You and Xiao Feng imdiately drove to Wang Xiaohan’s ho. Wei Shuxian didn’t specify over the phone, just told you to hurry out as fast as you could.

Just as you parked the car in front of Wang Xiaohan’s sister-in-law’s shop, Wei Shuxian ca hurrying out: "Old Shu, Madman, we’ve got a big problem."

Xiao Feng imdiately asked, "What happened?"

Wei Shuxian, vexed, scratched his head and said to you, "Sigh, co inside and I’ll explain."

Entering the house, you saw Wang Xiaohan’s brother, Wang Zimo, sitting on a stool with his left arm injured. Chen Qingzhu was carefully treating his wound and then bandaging it.

"Who injured Brother Wang?" Xiao Feng turned his head to look at Wei Shuxian.

"Three people of unknown origin, each one very powerful. Brother Wang fought them one against three and barely managed to fend them off. As they left, they said this wasn’t over and that they’d definitely bring more people over."

Wang Xiaohan quickly walked over, her gaze pleading as she looked at you: "Chairman, you must save my brother!"

Patting Wang Xiaohan on the shoulder, you moved past her and walked up to Wang Zimo, speaking softly, "Brother Wang, before we discuss our plan, shouldn’t you first reveal your true identity to us?"

Wang Zimo looked up at you with a wry smile: "Little Han always said that Chairman Li was a remarkable person with eyes that could see through everything. Seeing it for myself today, it really is true."

Your conversation left those around you sowhat confused, especially Wang Xiaohan, who was concerned about her brother’s health. She stood next to Chen Qingzhu and asked you, "Brother, Chairman, what are you talking about?"

"Ever since the first day I saw Brother Wang, I sensed a very odd aura about him, like that of neither ghost nor demon, both righteous and evil." Upon hearing this, everyone was surprised, and you continued, "A few days ago, I ca across a notebook in a private exhibition hall’s collection, which ntioned a pervasive yet secretive group of people, referred to in the book as Soul Hunters."

As you said this, the others couldn’t help but turn their heads to look at Wang Zimo, waiting for his explanation.

Wang Zimo sighed lightly, "There’s nothing worth hiding now. As Chairman Li said, I am indeed a Soul Hunter."

"Old Shu, what does a Soul Hunter do?" Xiao Feng asked.

"The book didn’t go into much detail. I think it’s better if Brother Wang explains it. I’m actually quite interested in this profession myself."

"All right," Wang Zimo said with a smile, "Actually, Soul Hunters aren’t as mysterious as Chairman Li says. We’re just a group of people who live on the edges of society. ’Hunting souls’ has many anings, and depending on the path chosen, the nature of the job can differ. For instance, I signed a contract with the Underworld to carry out tasks for them, while there are others hired by employers from the Yang Realm to hunt and capture the souls of the living for money; such Soul Hunters are generally wanted by the Underworld, so they are few in number, but each one of them possesses terrifying power. Soul Hunters usually don’t have a permanent family, which is determined by the profession; after all, being a Soul Hunter is a high-risk job, and one could lose their life at any mont."

Wei Shuxian stroked his chin, "So, Brother Wang and the Kan Family Brothers are both underworld enforcent officers, huh?"

"The Kan Family Brothers?" Wang Zimo paused, then asked with a look of surprise, "Shuxian, are the Kan Family Brothers you ntioned Kan Zihui and Kan Zihuang?"

"Right, Brother Wang, do you know them?"

Wang Zimo nodded, "The Kan Family Brothers are favorites in front of the Yuhang City God. Their strength is profound, and most Soul Hunters would rather avoid them."

"Brother Wang, since you’re also from the Underworld, even if you’re just a contract worker, you’re still considered half a governnt runner. Why would soone cause trouble for you?"

Wang Zimo sighed heavily upon hearing your question, "In the hierarchy of Soul Hunters, my strength is just average, so the tasks I take on aren’t dangerous. Normally, Soul Hunters work alone, until three years ago, a gang of Soul Hunters suddenly targeted and forcibly recruited into their group. I had no choice but to follow them for the ti being. And these people, they completely disregard the law and humanity, doing whatever they please. Later, an Underworld contact found and hoped I would beco their inside informant to capture the entire gang. They also promised that if I could complete this task, my contract with the Underworld would be deed fulfilled. Both I and my family would be blessed, and in the next life, we could be together."

Xiao Feng gave Wang Zimo a thumbs-up, "Brother Wang, a real man, truly honorable!"

Wang Zimo shook his head and bitterly smiled, "I’m just an insignificant pawn, doing things that shun the light. I’ve been undercover in that gang for three years, and finally, a month ago, the Hangzhou Netherworld made its move and rounded up the whole gang."

"That’s aweso!" Xiao Feng clapped his hands and asked, "Then what happened?"

"Although the gang was taken down, not all the mbers were captured. Over a dozen managed to escape disaster because they were out on missions. Sohow they got wind that I was the mole, so now they’re after for revenge," Wang Zimo explained.

"Since this matter is related to the Underworld, why not approach the Underworld enforcers again and have them clean up the loose ends?" you suggested, looking at Wang Zimo.

But Wang Zimo shook his head repeatedly, "The Underworld was thrown into chaos by a significant event recently. King Qinguang had to personally intervene and things have cald down for now, but many demons and monsters have escaped. Currently, with King Qinguang deploying the troops to pursue them, they hardly have ti to deal with my trivial issue."

You slightly furrowed your brows and asked, "What exactly happened in the Underworld?"

"I am not entirely sure myself," said Wang Zimo, "I only heard another Soul Hunter ntion it. He said it seed like the Emperor of the Dark Ghost Domain suddenly erged from the Netherworld. While passing through the Eighteen Levels of Hell, he caused so mischief as an aside, releasing so things from the Eighteen Levels of Hell."

"Just, just like that?" Xiao Feng swallowed hard, "From what you’ve said, isn’t that Emperor of the Dark Ghost Domain so kind of heaven-defying existence?"

"Heaven-defying? The Emperor of the Dark Ghost Domain is the sovereign of the Netherworld," Wang Zimo said, pointing upward, "Even the powers above hold him in great fear."

"These matters don’t concern us much, so let’s not discuss them too much. Right now, our main focus is to address the imdiate problem of Brother Wang." You paused and then asked Wang Zimo, "How many people are on their side?"

"There should be thirteen people. One of them is very strong, and I’m no match for him. I probably wouldn’t last ten moves against him," Wang Zimo replied.

You pondered for a mont, glanced around the room, and then turned to Wei Shuxian.

Seeing you staring straight at him, Wei Shuxian felt sowhat guilty and asked, "Old Shu, why are you looking at like that?"
