"Were you able to activate n from the Robertson family?" Riley asked Rodney.

"Robertson family?" Rodney thought for a mont.

He glanced at the surroundings, and then at his secretary.

His secretary took out his phone and had confirmation from the operations staff.

"Yes, none of the awakened teams from the Robertson family showed up."

"None? Don’t they know it’s a chargeable offense not to turn up for the activation?" Rodney fud and he took out his phone.

He tapped on the contact for Edric Robertson.

"The contact number you’ve called is no longer in use."

Rodney ended the call in anger.

He scrolled and called the Governor’s number.

It rang and rang with no one picking it up.

Rodney frowned.

Sothing bad might have happened to the Governor.

He thought for a mont and glanced over at Riley’s team.

Thorne Blackmore was having a conversation with Riley.

He placed his hand on Riley’s shoulder with a smile.

"You must be Riley, SSS Level Lightning awakened, Adept Mastery. The Army needs soone like you." Thorne Blackmore nodded his head approvingly and said.

Riley shook his head as he wasn’t too interested.

Being with the team ant that he had freedom to choose which missions to take on.

But in the Army, you didn’t have much of a choice.

Thorne Blackmore frowned and sighed.

He pulled back his hand and looked at the other team mbers.

If only they had powerful abilities like SSS Level Lightning. He thought silently to himself.

"Thanks so much for the hint, Riley." Rodney said.

"It’s not . Lukas figured it out." Riley said and pointed at Lukas.

Lukas shrugged and said, "It’s coincidence. I got lots of love for the Robertson family, makes it obvious to when I don’t see any of them."

Rodney nodded at Lukas and said, "But I don’t have the capacity to deal with Edric Robertson now.

"I need your team to go to the Governor’s residence to check on his status.

"I can’t contact him.

"And of course, there will be a reward for this mission."

As the Director of the Awakened Center, Rodney knew that the briefcase was in the Governor’s hands.

He had to make sure it was safe.

"The Governor?" Riley frowned at the information.

This ant that there might be sothing more sinister at play.

He glanced over at his team mbers, waiting for their opinion.

Rex, Emma, Harianto and Lukas nodded their heads.

"We will go." Riley said and shook hands with Rodney.

They left the wall imdiately.

And they passed through so of the most horrific scenes they could ever imagine.

Bodies, parts and blood were strewn all over the place.

Their boots beca sticky as they walked through areas that were soaked in blood.

When they got into the armored car, Riley said, "Replenish your energy, I’m not sure what to expect next."

Vroom.

The engine started and the armored car left, leaving a trail of black smoke behind it.

Lukas joined in with the other team mbers and munched on his energy bar and drank so water.

...

North of the city, underground base.

50 floors underground.

There were guards heavily ard standing outside of an office.

And beside the office was a lift that enabled them to go down even further into the underground base.

Inside the office, Patricia’s parents were on duty, and they were worried about Patricia’s safety.

Her father, Charles, was sitting in his chair, with a desk in front of him, piled up with files and docunts.

He was looking at the last ssage she sent him a few minutes ago.

[I’m at the underground shelter. Everything is fine except for so commotion among those inside.]

He gave out a sigh of relief as that ant the wall hadn’t been breached.

Charles glanced over at his wife, Wendy, who was blonde and had beautiful blue eyes like Patricia.

She was standing in front of a control panel, with screens that showed what was happening in crucial areas of the underground base.

"Why do we have to be here when the city is under such threat?" Wendy asked as she paced around.

Charles shook his head and said, "Orders are orders. Besides, I’m sure The Southern Pillar is crucial to the survival of the Southern Battle Administration Area."

"But what exactly is it? You and I have been guarding this place for years, and we don’t even know what it does." Wendy said in frustration.

She would rather be out there protecting the city than staying here guarding sothing that no one has seen before.

Charles shook his head and got up from his seat.

He walked over to Wendy, placed his hand around her waist, wanting to comfort her.

Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw sothing unusual happening.

In many of the screens, the guards got out of the screens very suddenly.

As if they were yanked out of position by soone.

He let go of his hand and walked closer to the control panel.

"What?" Wendy asked as she saw Charles staring intensely at the screens in front of him.

She turned and looked.

At the screen that showed what was happening outside of their office, the guards disappeared out of sight.

Just like the others.

They glanced at each other and then the door to their office opened.

A man in dark armor, with a lotus emblem on the left chest walked in.

He was holding a briefcase in his hand.

And with him, a soldier dressed in an untidy uniform followed the man.

"Lotus man, get it over and done with quickly.

"They have the access code to where The Southern Pillar is stored.

"I don’t want to have to get it from General Zephyr."

The man in dark armor narrowed his eyes and stared at the soldier in untidy uniform.

"Leeroy, I told you to call Ashen." Ashen said and raised his hands.

Charles pushed Wendy away and hurled a fireball at Ashen.

When the fireball ca close to Ashen, a dark opening appeared out of nowhere and the fireball went into it.

The dark opening closed back up and disappeared.

As if the fireball had never existed.

"Wendy, run! Let General Zephyr know!" Charles shouted at Wendy.

He didn’t know why the alarms didn’t sound.

Crack.
