Night felt euphoric and horrified at the exact sa ti.

He was deeply horrified because he had just watched a human head get eaten completely raw by his tiny fluffy friend without a second of hesitation.

But he felt incredibly euphoric because the sheer energy rushing into him beca so intense that his chubby cheeks flushed a bright healthy red.

He felt his fundantal connection to the Nightmare Domain grow significantly stronger.

He also clearly felt Eve, Lilith, and Death wash with relief when they saw Lucy finish off the attacker before a heavy wave of sharp jealousy hit them. Death easily projected the most intense envy of them all.

Are they getting stronger and more alive as I level up?

He couldn’t help but want to level up as fast as physically possible when that thought entered his mind.

Maybe in a few more levels his friends might actually be able to speak or act independently to beco their own complete people.

He desperately wanted them to beco the best versions of themselves and he genuinely felt more happiness from their enhancents than his own.

Then he noticed sothing floating inside his domain space. It was the severed head of the man they had just killed.

Reality violently hit him and all his euphoria vanished the mont he looked down at the headless corpse slumping onto his bedroom floor.

He didn’t feel much when it was just a mutant beast but seeing a slaughtered human made his stomach churn wildly until he bent over to puke.

Before he could actually be puke on the carpet Lucy quickly lunged forward and swallowed the rest of the bloody corpse in an absolute hurry so Night just ended up dry-heaving onto the empty yellow floor.

"Well there goes today’s midnight snack," Lucy complained.

Night was already feeling terrible and her cheeky teasing completely ticked him off. He glared at the dark wolf and suddenly jumped at her.

Lucy yelped in brief surprise at the sudden assault and bolted around the small room with Night frantically chasing her.

The chaotic cat-and-mouse ga only stopped when Night collapsed onto the floor panting heavily but the silly distraction successfully made his dark mood much better.

A dark portal suddenly opened and Lilith stepped out. She looked down at the panting boy and the smug wolf before calmly marching into the bathroom to fetch so towels and clean the ssy floor.

She definitely seed much more human and proactive now.

Night thanked her with a deeply embarrassed flush.

He used to throw up a lot back in the secret facility whenever the brutal experints pushed past his physical limits so having a soone clean up after him didn’t bother him much but it was still mortifying.

Lilith quickly dispersed into dark sparks to save his energy once the floor was spotless.

He checked his EV again.

[Energy Value (EV): 50.0]

He had to grimly admit that humans provided significantly more energy than beasts and his devouring speed had noticeably increased.

After chatting with Lucy for a bit to calm his nerves he went right back to sleep by ruthlessly using her as a giant fluffy stuffed toy. Since he knew Lucy could easily handle any more hotel assassins he felt much safer and his Beast Instincts finally settled down.

He decided to hold off on informing the bald hotel owner about the attack until the morning.

Nothing else happened for the rest of the night.

The sharp chi of the doorbell woke him up bright and early in the morning.

He yawned and pulled the door open fully expecting to see the sa masked waiter but this ti a perfectly normal middle-aged woman stood there with a fresh breakfast trolley.

She actually smiled and said you’re welco when he politely thanked her for the food.

When he casually asked where the previous waiter went she simply ntioned that he hadn’t shown up for his shift today.

After finishing his breakfast Night finally gathered the courage to inspect the fresh corpse floating inside his Nightmare Domain.

He was incredibly surprised because the severed head looked oddly familiar.

When he racked his brain to rember where he had seen those dull eyes he gasped in shock right alongside Lucy.

"It’s the waiter," Night whispered.

"We need to leave this place imdiately," Lucy urged from his shadow.

"To where though? Are you seriously suggesting the Academy? What makes you think that place will be any safer?"

"I know exactly what you an but this hotel has already been compromised," Lucy argued firmly. "We have absolutely no idea why he attacked you and we are completely in the dark here. We have to move."

And just like that Night packed his few belongings which were just the clothes he recieved yesterday and left the room.

When he reached the ground floor lobby Rogan looked up from his cigar and asked, "Heading off to the Academy already kid?"

"Yes I figured it’s much better to go there as soon as possible," Night replied smoothly.

The old man looked at him for a long mont before dramatically wiping away a fake tear.

"Oh how incredibly fast they grow up! If you ever need a safe place to stay in the future you can always co back here. It won’t be completely free next ti but I’ll be sure to give you a hefty discount."

Rik the monkey offered a toothy smile and a supportive little thumbs-up as Night walked out the front doors.

Night almost cringed when he heard a safe place to stay but he kept to himself since he didn’t know what the heck was going on.

He didn’t have to ask random strangers for directions this ti since Rogan had helpfully mapped out the route to the Academy.

Night soon stood before the towering iron gates of his new destination. He saw dozens of kids his own age and older bustling in and out of the courtyard while rows of anxious adults waited outside to drop them off.

It must be really nice to have normal parents to rely on, he thought with a tiny wistful sigh.

He looked up at the massive gold lettering bolted above the main gate that proudly read ’Human Vanguard Academy’.

Looking at that aggressively heroic na all Night could think was

Welco
