talent will be sothing that will leave us speechless."

"You’re right, Elder Shawn." The ’oldest’ elder, whose head was completely white, nodded. "This boy could be one of the greatest talents the Kingdom has produced in the last 100 years."

"I agree, Elder Jacob," Elder Shawn replied.

Unlike Jacob, who was elderly in every sense of the word, Shawn was a "young man
