"The sea? Is this the ocean?"

Actually, you were just casually saying that. Anyone could tell this was the ocean.

But then soone responded casually from behind, and you naturally agreed with her remark.

"You’re an inland player, aren’t you?"

At this point, a petite and charming figure appeared before you, barefoot and bouncing lightly.

The girl had pink hair, with short bangs framing her face and a long braid reaching her waist at the back, tied at the end with a deep red butterfly. Her eyes were large, but what truly captivated people wasn’t her flowing gaze, but her sweet smile—a smile that defied description. Regardless of when you saw such a smile, it always carried the feeling of spring.

"The sea here is much larger than the one where I co from, and the beaches here are so clean." The girl scooped up white sand in her hands, her sunlit face glowing with health. "Oh, I’m Ding Panpan. What’s your na?"

"My na is Mu Yun." You returned Ding Panpan’s dazzling smile with one of your own.

Her appearance and deanor were strikingly similar to Lin Panxia, but you weren’t sure if she was her. You needed more ti to observe.

"What are you doing here? Are you here to enjoy the sunshine by the sea like ?" Ding Panpan wasn’t the type of player focused on gaplay; she was here to appreciate the beauty of the virtual world.

You shook your head and replied, "No, I’m here to train."

"Huh? Train? What are you training for here?"

"Swordsmanship training," you answered succinctly.

"What kind of swordsmanship?" Ding Panpan, as curious as a child, circled around you like a little sister pestering her elder brother.

"Even if I told you, you wouldn’t understand," you said with a slight shake of your head, then walked to where the seawater reached your waist, gripping your sword tightly and focusing your mind.

"Brother Mu Yun, go for it!"

Ding Panpan stood nearby watching as you remained motionless for over half an hour. Even though she didn’t understand your actions, her kind nature prompted her to cheer for you.

The words "Brother Mu Yun" caused your body to montarily freeze, dissipating the concentration you’d worked hard to build.

This girl, sohow...

Never mind that for now—I need to focus on improving my skills!

Two hours later, Ding Panpan had tired of cheering. She suddenly realized how boring your training must be.

"Hmph, I don’t care anymore. You keep practicing; I’m going ho before my dad scolds . Teehee, Brother Mu Yun, I’m leaving!" Ding Panpan waved at you, then transford into a beam of light and disappeared.

You continued standing there, unmoving, for a long ti. Fifteen days later, when Ding Panpan reappeared, you were already brandishing your steel sword, furiously swinging it across the waves.

"Brother Mu Yun! You’re still training?"

Ding Panpan shouted from afar, and you turned back to smile slightly at her before shouting, "I’m almost done! I’ll log off soon!"

"Ah! What is that!"

Ding Panpan suddenly scread.

When you turned to look, you saw a massive sea monster swimming towards you!

The creature was at least as large as a blue whale, with over ten grotesque tentacles that made anyone nauseous at first sight.

"It’s dangerous! Get to safety!"

You knew it was impossible to escape—the monster was too fast. If you tried to run, Ding Panpan, this adorable little girl, might end up getting caught in its attacks. Resolving yourself in that mont, you straightened your posture, took a deep breath, and anchored your body as best you could.

After fifteen days of grueling training, you had mastered most of the Kuanglan Blade Technique. This monster’s appearance was tily; it was the perfect test of your efforts!

"Co on!"

You shouted, letting your steel sword slash downward over the water’s surface. The resulting sword aura skimd along the waves, racing toward the sea monster.

The sea monster let out a deafening roar, its sound reverberating like a sonic weapon. The force generated by the sound wave sent you flying back to shore on a surge of seawater. But the monster didn’t relent. Its massive body now supported itself with six tentacles, two of which darted at you as if wielding weapons.

Well, if you died, you could just start over—and besides, there was nowhere else to go now. You tossed out the words, "You should log off now!" before raising your sword to attack the sea monster.

"Tsunami Kuanglan!"

You shouted, unleashing the most powerful move you had learned. As your sword swung down, the surrounding seawater seed to lose gravity, floating upward and converging in a single direction.

Your sword cleaved through two of the monster’s tentacles, then sliced downward toward the tender flesh between its eyes!

But in that mont, you neglected a crucial detail—the sea monster had far more tentacles hidden beneath the water!

"Ahhh!!"

Accompanied by Ding Panpan’s scream, you transford into white light and were instantly teleported to the Majestic Hall.

However, this ti sothing different happened. A dignified and elegant receptionist softly spoke to you: "We apologize—the ga’s beta testing period has ended. Over the next month, the ga will automatically shut down for upgrades. All player data will be reset to zero. One month later, you will enter a brand-new version of ’Arrogance.’ During this ti, you can contact our custor service through your gaming tools. Thank you for supporting our ga. Would you like to log out now?"

"Alright."

You nodded, and in the blink of an eye, you were back in your "long-lost" ho. Looking at your familiar surroundings and the photo of Grandpa En hanging on the wall, you couldn’t help but feel nostalgic.

With school starting soon, you realized this was a futuristic world, yet you knew almost nothing about it. You decided to borrow so basic textbooks from your neighbors.

After ringing the neighbor’s doorbell, a clear and detailed holographic maid appeared before you. She bowed and said, "I’m sorry, my master has moved away. Their new ho’s address is..."

You ignored the holographic maid’s chatter, turning to press the doorbell of another house. This ti, a white-haired elder opened the door: "What do you want?"

The old man asked you bluntly.

"Um, excuse , I just wanted to ask—" you began.

"This isn’t an information center. Go to the consultation center in the slums," the elderly man interrupted, then slamd his door shut.

Sighing, you glanced at your surroundings. Most of the neighbors had already moved away. Grandpa En had once ntioned that this area would soon be demolished to beco a warehouse for a large company.

Out of options, you recalled the receptionist’s advice upon exiting the ga. Using your gaming tools, you contacted custor service. You adjusted your ga glasses on your nose, and a virtual desk appeared before you, behind which sat a radiant young woman.

"Hello, I’m your custor service representative, #012093. How can I assist you today?"

"Um, well, sorry to bother you," you said, blushing slightly. "I’d like to know where I can get so basic knowledge textbooks. I’m going back to school soon, but I’ve neglected my studies due to spending so much ti playing."

True to a large company’s dedication to excellent service, the woman didn’t mock your question. Instead, she offered you a gentle smile.
