He pulled you to your feet, emotions surging, and burst into hearty laughter. "Ah hahaha, Smiling Knife, you cocky little guy, looks like you’re falling behind now! Once I complete this quest, I’ll definitely defeat you in no ti!"
"Oh ho ho ho, I, Hu Hansan, am back again!" Just then, a flash of yellow blade light streaked across the sky. A man clad in black armor descended from above and landed squarely on Feng Yujian.
"Hey, where’s Tiao Qun Sword?" The man scanned around but couldn’t see Feng Yujian anywhere, so he turned to you and asked, "Hey, cloth-shirt handso guy, have you seen a fool in silver armor who emits blue sword qi?"
"Take your filthy foot off of !" Feng Yujian roared angrily from the ground.
"Hey, when did you end up on the ground? Is there poop down there for you to eat?" Smiling Knife leapt to the side, grinning as he looked at Feng Yujian.
"Butcher’s Knife, I’ll smash you!"
"Hey, Tiao Qun Sword, you’re just weaker, nothing you can do. Who asked , your elder brother, to be just a bit stronger than you?"
"Who says that!"
Feng Yujian sprang from the ground. With a sharp clang, a blue treasure sword was already leveled at Smiling Knife’s neck.
At the sa ti, Smiling Knife’s yellow big blade was pressing against Feng Yujian’s abdon. It seed the two were about to head to the resurrection point, but you imdiately stopped them from going completely crazy. "Stop fighting! Weren’t you going to take back to Gingko Village?"
"Oh right, how could I forget that?"
Without wasting another word, Feng Yujian grabbed your arm and started running towards the southeast. Smiling Knife, after a mont of thought, quickly followed. Even from a distance, you could hear him shouting at the top of his lungs, "You cheeky little brat—is it another new quest? Why didn’t you tell your big brother about it?"
"I’ll smash you to bits. I’m your big brother!"
Feng Yujian didn’t look back. He continued running straight ahead.
Feng Yujian led you to a large city. However, he didn’t enter the city but instead bought two horses at the stables on the outskirts. He handed the reins to you. "Can you ride a horse?"
While you were pondering whether you could ride or not, another pair of hands snatched the reins right out of yours. "Ah, my good little brother knows his elder brother has endured a tough journey and thoughtfully bought a horse for to ride instead!"
"Hmph!" Feng Yujian snorted coldly, pretending not to see this, and skillfully mounted his steed. Patting the saddle, he told you, "Hurry up. If we don’t make it through Demon Beast Forest before nightfall, it could get very dangerous."
Under Feng Yujian’s escort and Smiling Knife’s occasional help, after two days of long and exhausting travel, the three of you finally arrived at an old valley. But at the entrance of the valley, a massive Lion-body, Scorpion-tail Beast blocked your path.
When Feng Yujian and Smiling Knife saw that the beast’s level exceeded sixty and couldn’t determine its exact level, they exchanged awkward glances. "You’ve got to be kidding. With a monster like this blocking the way, who can get through?"
"I can!" Before the words finished echoing, a man descended gracefully amidst the Heavenly Feather winds. His sleeves billowed like an otherworldly warrior from a martial heroes novel, holding a treasured sword in hand.
"Eastern Cloud Dragon!" Feng Yujian and Smiling Knife exclaid in unison.
"Gentlen, we et again," Eastern Cloud Dragon said with a smile, his gaze falling on the two of them. When he noticed you, riding together with Feng Yujian, a flicker of intrigue passed through his eyes.
"Hey, Eastern Cloud Dragon, have you already accepted the hidden quest from Gingko Village?" Feng Yujian asked, his face full of astonishnt as he looked at Eastern Cloud Dragon.
Eastern Cloud Dragon smiled faintly and said, "Indeed. For this hidden quest, I’ve spent over a week preparing, but I didn’t expect the two of you to beat here."
"Hehe, let tell you—I’m on a hidden quest as well." Feng Yujian pointed at you. "This guy is the hidden quest NPC. The task is to escort him back to Gingko Village."
Before Eastern Cloud Dragon could examine you closely, the Lion-body, Scorpion-tail Beast they had forgotten roared impatiently. It unleashed a giant acid ball aid directly at Eastern Cloud Dragon.
Eastern Cloud Dragon remained composed. His elegant movents made him appear as though he was gliding amidst danger, effortlessly dodging the beast’s attack. His treasured sword emitted a crisp cry, transforming into countless sword shadows that flew towards the Lion-body, Scorpion-tail Beast. At the sa ti, Feng Yujian and Smiling Knife attacked from the left and right, coordinating seamlessly.
For a mont, sword light and blade shadows filled the air. All you could hear were the anguished cries of the Lion-body, Scorpion-tail Beast. Under the relentless assault of the three, the beast eventually succumbed and died a bitter death, dissolving into green light as it disappeared. Left behind on the ground were three items.
Feng Yujian, who was closest to the loot, wasted no ti and picked up the water-blue longsword, tucking it into his chest like it was a treasure. Smiling Knife gleefully examined the black bracelet in his hands, beaming with satisfaction. As for Eastern Cloud Dragon, he scooped up a ring before packing the gold coins the beast had dropped into a bag and tossing them to you. "Here, these are yours."
You shook your head, dismounted, and walked up to Eastern Cloud Dragon, carefully handing the gold coins back. "These coins were earned through your hard efforts. I can’t accept them, and I never take charity from anyone."
Under the astonished gazes of all three n, you sprinted toward the valley. But after running only a few steps, you stopped and stared in awe at this unfamiliar place.
It was a small, ancient village. To call it a village was an exaggeration—it consisted of just four or five tiny wooden huts. At the village entrance stood an elderly man with a kind face.
"No, no, no—it’s not here, it’s not."
"Watch out!"
Simultaneous shouts from the three n ca from behind you. But it was too late—you had just raised your head when you saw a scythe strike diagonally down from behind!
A flash of white light, and your body vanished just like the Lion-body, Scorpion-tail Beast.
