Chapter 1157: Chapter 1157: Spin-off – The World of Live Streaming 126
The next day, they all rested for the entire day, with only Ada sneaking out to gather information.
He wore sunglasses and a face mask, tucked his ponytail into a woolen cap, and draped himself in an oversized hoodie, perfectly concealing all his facial features.
Nick said, “Actually, you could have disguised yourself as a woman.”
Ada kicked him and then pushed the door open to leave.
Nick chuckled non-stop.
He wasn’t angry at all. Ever since the team broke the record, he felt that he was in the spotlight of his life, where everything looked great to him.
It was still early, so he organized the remaining dungeon materials and went to discuss with Bai Youwei and Shen Mo which dungeon to tackle tonight.
After reviewing the materials, Bai Youwei said, “Let’s start with the easy ones.”
Nick nodded enthusiastically, fully agreeing with her, “Yes, yes, let’s get the easy ones out of the way first, to save ti.”
“Actually… it’s not really saving ti,” Bai Youwei paused for a while, then slowly began, “We still have to run a few more 999s.”
“What?” Nick was stunned, thinking he had heard wrong.
Bai Youwei thought for a mont and said, “At least, two more runs.”
Nick was completely puzzled, he looked at her and then at Shen Mo who was beside, “Do you agree too?”
Shen Mo nodded slightly, without much explanation.
Nick looked at the two of them, fell silent for a mont, then slowly straightened his back and spoke solemnly:
“You are newbies, and may not understand the rules of the competitive area. In the competitive area, only one team per year can earn a spot. To get a spot, two conditions must be t—
First, the team must clear all dungeons;
Second, the team must break at least one record score.
Now that we have broken a record, there’s no need to waste more ti on records. If another team ets the conditions before us, we can only wait until next year…”
He silently calculated ti, then continued, “Missing this opportunity ans we have to wait at least another three months before we can leave this place.”
Nick looked at Bai Youwei and Shen Mo, and asked gravely, “So, can you tell why you still want to waste ti on breaking records?”
After pondering for a mont, Bai Youwei calmly answered, “Because I want to sell guides.”
“Sell guides?” Nick raised an eyebrow, “Guides for high score records?”
“Mhm.” She nodded and said indifferently, “Because I want to sell guides, I at least need to show that I have the ability to create them. Another two 999s… Plus the one from Sun Temple, that would make three 999s in total, that should be convincing enough, right?”
Hearing her words, Nick imdiately thought of the hardships from the first to the last level of God Temple. Did he have to go through such experiences two more tis? Cold sweat began to run down his face.
“I think going through a dungeon should be like a Hollywood blockbuster, with a tight rhythm and densely packed climaxes, and there might even be sothing like ratings involved,” Bai Youwei said slowly, “The challenge lies in how to balance the risks. As long as I can design that part well and produce a guide, I should be able to do it.”
Shen Mo then said, “If we can provide other teams in the competitive area with high-scoring guides, we shouldn’t need to worry about safety for the next while. You said it yourself, there’s only three months until next year, and that spot is just as tempting to them.”
Nick understood.
Bai Youwei and Shen Mo wanted to use the guides as bait to lure a pack of dogs to fight over it, thereby sparing them any harm.
“But… our place should be very safe, not likely to be discovered,” Nick said hesitantly, “Is it really necessary to do this?”
Shen Mo replied, “There are 16 dungeons left, which ans we need to enter and exit the subway station at least 16 tis. Even if we choose midnight each ti, can you guarantee we won’t be discovered by anyone and return safely every ti?”
Nick couldn’t give such a guarantee. He knew well the principle of “a cornered dog will leap over a wall”; the closer it gets to the end, the more prone to accidents.
Shen Mo added, “Let’s wait for Ada to co back and see what news he brings.”
