Ye Zhi vaguely felt that Gu Ren was behaving strangely tonight.
Ye Zhi lowered her head to eat. She didn’t realize that Gu Ren had been looking at her thoughtfully. His eyes showed a firm determination and it seed that he had co to an important decision.
After dinner, Gu Ren didn’t let Ye Zhi go upstairs but took her to the living room.
After they sat on the sofa, Gu Ren put the gift box on the table. Ye Zhi raised her eyes to look at Gu Ren and asked, “What is this?”
Gu Ren’s thin lips curled upward and his clear voice sounded: “A gift.”
Ye Zhi suddenly realized: “Yes, I have been busy with work these days and haven’t had ti to spend money.”
Gu Ren was stunned at first before he quickly clarified, “No.”
Ye Zhi repeated Gu Ren’s words: “No?”
“It has nothing to do with the Gu family or you helping withstand the disaster.” Gu Ren’s eyes contained unusual warmth in them.
“I want to give you this gift…”
“As a woman I like.” His voice was warm and gentle. He said every word clearly.
Gu Ren’s lips once again moved: “Are you willing to accept such a gift?”
Ye Zhi was dumbstruck and didn’t know how to react. The room was very quiet. She looked at Gu Ren who was outlined by the moonlight. She clearly heard each word.
Gu Ren said that this gift was for the woman he liked.
Ye Zhi was still in a daze. Her lips tightened slightly while her brain suddenly went blank.
Gu Ren’s slender fingers gently touched the gift box and slowly pushed it towards Ye Zhi. Each second was extrely precious for him right now.
“I’ve been wanting to ask you a question for a while.” Gu Ren stared at Ye Zhi with strong emotions surging in his heart.
“Do you know my life has gradually changed after I t you?” Gu Ren said, “I really want to grasp this feeling.”
“Our contract is for only one year. I promised you that we could get a divorce after one year… But now, I suddenly don’t want to let go of you.”
Ye Zhi’s heart jumped and her ears began to heat up. It was unknown whether it was because it was too hot in the living room or there were so other reasons behind it.

“From today, I will officially start pursuing you.”
Gu Ren said the second half of the sentence in his heart: Until you agreed.
Ye Zhi looked at Gu Ren. When they first t, he always had an indifferent expression on his face, making people stay away from him. However, the current man sitting in front of her had a gentle expression and felt like soone within her reach.
Gu Ren gently opened the gift box. Inside it was a delicately designed bracelet. It was unlike his past gifts as it contained his feelings for Ye Zhi.
Gu Ren said: “You still have half a year to think about it.”
So we still have a long way to go.
It was getting late, Ye Zhi returned to her room with the bracelet still in her hand. She washed her face with cold water, making sure she was clear headed before she laid in bed.
The snow outside had gotten heavy, and was hitting the window in soft thuds. Ye Zhi flipped back and forth around in her bed, unable to fall asleep.
