Standing outside the fence, you could still sense the flow of Yin Ghost Qi spilling out from inside the walls.
The master of the Western-style house clearly had no intention of covering up this aura and seed totally unconcerned about the presence of people from the Taoism Sect.
According to Grandma ng’s previous statent, you were currently facing a Ghost King. You had seen the strength of the Ghost King in the Heavenless Hell before, and at that ti, you had no power to fight against him.
Even now, though your strength had sowhat improved from before, you were very aware that your chances of victory in a direct confrontation with the Ghost King were very low, very low indeed.
That’s precisely why you had gone to great lengths, gathering seventy percent of the supernatural detective society’s mbers and spending an entire week preparing this setup.
At this mont, standing outside the fence of this Western-style house enveloped in ghostly Qi, you were waiting, or rather, waiting for soone.
About five minutes later, a comrcial van drove up.
When the vehicle stopped, Xiao Feng stepped out carrying two large bags of rice. Following him, Lei Jianhua erged, surprisingly holding a plastic bucket filled to the brim with incense ash!
"Why did you prepare so much? You didn’t bring all the incense ash from Lingyin Temple, did you?"
Putting down the heavy rice bags, Xiao Feng spoke with a grin, "At first, they didn’t want to give it to us, but when they heard we were going to use the incense ash to punish ghosts, the monks didn’t hesitate and filled it up completely. Before we left, they even added, ’If it’s not enough, co back for more.’
Lei Jianhua also nodded with a smile, "It’s clear that those monks really despise ghosts."
Looking at you, Xiao Feng asked, "Little Yunyun, how do we use this stuff?"
"Wait for my signal, and as soon as it cos, smash all the incense ash into this Western-style house in front of us."
"Smash?"
"No kidding, otherwise why would I have you put the incense ash in rice bags instead of up your ass?"
Throwing Xiao Feng a displeased glance, you then turned to Lei Jianhua and said, "Mix the ash in the bucket with water and sprinkle it around the fence of the Western-style house. If there’s any excess, sprinkle a bit more."
"Alright!"
Looking back at the Western-style house in front of you, you took a deep breath, "This is the first ti in my life I’m this nervous. Knowing full well that the other party is tough, I’m still stupidly charging in to court death, sigh!"
With those words, you backed up a dozen steps. Seeing this, Xiao Feng imdiately ran to the corner of the wall, adopted a horse stance, and crossed his hands in front of his abdon.
Seeing Xiao Feng ready, you quickly stepped forward, dashing toward Xiao Feng. Your right foot stepped on his hands, and then Xiao Feng threw you upward, allowing you to effortlessly flip over the tall fence.
Lei Jianhua, seeing this, couldn’t help but interject, "Vice-president, doesn’t the president have the Heavenly Ascension Spell? For a fence of this height, two pieces of talisman paper could have done the job, right?"
Xiao Feng was stunned for a mont, then slapped the dirt and dust off his hands and complained, "Damn, that guy tricked !"
As for Zhao’er, she made no movents except for a slight point of her foot, and her body glided up gracefully, flipping over the fence like a fairy with fluttering sleeves and landing inside.
Seeing Zhao’er had followed you in, you whispered to her, "No matter what happens later, don’t act without my signal, okay?"
You intentionally added a query to your tone, precisely because you truly regarded Zhao’er as a person with her own will.
"Hmm."
Zhao’er nodded, and though her response to your queries had always been the sa, for so unfathomable reason, this ti you felt that she truly sensed your earnestness.
Within and beyond the wall lay two utterly distinct worlds, and upon entry, you imdiately felt an icy chill enveloping you, as if in the depths of winter.
This place...
It was indeed surprising.
You had originally thought that the Western-style building’s wall was rely a barrier for a formation, but it never crossed your mind that you would actually step into another world.
Just then, the firmly shut doors of the Western-style building slowly swung open, and a shadowy figure floated out, standing at the doorway and bowing slightly to you and Zhao’er, "Honored guests grace us with their presence, forgive our lack of reception."
You were well aware that from the mont you climbed over the wall, you were in another world, also known as the Yinyang Realm.
Of course, the Ghost King and small ghosts inside the mansion had limited capabilities. They had carved a niche into the corner of the Yinyang Realm, incorporating the mansion within it. This arrangent not only allowed them to seek refuge and avoid capture by the Ghosts, but it also kept the Taoists at bay.
The Yinyang Realm is a very unique existence, situated between the realms of Yin and Yang, not under the jurisdiction of the Underworld, nor within the boundaries of the Yang Realm, making it a lawless area.
The Yinyang Realm is fragnted and scattered; it is not a unified world. Much like a shattered pane of glass, it is dispersed in every corner of the world, and each piece of that broken glass is called the Yinyang Realm.
Normally, no one wishes to enter this no man’s land, because here, no beliefs hold sway, everything is settled by force!
Now that you were already inside, there was no reason to leave. Moreover, all of this was for Zhao’er!
Rallying your spirits, you returned the shadow’s bow with a slight nod, smiling as you said, "I apologize for the intrusion. May I ask if your master is in?"
The shadow’s face was obscured, but her voice revealed she was a woman, "The master has been awaiting your visit for so ti."
The Ghost King was indeed a Ghost King. You thought your actions were hidden, but the other had already seen through all your movents clearly.
Taking Zhao’er with you, you followed the shadowy figure into the Western-style building.
Upon entering, the scene inside transford completely. The narrow corridor you first saw turned into a spacious gallery, the kind that was most common in the ancient hos of wealthy Chinese, with a white wall on the left side of the gallery, on which hung carved windows and various paintings and calligraphy works of high taste.
Passing through the gallery, an archway appeared at the end of your line of sight.
Another scene unfolded behind the archway.
First, there was an empty space where a thirteen- or fourteen-year-old boy played with two girls dressed as maids; not far off stood a pavilion, and seated inside was a dignified and graceful woman. She wore no extravagant adornnts on her head, dressed elegantly and appropriately, her attire that of a noblewoman from the Han Dynasty.
As you entered through the arch, your gaze was instantly drawn to the noble and beautiful woman.
Of course, your interest was not due to her charming appearance, for when it ca to looks, no one wielded greater influence than Zhao’er; rather, it was because she emanated an incredibly dense Ghost Qi!
"Madam, the honored guest has arrived."
The shadowy figure floated to the side of the dignified lady, bowing gracefully.
The latter lifted her head slightly, glancing your way.
It was just a glance, but in that mont, you felt your heart stir, your composure thrown into disarray, and soon, you felt as though you were floating toward a state of ethereal bliss!
