Qin Ling’s tone was the sa as usual, “Oh, by the way, tomorrow I will be taking both of you to et an important guest.”
Qin Ling didn’t tell Ye Zhi the identity of the guest in question as she hung up after speaking.
Ye Zhi and Gu Ren looked at each other; they both saw emotions of doubt flash in each other’s eyes.
For so unknown reason, Ye Zhi felt a slightly strange sensation, but she couldn’t point out what was bothering her. With that, Gu Ren and Ye Zhi decided to go to Qin Ling’s place tomorrow to find out what’s going on.
The next morning.
Nie Jiqing arrived at Qin Ling’s house early in the morning.
There was still a long ti before Ye Zhi was scheduled to co over, but Nie Jiqing couldn’t sit still at all as she was undoubtedly restless. From ti to ti, she would go to the window to see if there was a car approaching the house.
Nie Jiqing’s anxiousness almost rubbed off of Qin Ling. Not wanting her to panic anymore than she already was, she imdiately got up and pulled Nie Jiqing onto the sofa to sit down, “Don’t worry, Ye Zhi will be here soon.”
For Nie Jiqing, the passage of ti seed to have stopped.
When Nie Jiqing’s nerves were at their most tense monts, the doorbell rang. Despite only managing to let out a sigh of relief, she beca nervous again.
Qin Ling stood up to greet the guests and Nie Jiqing walked beside her.
As soon as the door opened, Ye Zhi and Gu Ren were revealed.
Gu Ren was tall and lean. His facial features were distinct as he carried himself with a fresh and noble aura. SImilar to a green fir tree, he stood by the door silently and calmly.
Ye Zhi stood beside him as her long, jet-black hair fell obediently on her shoulders. Every contour on her face was incomparably delicate, looking like the bright sunshine in the early days of spring.
The two stood side by side. One Yang and one Yin; one rigid and one soft. Their appearance was truly harmonious— the epito of an elegant and beautiful couple.
Nie Jiqing’s original nervousness was slightly relieved by her currently better mood.
The mont Ye Zhi saw Nie Jiqing, she was surprised. She didn’t expect that the important guest Qin Ling had ntioned was actually Nie Jiqing.
Gu Ren restrained his surprise. Though it was unexpected, he had already vaguely made a guess based on Qin Ling’s abnormal reactions in the past few days.
When Nie Jiqing saw Ye Zhi, she didn’t dare to go forward and she didn’t know where to start speaking.
Ye Zhi originally thought that she would treat Nie Jiqing with a normal ntality, but she didn’t expect that at this mont, she truly felt lost.
Perhaps it was because the mories of the original owner were still retained, or it could be because of her loneliness in her previous life that made her cherish every family relationship.
When she faced Nie Jiqing, she too, felt many complex emotions surge from within.
Ye Zhi opened her mouth and wanted to greet Mrs. Sheng, but she wondered if it was weird to call her that, so she pondered for a while, thinking of a way to address her.
The air was so quiet.
Qin Ling was the first to break the silence. She pulled Ye Zhi and Gu Ren in at once, “What are you doing standing at the door? Co in and talk.”
The table was already full of food, but no one was in the mood to eat now.
They walked to the living room and sat down as Nie Jiqing sat next to Ye Zhi. Qin Ling didn’t intend to waste any ti either, so she spoke directly.
“Ye Zhi, I want to tell you sothing. Your real na is Sheng Luo, and you are the daughter of the Sheng family who disappeared many years ago.”
