"Professor Miyamoto is the backbone of our research institute, the hope of the future."
"Exactly, there’s no problem in this world that Professor Miyamoto can’t solve."
"Our admiration for Professor Miyamoto is as endless as the surging rivers, as boundless as the waves eting the ocean."
"Truly impressive." You shook your head and smiled bitterly inside the ch. "Using this trash CO system on such a finely tuned machine is a complete waste of potential."
As you spoke, the sound of furious keyboard tapping filled the cockpit.
"Not only is the CAP system completely wrong, but it was already rendered obsolete decades ago. Why is it still being used here?" Once again, the sound of rapid typing echoed along with your voice. "Adding an SDN system, incorporating the Bimon Defense System, correcting the trajectory and positioning of the Bariat Missile launchers..."
However, no sooner had you started than Professor Miyamoto and his team rushed over, shouting toward your cockpit: "Pilot inside, get down here! Repeat exactly what you just said!"
"Get down here!"
The group behind Professor Miyamoto echoed his demand.
"Sorry, he’s not a pilot—he’s a newly hired researcher. This SUX004 has already been designated as his experintal unit, per the director’s orders," a man explained to Professor Miyamoto.
"You’re saying he’s a researcher?" Soone exclaid aloud.
"Impossible! He’s way too young!"
"Gan! Whoever designed this CO system must’ve been brain-dead!" You yelled directly from the cockpit. "These systems are all a jumbled ss! Sure, so parts of them slightly improve operational performance, but there’s undeniable conflict between systems that’s impossible to reconcile. Once deployed, the ch could completely lock up, not to ntion it fails to unleash the machine’s unique capabilities. With this kind of CO system, a ch soldier is nothing more than a puppet—an easy target for the enemy!"
You descended from the cockpit and walked up to the man, speaking seriously. "Please take this SUX004 to the production floor. I need to rebuild this ch from scratch."
"That’s out of the question!" Professor Miyamoto roared. "You have no right to take my machine—this is the culmination of my life’s work!"
Looking at the group of hostile researchers in front of you, you suddenly smiled. Turning back to the man, you said, "Fine. Inform the director that I see two options ahead of . Option one: transfer to the production floor so I can personally form a team and build a new ch. Option two: I walk away for good."
"Your proposal is approved. Mr. Lante, escort him to the production floor. From now on, all his suggestions are authorized—you need not report to anymore." Li Qing’s enchanting voice echoed throughout the workshop for a long ti, while an almost imperceptible grin appeared on your face.
After you’d left, Professor Miyamoto turned to his subordinates and asked, "Who is that kid?"
"No idea, probably a newcor."
"A newcor?" A glint of malice flashed in Professor Miyamoto’s eyes. "Hmph. A rookie’s trying to challenge ?"
"Could he be related to the director?" soone speculated. "He’s young, and it seems like Director Li trusts him a lot."
"Maybe, but wait!" Another person suddenly exclaid, "The director’s uncle is the president, so does that an..."
"They say the president has a son around the sa age as him."
The buzz of speculation disrupted Professor Miyamoto’s thoughts, but it didn’t diminish the fury boiling inside him. "That annoying brat! Who does he think he is? Does he think his petty tricks can surpass my decades of expertise?"
"Professor, please don’t get upset. Anger will only harm your health—it’s not worth it over soone who climbed up the ranks with nepotism," soone tried to console him.
"Get out of my way! Can’t you see how he’s mutilating my work?" Professor Miyamoto shoved the man aside and shouted, "Send soone up there! I want to see just how much ’better’ he thinks he is!"
A technician stepped into the cockpit at Miyamoto’s urging. Monts later, they heard the technician exclaim in disbelief, "My god! When did he modify all these systems?!"
The technician quickly popped their head out of the cockpit and shouted, "Professor! These operation systems are insanely complex! I’ve never encountered anything like this, not even during school. But... if I can master this new thod, the ch’s performance could increase tenfold!"
"Damn it! That obnoxious brat!" Professor Miyamoto, previously regarded as kind and gentle, for the second ti showed his ugliest side in front of the stunned crowd.
anwhile, Lante had brought you to the production floor. He led you to a tall, ruggedly handso middle-aged man. "Mr. Hong, this is Mu Yun."
"Hello, I’m Hong Lin." Hong Lin smiled and extended his hand.
"Hello, it’s a pleasure to et you," you replied, shaking his hand.
"Director Li has already told about you. Normally, we wouldn’t allocate a ch exclusively for personal research. However, we’ve had one sitting in storage after an earlier malfunction. If you plan to rebuild from scratch, it’s a good candidate—it’s the original prototype of the SUX series, with exceptional performance. The main issue was the lack of a proper CO system."
You nodded. "Could you take to it?"
"Sure." Hong Lin gave a quick signal to his team and then led you and Lante to a dimly lit workshop. Once inside, Hong Lin flipped the lights on, revealing scattered parts and severed limbs.
"Mr. Hong, what’s this?"
"This is the SUX000. We call it ’Mother Earth.’ It was disassembled for work purposes, but it could be reassembled in half a day."
Moving closer to ’Mother Earth,’ you gently ran your fingers along its sturdy armor. A slow smile spread across your face. "TG armor—you folks didn’t skimp on expenses for this. Building this ch must’ve cost a fortune."
"It did."
You suddenly turned, your voice resolute as you addressed Hong Lin and Lante. "Hand it over to . Give twenty technicians with at least ten years of experience. I’ll rebuild this ch in a month, and by then, I’ll show you what a true ’super intelligent weapon’ is!"
True to your word, one month. Over the course of that month, you set a record: two straight weeks without rest. Together with twenty technicians, you completely refurbished Mother Earth. Upon finishing, you bestowed it with a new na: Axe!
The origin of the na was simple—the English translation of the word "Wolf."
During that month, you only returned to your dormitory three tis. Pang Qin wasn’t worried about you—she understood the challenges you faced. In fact, she dedicated herself to studying in the sa field, hoping to assist you in the future. By the ti Axe was complete, you hadn’t been ho for a week. You requested three vacation days from Li Qing, and she approved without hesitation.
"Qin’er, I’m back."
