"Dean, it looks like that Lord's youngest son has taken a liking to you."
"Taken a liking to ?" Zhang nglong instinctively perford a kegel exercise.
"Not in that way," Gou Dan said with an exasperated tone, "he seems to be trying to cozy up to you."
"Cozy up to
for what?" Zhang nglong asked curiously, "I'm just a penniless guy right now, can't even afford to park a spaceship."
"Dean, you just released so of your own power, I guess that Ireel must have felt it," Gou Dan said.
"Just that? And he wants to cozy up to
because of it?"
"Dean, you have no idea," Gou Dan explained, "even a Level Two civilization's Lord, at best, would be Level Four life forms, and according to so data I just collected, in the entire Izek civilization, there's only one Level Four life form—the Civilization Lord, that is."
"That weak?" Zhang nglong couldn't help but show a look of disdain. And this is an Advanced Civilization?
"Give
a break, Dean. Do you think every civilization is like your Earth?" Gou Dan scoffed, "Without the Super God Academy, the strongest on Earth would rely be Level Two life forms at best. That's the level a Level One civilization should be at."
"And why should I be humble about the kingdom that my ancestors fought for with their own skill?"
...
Transportation from Izek civilization's satellite to their howorld was via large spaceships, acting like shuttle buses.
The spaceship was fast and very stable, and the fee was included in the parking deposit. It took Zhang nglong only ten minutes to enter the atmosphere of the Izek civilization.
From high above, Zhang nglong saw for the first ti what a Level Two civilization was really like. Scenes from sci-fi movies were almost entirely replicated in this city brimming with a sense of technology.
Those intricate overhead rail systems, the tallic skyscrapers, and the transportation vehicles he had never seen before—they all wildly assaulted Zhang nglong's visual limits.
At this mont, he could think of no other adjective than "aweso."
"Dean, on most planets with High-Grade Civilizations, you're not allowed to fly around at will!"
Zhang nglong was about to take off when Gou Dan imdiately stopped him.
"Then how am I supposed to get there?" Zhang nglong was dumbfounded. On this planet, there was only one virtual branch of the Cosmic Bank, which according to the map, was almost on the other side of the planet.
"The electromagnetic railcar," Gou Dan said, "those tracks above us. Traveling at normal speed, it'll take at most an hour or two to get there. It's just as convenient as the subway on Earth."
"Good grief," Zhang nglong had never heard of any subway that could travel half the planet's circumference in one or two hours. In that ti, he could only travel from the starting station of Line One to the endpoint in Jiangnan City.
"Wait, where are you going?" Gou Dan asked.
"Obviously, to take that electromagnetic railcar!"
"You got money for it? Even just to ride the railcar? Although it's part of the public transportation and pretty cheap, it still costs money!"
"My bad," Zhang nglong patted his totally empty pocket, realizing money makes the world go round. If he had to walk there, it would be dozens of tis farther than Tang Sanzang's journey to the West.
"Dean, there's no need for you to rush like this," Gou Dan opined, "even if you reach the bank, without a Universal Citizenship ID card, you won't be able to conduct any business anyway, and you might even get arrested for being undocunted—no one will bail you out this ti."
"This is way too troubleso, isn't it?" Zhang nglong was speechless. Did that an he couldn't do anything until he got his Universal Citizen ID card? Who knew when Ireel would get it done for him.
"Can't I handle it myself?"
"How can you do that when you haven't joined any mber civilization of the Universal Alliance?"
"Don't tell
that with such advanced cosmic civilizations, there aren't a few who make fake IDs?"
"Principal, don't judge cosmic civilizations by the standards of Earth; it makes you look pretty dumb," Gou Dan could barely tolerate Zhang nglong's ignorance of the wider world.
"Forget it, I just have to figure out a way to make money," Zhang nglong muttered to himself, "with all my incredible skills, I shouldn't have any problem making a living, right?"
"Principal, with your current skills in pharmacology and artifact refining, you would be considered a high-grade talent in any high-grade civilization and would be eligible for high-grade talent certification. But all of these require you to have a proper identity," Gou Dan said. "With your current situation, you have to make quick money!"
"Quick money?" Zhang nglong imdiately revealed a sleazy smile. "Like robbing a bank?"
"There are so ways of making money that are even faster than robbing banks!" Gou Dan said. "Isn't there sothing called 'stone gambling' on Earth?"
"You an to tell
that even such advanced civilizations still ss with that old-fashioned stuff? Seriously?" Zhang nglong teased. "With such high-level civilization, can't they see through those worthless rocks? That's too weak."
"The principle's similar, but it's a bit different," Gou Dan explained. "Diamonds and gold are worthless in cosmic civilizations. The most valuable things are energy crystals and rare tals, which must be refined from particular ores. As for energy crystals, they are naturally ford and contained within a type of Zidel ore."
"Energy crystals?"
"Ships from civilizations below Level Three or similar technological products are driven by chemical fuel or other forms of energy. But ships from civilizations beyond Level Three are powered by energy crystals. Moreover, energy crystals can not only be used as power sources but also to elevate life levels."
"Wow, sounds pretty badass," Zhang nglong said. He had read plenty of sci-fi and fantasy novels and had a rough idea of what these things were.
"However, this Zidel ore is very special. It is a product ford under high temperature and pressure during the cosmic big bang, containing a layer of dust from that era, which can almost block all electromagnetic wave detection. No technological ans can see whether there is a Cosmic Crystal inside."
"So what, I have superpowers? I don't understand this stuff either," Zhang nglong retorted.
"Ah, but you actually do have that superpower!" Gou Dan said. "Didn't you learn the Sharingan from Uchiha Itachi? Chakra is essentially a form of energy, enabling you to see through everything to its essence. It can also penetrate this dust cloud."
"Really?" At this, Zhang nglong perked up. The thought of making money was enough to wake him up!
"There's a problem, though," Gou Dan said. "You need capital to buy Zidel ore..."
"Then what's the point of bringing it up!" Zhang nglong was exasperated. "I might as well just go rob a bank!"
"Hold on!" Gou Dan suddenly had an idea. "Principal, isn't Ireel trying to cozy up to you? Just borrow so money from him!"
"Right, I can pay it back!" The thought straightened Zhang nglong's back instantly. If he could borrow money based on his abilities, why not do it?
He imdiately had Gou Dan try to contact Ireel, and in less than a few minutes, they got through.
"Brother Zhang nglong, are you encountering any difficulties?" Ireel's holographic image appeared in front of Zhang nglong.
"Uh, would it be convenient for you to lend
so money?" Zhang nglong asked. "I'll pay you back double! If you don't trust , I can pledge my spaceship to you!"
