You and Zhao’er prepared your food and set off, and soon after, you were caught up by White Shadow. It was the first ti White Shadow saw Zhao’er, but it seed very familiar with her, running around her as if very happy to see her.
As you and Zhao’er stepped out of your territory and onto the Undead Plains, the surroundings suddenly changed. Before you appeared an endless plain, yet the grass and trees were not lush and green; instead, the trees were full of holes and scars, a pitiful sight. Even more intimidating, many zombies and skeletons were wandering across the plains, with several ghosts floating and scouting in the sky.
On one hand, you didn’t want to conflict with Xing Tian’s forces, and on the other, you didn’t want to retreat. After pondering, you decided to venture into the Undead Plains.
While thinking about how to avoid being noticed by the undead creatures, Zhao’er softly said to you, "Yun, I have a way to make us invisible to them."
As she spoke, Zhao’er raised her Sandalwood Wand, chanting a song like the music of the immortals. As the song faded, a white energy shield appeared around you, Zhao’er, and White Shadow.
"Zhao’er, what’s this?"
"God’s Blessing, advanced holy magic, can eliminate all our auras, making elental spirits and death spirits unable to detect us. It also provides strong defense against elental and necromancy magic, but it only lasts an hour."
"One hour is enough."
Before Zhao’er comprehended the aning of your words, you suddenly lifted her up, telling White Shadow beside you, "Let’s go!"
With a leap, you and White Shadow covered several kiloters, swiftly running across the Undead Plains, and you weren’t running in a straight line.
Running at such high speed, you could even make a ninety-degree turn, holding Zhao’er tightly in your arms. Her head was pressed against your chest, allowing her to clearly hear your heartbeat.
Held in your embrace, her heart was filled with inexplicable joy, and during your run, there was always a faint aura about you that enchanted Zhao’er.
However, midway through, you stopped, opened the map, and found that you were already at the edge of the plains, but still surrounded by endless grasslands.
"What’s going on?"
"Perhaps it’s the Blinding Mist."
Zhao’er speculated, raising the wand again, and sang a captivating tune. As white light radiated from her body, the scene before you changed in an instant. In front of you was an endless river stretching like the sea.
But what chilled you both to the bone was that corpses occasionally floated across the river. These bodies had missing limbs or half of their heads, a terrifying sight at a glance.
"Wow, it’s humans, it’s humans."
A ghost floated above you, but halfway it was dragged into the river by so force. Before it could reach the river’s surface, countless human heads appeared, and one opened its mouth wide to swallow the ghost.
"Could this be the legendary River Styx?" Your expression changed, "It’s said the River Styx is a place of life and death reincarnation, once entered, there’s no return."
"Yun, how do we get across?"
"Flying over might not be possible; it seems we’ll have to walk under the river."
"Walk over?" Zhao’er, being a woman, was apprehensive seeing the fading human heads on the river surface.
"Don’t worry, the River Styx isn’t a real river, its water is an illusion. So everything in the River Styx is an illusion."
You picked up a stone from the ground and threw it into the river. As the stone approached the river, countless human heads erged, but the stone passed right through and then "subrged" into the water.
"These heads are called Phantasms; they only absorb spiritual bodies and energy bodies."
You took out Ming Ye, quietly gathered your strength, and Ming Ye shone with a blue glow. With a flash, the River Styx underwent a dramatic change, the water boiling like hot water. "Hah," you shouted, and the blue light ford into a straight line, parting the river water into a path on the surface.
"Let’s go." You pulled Zhao’er’s hand, leading White Shadow across the path.
Walking along the riverbed, you saw so monsters jumping onto the path, blocking your way.
"Esrald, Hand of God’s Blessing." Zhao’er cast a light spell on you, and you suddenly noticed your strength increased significantly, even Ming Ye’s blue glow beca more dazzling.
"White Shadow, protect Zhao’er well." As soon as the words left your mouth, you waved the blue light and charged forward.
"Moon Chase on the Wave!"
The blade light flashed, and you transford into a massive Ming Ye, charging forward unstoppably.
The monsters in front of you were instantly vaporized, while others resembling rn jumped back into the river to avoid your attack. As you passed, they jumped out again and charged toward you and Zhao’er wielding bone swords.
"Not bad, I underestimated you!" In a swift motion, Ming Ye swung back in a crescent arc, and many rn didn’t even have ti to scream before turning into energy absorbed by Ming Ye. The more monsters Ming Ye killed, the stronger it beca, now resembling a Fla Blade, burning with blue flas.
Beside Zhao’er, with White Shadow’s protection, no monster could approach within three ters. These rn were low-level monsters, around level 30, killing them was effortless for you and White Shadow.
"Bang!"
While you and White Shadow were in the heat of the battle, a colossal rman appeared on the road ahead. You used the appraisal technique to detect the monster’s level, and the conclusion was: "Mutant rman King, level 73, extrely tough skin, immune to conventional weapons, special skills: Shocking Waves, Absolute Ice Wall."
"Roar!" White Shadow roared, turning into a streak of purple light aid at the rman King.
The rman King raised the bone sword high, roaring loudly, and a wall of ice covered in sharp spikes imdiately blocked White Shadow’s path.
"Danger, co back!"
You shouted, but White Shadow was moving too fast to stop in ti. Just then, a white light ball caught up from behind White Shadow and pulled it back just before it touched the sharp ice spikes. As the white light dissipated, you saw it was a snow-white lion that had dragged White Shadow back.
You imdiately looked at Zhao’er, and she smiled and nodded at you, making you realize that the white-maned lion was Zhao’er’s pet, a Snow Lion nad Xia Xue.
"Kill!"
