Yan Zisu is just an ordinary student, usually inconspicuous, and has never held grudges with anyone. If anything, it’s you who’s offended quite a few people.
Could it be soone took advantage while he was away to kidnap her?
Or perhaps, with female students recently disappearing without a trace, did such a thing also happen to her?
Thinking of this, you find yourself unable to calm down, as if a ball of fire is stuck in your chest, ready to explode with nowhere to vent.
At this mont, your phone suddenly rings. It’s the one you usually use, and most of the class knows this number. You pick it up to see an unfamiliar number. As you answer, Chen Susu’s voice cos through: "Did Zisu go missing?"
Hearing this, your eyebrows twitch, and your voice imdiately sinks: "How do you know?"
"I guessed." Chen Susu’s voice doesn’t sound as if she’s joking, and she continues, "And I think I know who kidnapped her."
"Who?" Suddenly having an outlet for your emotions, you stand up abruptly, the overwhelming killing intent visible through the phone that even Chen Susu can sense, "Was it Yu Zixiao?"
With Chen Susu’s ntion, your first reaction is to think of Yu Zixiao. Yu Zixiao likes Yan Zisu, which even a blind man could see.
"It wasn’t him." Chen Susu firmly denies, "However, I think he’s sowhat involved. Do you rember the person you scared into wetting and soiling themselves?"
"Was it him?"
"Yes, my instincts tell it was him. Of course, whether Yu Zixiao was involved, I’m not sure, because he ca to school this morning and seed no different from usual."
After being silent for three seconds, you ask, "What’s that person’s na, where does he live?"
"His na is Rui Kai, a branch of the Rui Family Clan. His father, Rui Jiang, is the head of a listed company under the Rui Family Group, quite an influential figure." With this, Chen Susu pauses, then continues, "Speaking of which, I find it strange that with Rui Jiang’s personality, he wouldn’t just sit idly by after such humiliation to his son. However, his patience until now shows they ca prepared, clearly aid at you."
After your silence, you tell Chen Susu, "Thank you for telling this. After we find Zisu, I’ll treat you to seafood."
"Let’s bring Scholar Yan back first. Although she’s my competitor, I don’t dislike her. In fact, I quite admire her."
You hang up the phone, stand up, and walk out of the hospital, quickly blending into the crowd.
If it were soone else, they might imdiately call Du Ping’an or Gong Wu, as they are insiders with very comprehensive investigation thods, and finding Yan Zisu would only take half a day to a day at most.
However, Yan Zisu is different; not even for half a day or a day, you don’t wish to see her suffer for even ten more minutes.
To find Yan Zisu’s whereabouts in the shortest ti, your first choice was the surveillance of the public security system.
During this, you returned ho to retrieve the small backpack you always carry with you when you go out.
From the backpack, you pulled out a strangely shaped mask. The mask feels soft to the touch, resembling elastic white clay. It’s a simple pure white, without any patterns or shapes, and once worn, it can completely hide your facial contours, undetectable even by the most advanced recognition systems.
After putting on the mask, it turned yellow under sunlight, soon matching the color of normal human skin. The originally vague facial features on the mask ford into a very ordinary face. This face is quite intriguing; if you see it unintentionally, it feels familiar, yet you can’t recall the na, but upon closer inspection, it seems unfamiliar, as if you’ve never seen it before.
You also changed into common, cheap clothes in the corner, then boldly snuck into the Yuhang City Public Security Building in broad daylight.
It was lunchti, and although it’s already Mid-Autumn, many still have the habit of napping, allowing you to enter the public security building with ease.
Unlike a thief moving stealthily, you took a police uniform from the break room and then walked down the corridor as if not worried about the pervasive surveillance.
You seed very familiar with the public security building, directly heading to the twelfth floor and finding the surveillance data storage room in the northeast corner.
Although the door was locked, you only needed a thin wire to unlock it in less than a second. Once inside, you locked the door from the inside again.
You quickly pulled up last night’s surveillance footage via the computer.
First is the military hospital, around 5:30 PM. You know that Yan Zisu usually arrives at the military hospital around this ti, and sure enough, at 5:32, you see Yan Zisu entering the hospital holding two books.
An hour later, you fast-forward by ten seconds at a ti until finally, at 6:40, you see Yan Zisu leaving the military hospital. As she leaves, she’s still holding the two books, walking alone with her head slightly down.
You traced the surveillance route and found that Yan Zisu boarded a bus straight after leaving the military hospital.
You’ve taken this bus route with Yan Zisu plenty of tis, so you know which stop she would get off at.
Sure enough, half an hour later, Yan Zisu appeared at the nearest stop to her ho, by which ti the sky was completely dark. Although there were still many pedestrians on the road, as Yan Zisu continued walking, you noticed that the further south she went, the fewer people there were.
Soon, Yan Zisu walked out of the surveillance range. Just as you were about to switch to the next surveillance, you suddenly noticed three young n rushing out from an alley beside!
These three quickly subdued Yan Zisu and took her into a Toyota van that was parked nearby.
The car took off imdiately and headed south at high speed.
Resisting the urge to kill, you patiently continue tracking the car’s direction via surveillance.
The van drove along the road, and there were caras at every intersection, making it easy to follow. But by 7:13 PM, the van was no longer visible, and you finally zeroed in on the Fuchun Road area. This area appears as an old industrial zone on the surveillance, with many long-abandoned factories nearby. The perpetrators likely hid Yan Zisu in one of these.
However, one thing confounds you. Since they’ve captured Yan Zisu, if they’re targeting you, wouldn’t they call imdiately to threaten or intimidate you? They should at least follow protocol, right?
As you prepare to leave, two people suddenly appear on the surveillance screen, one tall and one short. The taller one you’ve never seen, but you instantly recognize the slightly shorter one. It’s none other than Yu Zixiao.
The two stood there for a while. Yu Zixiao made a phone call and then got into a black sedan with the tall man.
