But then again, what does it matter?

If a person always counts the gains and losses in everything they do, there is no aning in living.

You looked at the person by your side and smiled.

No matter what, she was still Zhao’er, your Zhao’er.

You slightly opened your mouth and bit off half of a hawthorn from the sugar-coated haw skewer that Zhao’er handed to you, while Zhao’er unhesitatingly took the other half into her mouth.

And this action, typically shared between lovers, naturally caught the eyes of ng Xiao and a man in white who happened to walk by at that mont.

ng Xiao, gazing at Zhao’er whose figure haunted his dreams, couldn’t help but give a bitter smile and said to the man in white beside him, "White, the girl you ntioned, it wouldn’t be Zhao’er sitting there eating skewered candy haws, would it?"

"Zhao’er?"

Upon hearing this, the man in white savored the na, then a smile that could fascinate any woman surfaced on his handso face, "Nice na."

"Co on, I’ll take you to et them," he said.

But the man in white shook his head, "No need."

ng Xiao looked at the man in white, a thoughtful expression on a face that could make any self-proclaid pretty boy feel embarrassed, "White, I think you can see that she’s already spoken for."

The gaze of the man in white shifted from Zhao’er, his smile growing even brighter, "ng Xiao, I am not you. In my life, I have always been the one in charge, my destiny is in my own hands!"

With that, the man in white turned around dashing and strode away.

ng Xiao was about to follow him when you, seated inside the noodle shop, caught a glimpse of his retreating figure and waved at him, calling out, "Hey, Old ng, over here!"

ng Xiao’s stride halted, and he turned around with a slightly astonished look on his face. It was true that no one had ever used "Old ng" to address him before.

Seeing ng Xiao walking over with a sowhat awkward expression, you stood up with a laugh and clapped him on the shoulder like an old friend, introducing him to the three won with Wu Qiyi, "Ladies, allow to introduce to you, this is..."

"ng Xiao, the direct eldest grandson of the old and established ng family of Yenjing, one of the Four Young Masters of Capital," Xi Yu interjected.

Wu Qiyi put down her chopsticks and added, "Naturally intelligent and fond of learning from a young age, he was apprenticed to a dical titan at the age of five, studied dicine for fifteen years, and has won multiple international dical awards."

Xian Qianling looked at you, who was sowhat stunned, and teased, "You blockhead, not even knowing the Four Young Masters of Capital."

"Uh... well... I’m Sculpted Silk, so it’s normal not to recognize the Four Young Masters of Capital," you replied nonchalantly with a smile, then asked ng Xiao, "Old ng, eting like this must be fate, co on, sit down and have a bowl of beef noodles."

"Dumb, he’s one of the Four Young Masters of Capital. Normally, the least he’d frequent are star-rated hotels. He wouldn’t even set foot in such a small noodle shop," Xian Qianling teased you again.

In contrast to your thick-skinned self, ng Xiao was sowhat embarrassed, especially after seeing Wu Qiyi and Xian Qianling.

He greeted the two won with a smile, "I never expected to encounter you two here. What a coincidence."

Xian Qianling obviously had no interest in ng Xiao and responded nonchalantly while continuing to eat her beef noodles, "Yeah, and believe it or not, the beef noodles here really do taste quite good."

Wu Qiyi smiled politely and asked, "Young Master ng, what brings you to Yuhang?"

ng Xiao glanced at Zhao’er and seeing that she was focused on her skewered candy haws, which seed more attractive to her than he was, he sighed inwardly and replied with a polite smile, "I’ve just returned to the country. There’s a dical conference happening in Yuhang soon, and I’ve been invited to attend."

However, ng Xiao quickly realized that he didn’t expect the Young Master of the Luanfeng Pavilion to be sitting in such a humble noodle shop.

Xian Qianling saw right through ng Xiao’s thoughts and said directly, "Stop wondering. The four of us are college roommates and besties. We got tired from strolling the lantern market, and so Sculpted Silk guy dragged us here for noodles."

And "a certain Sculpted Silk guy", that’s you, didn’t feel even a hint of discomfort from Xian Qianling’s cold mockery. Instead, you grinned and said to ng Xiao, "Old ng, since you all know each other, why not sit down and have a chat? Who knows, you might just figure out life as you talk."

"He’s not my type." Xian Qianling dismissed ng Xiao with a single sentence.

"Clearly, our Miss only has eyes for Mr. Li."

Never a dull mont with these bombshells!

You finally understood the true aning behind the na "Xi Yu"!

ng Xiao, of course, chose to ignore what Xian Qianling said, but Xi Yu’s words stirred a thousand waves in his heart!

He had never imagined that even the Young Master of the Luanfeng Pavilion, well-known in international high society, would fall for you!

To confirm this, ng Xiao quickly turned his head to look at Wu Qiyi.

As expected!

In Wu Qiyi’s clear, rippling eyes, ng Xiao saw a depth of affection that was puzzling to others but which he could deeply relate to.

After his surprise, ng Xiao stared at you, completely transfixed.

"Hey, bro, I’m not into that sort of thing!"

ng Xiao patted you lightly on the shoulder and sighed slightly, "Mr. Li."

"Hmm?"

Seeing the disdain on your face, ng Xiao couldn’t help but laugh and cry as he said "Take care of yourself," and then turned to walk away.

"What was that about?" you frowned, watching ng Xiao’s departing figure, "Hey, Old ng, what do you an by that?"

ng Xiao didn’t look back, nor did he clarify things. Actually, he had a slight ulterior motive; by not telling you about the man in white, he wanted to use this opportunity to test how genuine your feelings were for Zhao’er.

Even though he knew Zhao’er had never had a place for him in her heart, he genuinely hoped she could find happiness.

After ng Xiao left, you chatted for a bit longer in the small noodle shop, and by then the rain outside had stopped.

"The rain has stopped, we should get going," Xian Qianling said as she stood up first, still feeling the night was young.

You looked at your watch and realized that it was past seven o’clock, and in an hour or so, Zhao’er would be going to bed.

Just as you stepped out of the noodle shop and were about to speak to the three ladies, you suddenly heard a familiar sound nearby: "Thump, thump thump..."

"It’s her!" You blurted out without thinking.

"What’s wrong?" Wu Qiyi was standing right next to you. Seeing the joy on your face, she naturally asked.

"She’s here!" You turned to look at Zhao’er and smiled, "Zhao’er, let’s go, I’ll take you to et Grandma!"

"Grandma? What Grandma?" Xian Qianling quickly asked.

You then realized that Wu Qiyi and the others were not aware of Grandma ng’s existence. Scratching your head, you told them, "We’re going to et an old senior who helped out a lot in the past!"
