Su Mom was stunned: "Li Li called you a seductress?"
Su Man frowned, thought for a mont, "...No, wait, I think he called Lu Yuwen a seductress."
Su Mom burst into laughter.
"Mom! What’s so funny about that!" Su Man furrowed her brows tightly, her face full of displeasure, "It’s wrong to call anyone a seductress! What gives him the right to say that? He’s out of his mind!"
Su Mom chuckled, unconcerned: "You two argue every other day, it’s normal. Ah, forget about that. Quick, tell how your dinner with Xiaolu at the Japanese restaurant went today?"
Su Man pursed her lips, "It was fine, the food was really good..."
"And then?"
Su Mom looked at her daughter expectantly.
Su Man frowned: "And then? What else? We just went ho after eating."
Su Mom: "..."
"I’m going to my room." Su Man climbed the stairs in annoyance, muttering under her breath, "So frustrating! How did I end up running into Li Li, it really ruined my mood."
Unable to hold back, Su Mom followed behind her, asking, "Surely you didn’t just eat, right? What did you two talk about? Tell ..."
"Just random stuff." Su Man replied matter-of-factly, "We talked about ingredients, drinks, oh, and dipping sauces! Mom, you have no idea, turns out there’s a lot of knowledge about dipping sauces, the right one can really elevate the deliciousness of the food."
Su Mom listened for a while without hearing anything she wanted to know, her face falling imdiately: "You talked about nothing but food? You didn’t discuss anything else?"
"What else is there to talk about?" Su Man turned to glance at her mom, her expression skeptical, "He’s planning to open a restaurant. Of course, that’s what we’d talk about."
Su Mom instantly felt her frustration bubble up as she glared at her daughter, sighing:
"Why didn’t you ask about his family size, where he’s from, what his parents do, what he studied in college, his hobbies, his views on current affairs, whether he has any religious beliefs..."
Su Man stopped in her tracks, her eyes widening as she looked at her mom in apparent shock.
Su Mom: "..."
Perhaps realizing she’d gone overboard, Su Mom let out an awkward laugh and tried to sound casual:
"I just think, understanding his family situation might help him more, you know... Look, Xiaolu saved your dad, and we still haven’t had a chance to properly thank him. Now that you’re spending ti with him every day visiting restaurants, it’s a good opportunity for you to get to know him better."
Su Man seed to ponder this for a bit, nodded, and said, "Okay, next ti I’ll ask for you guys."

"Oh, by the way, Mom." Su Man suddenly spoke.
Su Mom paused briefly and looked at her.
Su Man walked to her room door, opened it, and asked in a natural tone, "Why have you been ho all these days? Shouldn’t you be at the hospital with Dad?"
"Oh... Your dad, your dad’s been doing okay lately..." Su Mom stamred, "Doesn’t really need soone to keep him company."
Just as the words left her mouth, the ringtone of a phone suddenly echoed from the far end of the hallway.
Su Mom quickly said, "That must be your dad calling! I’ll go answer it. Manman, go take a shower and then go to bed, no staying up late."
She said this while heading toward her own room.
Su Man eyed her mom’s disappearing figure suspiciously, muttering under her breath: "Strange and weird."

Su Mom answered the phone, and Su Dad’s impatient voice imdiately ca through:
"Why did it take so long to pick up? How’s Manman? Is she ho yet? How was the date today? Quickly, tell !"
