At this mont, i Ye was sitting on your belly, playfully pinching your nose. "Hehe, big dumb bull, big dumb bull."

"Hey, are you guys okay?" A young man suddenly shouted from outside the pit.

"Damn, why don’t you try falling down here yourself?" Looking up, the trap was surprisingly over ten ters deep. Who knows which expert had dug it?

Pulled up by the young man using grass vines, as you climbed to the ground, you shot a glare at the youth and growled viciously, "Tell , was this trap your doing?"

The young man gulped nervously, stuttering, "S-Sorry, I-I didn’t know you’d fall in. Luckily, I hadn’t placed the bamboo arrows yet."

"Kid, are you tired of living?" You abruptly grabbed the young man by his collar, lifting him completely off the ground.

"Hero, spare ! I swear it wasn’t intentional! I was just trying to catch the Bai Hu!"

"What Bai Hu? Where is it?"

"It..." The young man started to point further down the path, but upon noticing sothing roughly ten ters behind you, he swallowed repeatedly with trembling hands, "It... it’s right behind... behind you."

Whipping your head around, you then slowly turned back to the youth, smiling faintly, "Heh, it’s really huge."

Slowly setting the young man down, you patted his shoulder lightly and joked with a grin, "Well, it’s a big one... Mom! Run for it!"

Without another word, you scooped up i Ye and bolted forward as fast as you could.

Holy hell! That’s not a tiger—it’s practically a van!

"Roar—!" With a single thunderous roar, the Bai Hu leapt forward, landing just a ter or two in front of you and blocking your path with its massive, intimidating body.

"H-Hero, please kill it! Anything you want—I’ll give it to you as long as you take it down!"

Your lips twitched; you knew escape was impossible. Firmly gripping your knife, you steadied yourself and calmly told the young man behind you, "Take care of my sister. This beast is mine to deal with."

"Eldest Brother, you can do it!"

i Ye maintained her usual cheerfulness; her smile had never left her face.

Lowering your stance, your expression turned grim as you stared at the Bai Hu before you, its size nearly double that of an ordinary tiger.

Truthfully, you didn’t want to face this tiger at all, especially since its level already t the requirents of a major Boss—a full sixty, exactly sixty!

Although this ga didn’t prioritize levels much, a high level was still an advantage, particularly for a Bai Hu of such colossal proportions.

You charged forward, slicing through the air with your knife, leaving behind a streak of yellow light as you brought the blade down directly toward the Bai Hu.

The Bai Hu seed uninterested in exchanging blows with you. Dodging to the side, it instead barreled toward the young man holding i Ye.

"Stop!"

You chased after it, swinging your knife toward the tiger’s hindquarters.

Before your blade landed, all you saw was a flash of white—then your chest was struck by what felt like a whip. Like a teor, your body was sent flying. The impact was as heavy as Taishan itself, knocking down three trees before you managed to steady yourself.

Seeing the Bai Hu stepping closer to the young man, you suddenly shouted, "Don’t bully my sister! Your opponent is !"

The tiger’s ears twitched slightly before slowly turning its head toward you.

Gripping the knife tightly, you walked steadily toward the Bai Hu. "Since you’re a Level Sixty Boss, it ans you possess human-like intelligence. You should understand my words."

Pausing briefly, you continued, "I don’t know why you’re here or why you want to attack us, but let tell you this—if I’m still breathing, I’ll never let anyone harm my sister! Co on, kill first!"

A glint of light flickered in the Bai Hu’s eyes. All you saw were flashes of white whipping through the air, and then your knife began breaking apart piece by piece until only the hilt remained in your hand.

"Hmph. Now let’s see what you’ll use to protect your sister." Bai Hu finally spoke—by the sound of it, she was a tigress!

You took half a step back, then reached into your spatial bag and pulled out the Iron Sword gifted by the Taoist.

"Hmph, hahaha!" The tigress laughed wildly, tilting her head toward the sky. "What a joke. Foolish humans—do you really think you can fight with that toy? Fine, I’ll show you my true form. Let’s see how you compare then!"

Suddenly, countless shards of white light emanated from the tigress’s body. To your astonishnt, she transford into a classically beautiful woman dressed entirely in white.

"You—you’re a tiger spirit!" You stared at her in shock.

"That’s right. I’m a tiger spirit—one cruelly abandoned by soone!" The woman turned abruptly, glaring fiercely at the pale-faced young man. "You heartless bastard, look at ! Do you recognize now!"

"Third Madam, how... how can it be you? How are you still..."

"Still alive, right? That’s what’s confusing you?" Third Madam’s slender fra trembled slightly as she pointed accusingly at the young man. "I’m just as confused—you should’ve killed yourself! I hate that I’m still alive, that I couldn’t die in your hands, you heartless man!"

"Third Madam, listen to —I never abandoned you! It wasn’t my intention... I..."

"Excuses, lies! I’ll never fall for your sweet words again. I’m going to kill you. I’ll devour your soul, leaving you trapped in eternal damnation!"

As Third Madam lunged toward the young man, you shouted fiercely and thrust your sword forward. With a flick of her wrist, an overwhelming force struck you, sending you flying once again.

"Eldest Brother!" i Ye broke free from the young man’s grip and hurried to your side upon seeing you injured.

"Still clinging to life!"

"As long... as I’m alive," you said, trembling as you struggled to your feet, leaning on the Iron Sword for support. Step by painstaking step, you moved toward Third Madam.

"Why? Why are you helping him? Is it because he held the little girl earlier? Now that she’s left him, I won’t harm you anymore—I only want this bastard’s life!"

"No." You shook your head, the corners of your lips curling into a faint smile. "I can feel it. You’ve misunderstood her—and you still love him. I’m doing this to keep you from being driven mad by hatred. If you truly kill him, you’ll regret it before long."

"No, I’ll definitely never regret it! After all he’s done to , why should I feel regret!"

Leaning against a tree trunk, you gently stroked i Ye’s head and spoke softly, "There’s a saying in the Ancient Country. It perfectly describes your current state: ’The deeper the love, the stronger the hate.’ You love him, and that’s why you hate him. But this hatred isn’t true enmity. If you really wanted to kill him, given your abilities, he’d already be chopped into pieces. So why did you turn into a Bai Hu? Because deep down, you want to know if he still loves you. Without realizing it, you’re giving him a chance to change. You may not admit it outwardly, but your actions have already betrayed you."

"No, that’s not what..."

"Stop. You’re acting too rashly. Why won’t you hear him out fully? Everyone has their reasons, their struggles. You’re beautiful—he wouldn’t have a reason to abandon you." Smiling faintly, you turned toward the young man and said, "Tell your wife everything. Lay it all out clearly."

The young man nodded, turning to Third Madam with deep affection. "Third Madam, I’ve never betrayed your devotion. Leaving you back then was unavoidable—my mother was gravely ill. I had to return ho."

"Your mother was gravely ill—I understand that. But before she even passed away, why did you marry another woman?" Third Madam’s emotions settled as tears welled in her eyes.
