"Lis, does this Orlando guy have social anxiety?" Zhang nglong wondered if this humble and courteous deanor was directed only at him or others as well.
"Boss, you might not know this, but Mr. Orlando was originally the largest shareholder in our company, holding over 80% of the shares."
"Then how did those shares end up with my ancestor?" Zhang nglong asked curiously.
"Hold on," Lis operated sothing on her wrist, and the entire data space was shrouded in a purple data mbrane.
"What's this?"
"Don't worry, it's a privacy protection technology," Lis explained, "Any actions or words we have in this virtual space are imdiately deleted afterward, leaving no record."
"Wow, is it that secretive? Anyone unaware might think we're doing sothing unspeakable here."
Lis blushed instantly; this young boss sure wasn't shy about speaking his mind.
But if sothing indeed happened, she wouldn't mind at all.
"Go on," Zhang nglong sensed there might really be a story between his ancestor Zhang Kai and this Orlando fellow.
"I've only heard from the higher-ups in the company," Lis said, "This also involves the Princess of the Gala Cosmic Empire."
"Stop!" Zhang nglong patted his pocket, "Do we have snacks like seeds, drinks, popcorn?"
"What's that?"
"Nothing, just continue," Zhang nglong thought such advanced civilizations wouldn't have these things, "What is this Gala Cosmic Empire?"
"It's one of the ten oldest civilizations in the universe and a permanent mber of the Universal Alliance. Their civilization is almost ten tis larger than ours!"
Zhang nglong was surprised. Lancelot Company was one of the most powerful chanical civilizations, with territories a hundred tis the size of their Twin Whales Empire, and this Gala Cosmic Empire was ten tis bigger than the civilization where Lancelot was based—truly hard to imagine.
"The Princess of the Gala Cosmic Empire was born from their King and a Lord of an elven civilization. She naturally has the Gift of a Level Four life form, and is exceptionally beautiful, known as the most beautiful princess in the universe in the past three million years."
"I didn't know there were such titles in cosmic civilizations." Zhang nglong couldn't help but think of that small Island Country on Earth that claid to have the most beautiful people in thousands of years, but from his aesthetic view, they were all subpar, if not surgically enhanced.
"What's this got to do with my ancestor or Lancelot?"
"It's said that to find the perfect husband for his daughter, the ruler of Gala Cosmic Empire issued a call throughout the universe: anyone under a million years old could participate, but they had to be a martial artist."
"A martial arts competition for marriage, huh!"
"Back then, Mr. Orlando was reportedly the most likely to seize the opportunity. He defeated countless competitors and made it to the finals, only to encounter a dark horse."
"My ancestor?"
"Exactly," Lis said, "Mr. Orlando was under a million years old and was already a Level Seven life form, excellent in both martial arts and managent. Among people his age, not many even reached Level Six."
"What about my ancestor?"
"Before this, Mr. Zhang Kai had no reputation at all; no one even knew which civilization he ca from or what his full na was," Lis stated, "Even to this day, Mr. Zhang Kai's abilities are a mystery."
"Looks like my ancestor won."
"Yes, he won without suspense. With just one punch, he defeated Mr. Orlando, a Level Seven life form," Lis said, "Yet Mr. Zhang Kai was very low-key, disdainful of interviews by cosmic dia, and even refused to show his face."
"And the Princess?"
"Mr. Zhang Kai stayed with the Princess for just one night, then left."
"Whoa! A real player there!" Zhang nglong couldn't believe his ancestor was such a playboy, imagining countless won across the universe were left heartbroken those two thousand years, "The King of Gala Cosmic Empire could tolerate this?"
"We're not sure, but supposedly the King searched for him for a long ti, and eventually the matter was left unresolved."
"But what does this have to do with the company's shares?" Zhang nglong was puzzled.
"That's an even bigger secret," Lis explained, "Afterward, Mr. Orlando was unwilling to accept defeat and gathered all Level Six life forms from the Xiyushan Cosmic Empire to ambush Mr. Zhang Kai."
"Isn't that like searching for a turd in the dark?" Zhang nglong thought his parents, who were just fifty, were already keen on challenging that level nine life form, Hongjun ancestor.
Zhang Kai must have been over a thousand years old at that ti, his abilities... who knows if there were even levels ten or eleven above level nine.
Not to ntion every high-level life form in an entire Cosmic Empire, even several hundred Level Eights and Nines would be no match.
Perhaps the King of Gala Cosmic Empire couldn't take him down either and had to swallow his pride.
"Back then, no one knew exactly what happened, but afterward, Mr. Orlando disappeared for hundreds of years. So suspected he died, while others believed he was wounded and recovering. But now it seems the latter possibility is more likely."
"I see," Zhang nglong finally understood why he was so naturally adept at extorting people; it turns out such a gift and instinct were embedded in his DNA!
"My ancestor was so generous, leaving him so many shares," Zhang nglong muttered to himself, "If I were him, I would've left him at most 0.1%, if I felt like it."
"Alright," Zhang nglong finished the story, "Help
arrange the color correction; how long will it take to deliver to the Izek civilization of the Twin Whales Empire?"
"One mont," Lis quickly calculated, "At our transport ship's maximum speed, it should take about three Cosmic Days."
"That's quite fast," Zhang nglong nodded, "Let's go with that!"
Before Zhang nglong left, he still planned to buy so things; after all, he needed to prepare to bring back a battleship to Earth, and he hadn't bought Earth's ownership yet.
Three Cosmic Days wasn't too long.
...
Xiyushan Cosmic Empire.
Orlando wiped the sweat from his brow. In the short few minutes of this communication, he felt more anxious than when he was besieged by enemies tens of thousands of years ago.
From hundreds of Cosmic Years ago, he clearly rembered a scene.
"Jassi!"
A person imdiately appeared next to Orlando, surprisingly also a Level Six life form!
"Master!" The person nad Jassi supported Orlando, "Has your old injury flared up again?"
"My injury can never heal," Orlando said, "The descendant of that person has appeared!"
"That person?" Upon hearing those three words, Jassi's body froze.
At the height of the Xiyushan Cosmic Empire, besides Orlando, the Level Seven life form, there were dozens of Level Six life forms. But now, only Jassi remained.
"Master, you've already transferred those shares to him; he shouldn't pursue us further, right?" Jassi asked worriedly.
"I don't know," Orlando shook his head, "But no matter what, it's best to stay away from anyone associated with him."
"What do you plan to do?"
"From today on, if anyone seeks
out, tell them I'm in closed-door training. If that person claims the surna Zhang, tell them I'm dead!"
