"Are we lost?"
"It wouldn’t be good to be lost."
"Do you need brother to show you the way?"
Six n quickly surrounded you, each of them salivating unconsciously as they spoke, like animals in heat.
You looked up slightly and asked with a smile, "Are you locals?"
"Of course, we’ve grown up here since we were kids."
"Oh, I see. Well, that’s perfect. We want to go to Huayang Peak; can you lead the way?"
"Lead the way? Sure, sure."
As he spoke, the three n next to Wu Qiyi and Xi Yu naturally leaned in closer.
Seeing Xi Yu ready to act, the Sen Luo Curse Mark in your eyes suddenly flashed forth, and the curse mark appeared simultaneously in the pupils of all six n. They halted their actions and turned around to stare blankly at you.
"What are you looking at for? Take us to Huayang Peak. I don’t want to stay overnight on the mountain, although it wouldn’t be too bad with two beauties for company."
The six n still didn’t speak, slowly coming together and continuing along the path ahead.
"Huh? Who would’ve thought we’d accidentally find our way."
Wu Qiyi smiled as she looked at you.
Seeing you shrug, Xi Yu said, "Master Li is getting more and more skilled at controlling the Sen Luo Eye, it’s a lot more convenient than fighting."
You said with a laugh, "People are forced into it. If not for all that has happened recently, I’d probably still be at the fumbling stage. Still, the Sen Luo Eye is infinitely wonderful, and what I know now is rely scratching the surface."
With that, you looked up at the sky, lucky that it was currently sunny, the best weather you’d had since the cold wave had moved south.
Now the whole Mount Sanqing was covered in white snow, and you three were walking on a mountain path with at least a dozen centiters of accumulated snow.
The six n ahead were walking in a single file on the path, their footsteps alternating between deep and shallow. It was fortunate that they were leading the way, making your walk behind them relatively easier.
You had thought that Huayang Peak would be one of those towering and majestic mountains, but in reality, Huayang Peak turned out to be an inconspicuous little hill among the deep mountains.
After walking for about an hour or so, you three, guided by the six n, arrived at a relatively secluded place.
It was called relatively secluded because there was actually a small village in the midst of these deep mountains.
Following that, the six n stood in a row, like a troop ready for inspection, each with an expressionless face, staring straight ahead.
Now that you had reached your destination, there was no need for them to stay any longer, so you had them turn around and go back the way they ca.
The village wasn’t big, but the houses were quite scattered. As you rounded a hillock, you happened to see an old man with white hair shoveling snow. He was quite old and looked very strained.
You hurried over and said to the old man with a smile, "Grandpa, let do it."
The white-haired old man glanced at you and said with a smile, "Young man, it’s so cold; why aren’t you going over there to see the sights and monunts? What brings you to this ravine?"
After taking the shovel from the old man, you started shoveling snow with deft movents, while Wu Qiyi and Xi Yu took the opportunity to walk up and greet the old man.
"Good job, young man, you’re quite adept."
The old man patted your shoulder with a chuckle as you quickly cleared a path through the snow in his yard.
"I’ve never shoveled snow before, but it’s the sa principle as shoveling dirt or sand. I did a lot of this kind of physical work when I was a kid."
The white-haired old man nodded and smiled, asking, "Where are you from, young man?"
You replied with a smile, "We’re all from Yuhang."
"Yuhang? That’s a good place." The old man looked toward Wu Qiyi and Xi Yu, smiling and saying, "No wonder these two girls are so pretty and lively, are they both your girlfriends?"
He scratched his head, sowhat embarrassedly saying, "I don’t have such good fortune. I’m here today to find soone."
"Find soone? Do you have relatives here?"
"No, to be precise, we are looking for a Taoist Priest."
"A Taoist Priest?" The white-haired elder laughed, "In our little village here, what Taoist Priest? If you want to find a Taoist Priest, you should go to the other side of the mountain, there are plenty of them there."
"Elder, we are looking for a hermit Taoist Priest who goes by the na Taoist Qingyun. Do you know him?"
Looking at you, the white-haired elder asked with a smile, "What do you need him for?"
Oh?
From the old man’s words, there seed to be a chance!
"We need him to take a look at sothing."
The white-haired elder pondered for a mont, then turned and walked towards his wooden and tiled house.
"Elder."
You hurriedly called out to the white-haired man.
He turned around and said to you with a smile, "Why stand around? Co in, it’s freezing cold out here, and you’ve all had quite the journey."
"Ah, thank you, Elder!"
The three of you followed the white-haired elder into the house.
The structure of the house was simple, furnished with very ordinary furniture; from the exterior, one could not tell any secrets it might hold.
However, the more ordinary it appeared, the more you believed that the old man in front of you was Taoist Qingyun.
The elder lit the stove in the room, inviting the three of you to sit around it.
Wu Qiyi and Xi Yu were dressed warmly, their clothes and shoes made from the best insulating materials of the ti, and combined with their strong constitutions, they didn’t feel cold; whereas you were still in autumnal attire. Previously, on the ascent up the mountain, while so were looking at Wu Qiyi and Xi Yu, there were also those who paid attention due to the curiosity raised by your clothes.
"Elder, are you Taoist Qingyun?"
You asked tentatively.
The white-haired elder smiled, "Young man, bring out what you ntioned."
Nodding, you took out the Silk book from your bosom and handed it to the white-haired elder.
He opened the Silk book and read it carefully. After about two to three minutes, the white-haired elder sighed softly, "Ti flies, beauty fades, I never thought that this artifact could have been preserved so well after more than a thousand years."
"Elder, what exactly is written inside this?"
The white-haired elder did not imdiately answer you but instead turned to Wu Qiyi and Xi Yu to ask, "Which one of you two is a descendant of the Wu Family?"
"I am," Wu Qiyi replied softly.
The white-haired elder looked her up and down, then casually ford a Hand seal and flicked a golden light spot from his fingers on top of Wu Qiyi’s head.
After the golden light spot entered Wu Qiyi’s body, you were astonished to see a black orb appear above her head, emitting an aura that instinctively made you feel slightly afraid.
"This..."
"This is the Soul Devouring Curse," the white-haired elder sighed lightly. "I never would have thought that the legend recorded in the ancient master’s letter was true, that the Empress was indeed afflicted with the Soul Devouring Curse."
You looked at the white-haired elder and asked anxiously, "Taoist Priest, you must have a way to remove this Soul Devouring Curse, right?"
The white-haired elder was silent for a mont, then said to you, "It’s not that there isn’t a way, but the curse has existed for a very long ti and has nearly reached full strength. To break this Soul Devouring Curse, soone must risk their life, integrating their own soul into the curse to break it as an outsider."
You imdiately patted your chest and said, "That’s no problem, I can do it!"
