A streak of light drew closer, and soon, everyone clearly saw it was Yulia, holding the Holy Grail. Yulia had just taken control of the Holy Grail and had been in seclusion for the past few days to master it. Only the Holy Grail, a divine artifact also left by the God of Heaven, could restrain the Hell Monarch and even the power of the Fallen Angel.
"My Lords, I am Yulia, the new Saintess of God’s Country. The Holy Grail in my hands can completely defeat the Hell Monarch, but my own strength is insufficient to unleash its true power. I implore you, My Lords, to lend your aid."
"Saintess!" Seeing the Holy Grail appear again, the Hell Monarch gnashed his teeth and roared, "Do you think the Holy Grail can still harm now? I possess an Angel’s Body and have returned to my peak. Forget the Holy Grail; even if the God of Heaven himself descended, he couldn’t touch ."
The Saintess ignored the bellowing Hell Monarch and lifted the Holy Grail high. As Yulia activated her Star Power, ripples of Law emanated from the Holy Grail. Sacred white light radiated from the Holy Grail, pulsing with imnse Divine Might.
"My Lords, now is the ti!"
"New Saintess, we entrust all our Star Power to you—"
The five Star Soul Realm experts roared in unison. Torrents of Star Power erupted from them, coalescing into a pillar of light that shot towards the Holy Grail in the sky.
"Never—" The Hell Monarch was naturally unwilling to await his doom. The combined attack of the five Star Soul Realm experts had already demonstrated they could instantly destroy his Angel’s Body.
He instantly dashed towards the Holy Grail, attempting to interrupt Yulia’s power accumulation.
"Void Purple Eyes—" Wang Lan’s eyes flashed open. Spatial ripples trembled, and the Hell Monarch was montarily stilled in the void. Space locked, as if two invisible walls were pressing in on him from either side.
"Swastika, Judgnt of Light—"
The Zanpakuto in his hand instantly erupted, and a torrent of brilliant light poured down from the sky. Within this brilliance, a Heavenly Sword, vast as the firmant, plunged directly towards the Hell Monarch.
"Spiritual Sword, Wisdom Sword—"
Lin Ruolan also shot towards the clouds the mont Wang Lan launched his attack. A distorted Sword Qi materialized above the Hell Monarch’s head, slashing down almost simultaneously with the Judgnt of Light.
"BOOM—"
The Hell Monarch threw up a protective barrier, enduring the two powerful attacks. However, this montary delay caused his plan to interrupt the Holy Grail’s power accumulation to fail.
"Die—" The Hell Monarch, infuriated and humiliated, erupted with terrifying power. A terrifying spatial shockwave shattered Wang Lan’s and Lin Ruolan’s attacks, and the ensuing aftershock sent them both flying backward.
"PU—" Both spat out a mouthful of blood. Wang Lan quickly cast Life Light on himself and then on Lin Ruolan.
At that mont, Yulia had completed accumulating power for the Holy Grail. The Holy Grail above her head radiated a dazzling white light, like a blazing sun hanging high in the sky. It smashed fiercely towards the Hell Monarch, whose expression instantly contorted.
"No—"
The Holy Grail’s attack could transcend dinsions. The Hell Monarch’s ability to turn ethereal or hide in a Different Dinsional Space was useless against it. Even the Laws of his Different Dinsional Space were shattered by the Holy Grail. The dinsion itself crumbled, leaving the Hell Monarch with nowhere to hide and nowhere to flee.
"BOOM—"
The Holy Grail smashed hard into the Hell Monarch’s forehead. His Angel’s Body suddenly stiffened, then shattered like glass, its fragnts tumbling down. The Hell Monarch’s soul drifted out from the remains of the Angel’s Body.
"Seal—"
The Holy Grail suddenly flipped its opening downwards. A terrifying suction force emanated from within. The Hell Monarch’s soul could not resist this imnse force and was swiftly sucked into the Holy Grail.
"You can’t hold ... Don’t think... AHH! What is this? What is this thing?! No, please..."
The once defiant Hell Monarch, faced with so unknown terror within the Holy Grail, suddenly scread before falling utterly silent.
"PU—" Yulia suddenly spewed blood and fell from the sky. Wang Lan flashed forward, intending to catch her. Before he could get close, the Holy Grail shot to Yulia’s side, and a terrifying force struck out at Wang Lan.
Wang Lan hastily dodged, avoiding the Holy Grail’s attack.
A divine artifact protecting its master? Wang Lan exclaid in surprise. He cautiously sent a Life Halo towards Yulia. This ti, the Holy Grail did not intervene. Under the healing effect of the Life Halo, Yulia’s complexion quickly returned to normal.
"System Prompt: Assisted in defeating the Hell Monarch and averting the crisis in God’s Country and the entire world. Reward: 100,000,000 Experience Points, 8,000,000 Skill Points!"
The system’s prompt suddenly sounded in his mind. In an instant, Wang Lan’s experience bar was filled. A distinct Star Energy Fluctuation pulsed like a heartbeat. The hearts of the masters, who had just begun to relax, tightened again, fearing the Hell Monarch might undergo another angelic rebirth.
However, when they saw the Star Energy Fluctuation emanating from Wang Lan, and recognized it as sowhat familiar, the masters were once again perturbed.
"A breakthrough? You’re breaking through at a ti like this?" a female superhero said, clearly unable to comprehend.
"Stay calm. That’s just how Wang Lan is; he always breaks through after battle. We’re not sure what his situation is. But isn’t it the sa for us when we reach the Star Sea Realm? The most important thing at Star Sea Realm is enlightennt. While post-battle breakthroughs are rare, they are not unprecedented," the Qing Emperor quickly smoothed things over.
Although he was fully aware that Wang Lan’s peculiarity of making breakthroughs after battles didn’t start from the Star Sea Realm—it had always been so. But, after all, this was his country’s kid, and he had to offer so defense. He couldn’t possibly join others in calling him a monster, could he?
Having just leveled up, his experience bar filled once more, and Wang Lan’s level leaped directly from Star Sea Four to Star Sea Six. To Wang Lan, it was a two-level leap, but to others, it was rely an advancent from the early Star Sea Realm to the mid-Star Sea Realm.
This fact greatly unsettled many Star Sea Realm experts, particularly those from the Holy Knights. We’re all Star Sea Realm cultivators; why is he so much more outstanding? His Star Martial level isn’t even as high as ours, yet his combat power surpasses ours by an entire dinsion! Is there any fairness left in the world?
Although Wang Lan was imrsed in his breakthrough, he still glanced at Yulia with a flicker of confusion. He delved back into the system and checked the prompt again, confirming he hadn’t misheard.
He had killed the Hell Monarch, not rely sealed him?
"Ugh—" Yulia let out a soft groan and slowly woke up.
"Are you all right?" Lin Ruolan ca to Yulia’s side and reached out to help her up.
"I’m fine. The Hell Monarch has been sealed by the Holy Grail. This ti, he’ll never be able to escape. The Hell Monarch has been suppressed. On behalf of God’s Country, I express my sincere gratitude to all of you who ca from afar to aid us."
"Are you sure the Hell Monarch was only sealed and not killed?" Wang Lan asked with a frown.
"He should be sealed..." Yulia said hesitantly.
Wang Lan couldn’t very well say that the Hell Monarch had actually been killed, nor could he easily explain how he knew. However, since the Holy Grail was an artifact left by the God of Heaven, it likely had its unique aspects. Perhaps the severely wounded Hell Monarch, once taken into the Holy Grail, was crushed to death by Divine Power.
God’s Country had suffered grievous losses this ti, with even the Pope having fallen. Thus, they weren’t in a position to properly host Wang Lan and the other ritorious heroes. After briefly resting in God’s Country for two days, Wang Lan and the others returned to their respective organizations to report.
The mission to aid God’s Country was a resounding success. Although the Hell Monarch had killed six Titled Strongn upon his initial appearance, these losses were negligible compared to the overall victory.
Casualties are inevitable in war. Compared to the battle losses suffered by God’s Country, the International Security Council truly had no grounds to claim their own losses in this battle were severe.
"Mr. Wang Lan has repeatedly made indelible contributions to Jade Country and all human civilization. This ti, he perford excellently in the International Security Council’s selection assessnt and, as commander-in-chief, successfully executed the mission to aid God’s Country.
He assisted God’s Country in successfully suppressing the Hell Monarch of the Ancient Demon clan and uncovering the Paradise Bird conspiracy. His achievents are exceptional, bringing glory to the entire military. Upon the proposal of the Ministry of Defense, and with the approval of the Military Commission, Mr. Wang Lan is hereby promoted to the rank of Major General and awarded the Honor of the Bright Moon dal."
The day after returning to the country to recuperate, Wang Lan was summoned to the Modu City Tianjian Bureau. There, Mr. Jin from the Military Commission personally read out the promotion order and conferred his new rank. In addition to Wang Lan, Jiang Xinyu, Xu Xiangwen, and Xie Sisi were granted exceptional promotions to the rank of Colonel within the Tianjian Bureau, owing to their attainnt of Level Four Special Agent status with the International Security Council. It was indeed a joyous occasion for all.
"Mr. Jin, now that we’ve completed the International Security Council’s assessnt and our academic tasks are nearly finished, may I inquire about the nation’s plans for us?" Wang Lan asked, seizing the opportunity at the end of his promotion.
Although Wang Lan had joined the Tianjian Bureau relatively early and could be considered a veteran of sorts, he had yet to hold an official post, his designation always having been ’student’. Now, with their university studies drawing to a close—even though they were only third-years—their capabilities fully t the graduation standards.
"What? Are you planning to graduate early?"
"Yes."
"Regarding graduation... there’s no need to rush. There has indeed been consideration regarding your arrangents. The four of you possess imnse potential, but potential isn’t the sa as actual strength. Only when that potential is fully realized can your developnt be considered complete.
"Especially you, Wang Lan. Your strength is already among the absolute elite in the country. Tasks that others find daunting are re trifles to you. Undertaking such missions offers little opportunity for your growth.
"Therefore, our suggestion is that you work at the International Security Council for one year. During this year, we will endeavor to assign you challenging missions. You should seize this ti to grow as rapidly as possible, ideally breaking through to the Star Soul Realm.
"Furthermore, given your established rapport with Jiang Xinyu, Xu Xiangwen, and Xie Sisi, and the fact that you form a complete squad, they will also remain with you at the International Security Council.
"Of course, this is rely our suggestion and not mandatory. If you have other ideas, you are free to propose them."
"I... have no problem with that." Wang Lan had no aversion to joining the International Security Council. He had collaborated well with its mbers during the recent mission, and the internal atmosphere was quite congenial.
"It’s just... what about my long-term arrangents? A year passes quickly, after all."
"The great war with the Demon Clan should comnce very soon. Their repeated attempts to open portals to our dinsion indicate the Demon Clan is growing impatient. Before the war begins, the nation plans to establish five rapid-reaction forces composed entirely of Star Sea Realm Star Martial Warriors. Each force must possess the critical capability to sway the outco of million-casualty-scale battles.
"You are slated to be one of the founders of these five forces."
Wang Lan’s pupils contracted. This is a monuntal undertaking! A force capable of deciding the outco of million-casualty-scale battles... the responsibility is imnse.
"What about the other candidates?"
"Currently, only you and Yu Ruoyun are confird. All others are currently candidates. However, there’s a minimum requirent: candidates must achieve a level of strength and capability comparable to yours and Yu Ruoyun’s to qualify. Otherwise, we would rather leave the positions unfilled."
"I understand. Thank you for the organization’s trust."
