"Kill!!!"

The shouts of the enemy cavalry echoed right behind, as if a long spear would pierce through my back in the next second!

Even though I knew death was about to arrive, I was still running without strength.

The roar in my ears grew closer, and I only felt the Death God approaching incessantly. I dared not turn back, fearing that once I did, I would be shocked into immobility.

Soon enough, our cavalry swiftly brushed past . Following them were the enemy cavalry!

"Am I really going to die here?" At that mont, my mind went blank, and I finally mustered the courage to turn around. As I turned, my eyes fixed on a spear in a cavalryman’s hand, enlarging rapidly in my vision. The blood-stained tip and the red tassels, splattering with blood, ford a magnificent image, directly thrusting towards my body!

"Puff!" The long spear pierced into my chest!

The cavalryman, without even glancing at soone like among the infantry, was about to withdraw his spear when he suddenly realized a powerful grip holding the spear in place. As he turned his head, he felt his body lighten, and then he was sent flying! The cavalryman never saw my face clearly, and once he hit the ground, he was t with the galloping hooves of his comrades!

"I cannot die, I cannot die!" At that mont, I felt as if I had drunk so special potion, and my arms seed able to lift a thousand-pound weight!

After sending the cavalryman flying, I quickly moved forward, grabbed the neck of a riderless horse, and with firm steps, I leapt onto the horse’s back, galloping forward.

The enemy cavalry naturally saw this scene, and three of them rode in pursuit, raising their spears from three different directions towards . At this ti, I had no way to dodge; that burst of energy ca quickly and dissipated quickly, and now I felt like I was about to collapse, barely able to cling to the horse’s neck, and it was challenging just to keep on the horse’s back.

"Ambush ahead!"

Just then, rows of archers suddenly erged from the trees on both sides of the slope, and the sky was covered with a rain of arrows. The unprepared cavalry suffered heavy damage imdiately, and even the horse I was on got an arrow in its rear, causing the startled horse to race away wildly,

"The enemy has an ambush, retreat!"

Before I fell unconscious, I heard such a voice.

When I awoke again, the first thing I saw were tents and unfamiliar faces.

"Mu Yun, you’re awake?" Wang Xi’s voice ca from beside , and I struggled to sit up, looking at Wang Xi while also observing the surrounding environnt.

I was in a tent that wasn’t particularly large, accommodating about twenty people. Living here ant laying so dry hay and each making a simple bed, lying in two rows.

Though ventilated, the air inside the tent was still filled with a nauseating sll. Fortunately, my bed was near the tent’s entrance, allowing fresh air in occasionally, relieving so of my headache.

"Uncle Wang, did we win the battle?" I cared most about this matter because winning ant I could return to peaceful society.

Wang Xi heard my question, and with a bitter smile, he sighed heavily: "Yesterday was just a small skirmish. We’ve been fighting them for almost six months already, so it’s not so easy to determine a winner."

I was imdiately puzzled; I thought it was a battle of such scale, with at least tens of thousands of soldiers between both sides, yet Wang Xi called it a small skirmish. What would a large-scale battle be like?

Seeing my astonished expression, Wang Xi patted my shoulder: "You’ve just arrived at the camp. You’ll get used to it over ti. Ah, I don’t know how long this fighting will last."

"Old Wang, stop sighing. For us peasants, whether we live or die is just a matter of ti," said a man with a severed left hand next to Wang Xi.

Wang Xi remained heavy-hearted: "At my age, life or death doesn’t matter to , but I’m worried about my wife and two minors at ho."

"Who doesn’t worry about that? When I left, my wife was just about to give birth. Alas, I fear I may not live to see them," the one-ard man added, and many in the camp echoed his sentint. From their words, it seed most were forcibly conscripted, not out of personal choice.

Hearing this made even more curious. I pulled Wang Xi’s hand and whispered to him: "Uncle Wang, I ca down from the mountains, and on the halfway I was intercepted by them, muddledly brought to the camp. I want to ask, where are we now? Who are the ones fighting?"

Wang Xi looked at , hesitating to reply, but seeing I was just a curious young man of about twenty, he answered: "We’re currently in Puyang. Our commanding general is Gao Lan, and our enemy is the King of Killers, Lü Bu."

"Who!?"

Upon hearing the last two characters, I was instantly shocked, my voice rising several octaves.

Seeing everyone around looking at with surprise, I whispered to Wang Xi: "Uncle Wang, Uncle Wang! Did you say our enemy is that... what King of Killers?"

"Yes! King of Killers Lü Bu!" Wang Xi sighed once more. "It seems you know the fa of Lü Bu! He is born with divine strength, courage unmatched, and is Ding Yuan’s foremost valiant general! If not for him, with the talent of our leading general, we wouldn’t be struggling here, trapped for half a year."

Lü Bu, Gao Lan, Ding Yuan!

With these three nas together in an era, it’s clear where I am now.

The Three Kingdoms!

Any man with blood in his veins knows of the Three Kingdoms!

Yet, I couldn’t fathom why Lü Bu and Gao Lan were fighting, or when Ding Yuan beca adversaries with Yuan Shao.

I thought for a mont but refrained from asking further. The most pressing concern was how to survive.

"Yesterday’s battle claid over two thousand lives. The number of our infantry is dwindling fast, and soon we won’t even have the chance to play dead," Wang Xi lay on the straw, his face pale.

I could deeply empathize with Wang Xi’s feelings; this ever-present fear, the constant threat of eting Yan Luo King, is truly demoralizing and despairing.

"Uncle, I have a plan that can keep us alive." I said, prompting those around to sit up abruptly, turning to look at .
