"After escorting you out, what are you going to do?" Prince Moka urgently demanded.
"Of course, we will report the investigation results to Upper Peak. This matter is too significant and must be imdiately filed with the United Nations."
"No, you can’t be so rash in reporting this to your country! The South Summon Kingdom would not act like this; my father, the King, would never do such a thing. The truth isn’t out yet!" Moka blurted out incoherently and urgently.
"By this point, the matter has beco quite clear. How could the Paradise Bird brazenly co and go from your Pioneer Space without the King’s orders? Fine, let’s say the Paradise Bird sneaked in. But there are also official Star Martial Warriors from your kingdom mining Space Stones in the Space Stone mine, aren’t there? Outside the Pioneer Space, truckload after truckload of Space Stones are being transported. And you’re telling you don’t know? You’re telling King Moka doesn’t know?"
"I really don’t know! Look, I can send you out, but you must accompany to the Capital and confront my father face to face. If my father is also unaware, you must find the mastermind and clear the South Summon Kingdom’s na."
"What if your father knows?"
"Then the South Summon Kingdom deserves whatever it gets, and any punishnt would be our own doing. But you must investigate further! Otherwise, I would rather die by your hand than allow you to take a single step out of this Pioneer Space!"
"Do you think you can stop ?" Wang Lan sneered.
"First Prince Moka, I wonder if you’ve recently received intelligence from the Jade Country: the Jade Country’s newly appointed Titled Strongman, Greedy Wolf, suppressed an Exotic Beast tide single-handedly, slaughtering 500,000 Exotic Beasts. Among them were three Exotic Beasts equivalent in strength to Titled Strongn, and one Abyss Giant Beast with strength comparable to the Five Emperors?"
Moka’s pupils contracted sharply. He had indeed received that intelligence. At first, he thought it was an exaggerated rumor that had grown through retelling. But after repeated confirmations, the information was confird to be true.
"Besides the title of Son of the Fla Emperor, His Excellency Wang Lan is himself a Titled Strongman of the Jade Country, with the title Greedy Wolf! These warriors you have here probably wouldn’t even give Wang Lan a decent warm-up..."
"Even so, we can destroy the Pioneer Space, and everyone will be banished to the chaotic spaceti currents! Wang Lan, I’m not afraid of dying, but I cannot let the South Summon Kingdom be eternally branded as traitors! I would rather stake all the Star Martial Warriors of the South Summon Kingdom on this. Please, Your Excellency Wang Lan, give the South Summon Kingdom a chance to defend itself."
Wang Lan’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. Logically, there was no reason for the South Summon Kingdom to betray them. It wasn’t like the forr Kingdom of Ice and Snow, which had reached the end of its rope. The South Summon Kingdom was living comfortably, not ravaged by Exotic Beasts or oppressed by other nations.
But the undeniable facts were laid out before them, leaving no room for sophistry.
He t Yu Ruoyun’s gaze, and she nodded silently.
"Fine, I can give the South Summon Kingdom a chance. But I will also contact my country. I will inform them that I am going to the Capital to confront the King of the South Summon Kingdom. If the South Summon Kingdom has truly been wronged, I will continue the investigation. The Jade Country is more eager than anyone to recover the Ti-Space Gemstone."
"Agreed!"
And so, with Prince Moka as their hostage, the three of them stepped out of the Different Dinsional Space, surrounded by thousands of Star Martial Warriors.
"Your Excellency Wang Lan, could you not hold so tightly? Trust , I’m not planning to run."
"You misunderstand, Prince Moka. I’m holding you this tightly not to prevent you from running, but to ensure I can kill you at the first sign of any trouble. Even if I weren’t holding you, you couldn’t escape."
A look of helpless resignation rose on Prince Moka’s handso face. Damn it, don’t I have any pride?
Upon exiting the Pioneer Space, Yu Ruoyun imdiately took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Hello."
Hearing Yu Ruoyun speak, Prince Moka’s expression changed dramatically. Yu Ruoyun can make direct contact? This ans there’s no buffer ti for this at all!
But it wasn’t just Yu Ruoyun; Wang Lan also had the right to make direct contact.
"Hello, this is Ruoyun. I’m reporting an urgent incident. Our investigation has confird that the Paradise Bird is the culprit behind the Cloud Sea Pioneer Space incident. The Paradise Bird’s goal was to use the Exotic Beast tide to disperse the Star Martial Warriors of the various nations at the junction of the five countries’ Different Dinsional Spaces because the Paradise Bird has located a second Ti-Space Gemstone, right in the South Summon Kingdom’s Different Dinsional Space. We uncovered their sche, but we arrived too late; the Ti-Space Gemstone has already been acquired by the Paradise Bird. However, the First Prince of the South Summon Kingdom denies their collusion with the Paradise Bird, so we need to go to the Capital of the South Summon Kingdom for a confrontation."
"You’re saying, not just the Cloud Sea, but other nations also faced the sa scenario? And this is all the work of the Paradise Bird, aiming to mine the Ti-Space Gemstone without anyone’s notice?"
"Yes!"
"The Paradise Bird has obtained the Ti-Space Gemstone, and they could open the Portal of the Demon World at any ti?"
"Yes!"
"Understood. Return as soon as possible."
"Yes!"
Just then, two or three sedans slowly drove up and stopped in front of Wang Lan and the others.
"This way, please, the three of you."
The initial plan was for Wang Lan, holding Prince Moka, to be in one car, with Yu Ruoyun and Master Chenghai in another. However, the ever-cautious Wang Lan insisted that Yu Ruoyun join him and Prince Moka.
"Your Excellency Wang Lan, what are you worried about? This is my personal vehicle," Prince Moka said, visibly annoyed by Wang Lan’s mistrustful action.
"Your Royal Highness, where to?" the driver asked in a hushed voice.
"To the royal palace, of course! I need to see my father, the King!"
"Yes, sir!" The driver inserted the key, and the car’s engine roared to life. At that very mont, the hairs on the back of Wang Lan’s neck stood on end, and he swiftly pulled Yu Ruoyun into his embrace.
BOOM—
With a loud explosion, flas burst forth, engulfing everything within a 200-ter radius in an instant. The hundreds of Star Martial Warriors within that 200-ter radius were instantly swallowed by the terrifying blast, followed by more intense shockwaves and heat radiation rapidly spreading outward.
A horrifying mushroom cloud rose.
Suddenly, her vision distorted, and in an instant, Yu Ruoyun felt the surroundings change. Breaking free from Wang Lan’s arms, what she saw was a bedroom.
Prince Moka, still firmly gripped by Wang Lan, was utterly bewildered, while Wang Lan himself was drenched in a cold sweat, partly from lingering fear and partly from exhaustion.
This teleportation over 2,000 kiloters had completely drained Wang Lan’s last bit of Power of Space. This was only possible because he had broken through to the Star Sea Stage, and his Star Power and spiritual power had grown once more. Otherwise, Wang Lan, back when he was only in the early Galaxy Stage, would have been completely incapable of such a teleportation.
"Good heavens, what’s going on? Where are we?" Prince Moka, having regained his senses, asked in shock.
"My ho. This is Modu City."
"What? Modu City? Jade Country’s Modu City? Why are we here, having crossed 3,000 kiloters in an instant? No, this must be a joke."
Moka hurriedly stood up and went to the window, his face full of confusion as he looked out at the huge, unfamiliar cityscape. This is definitely not the South Summon Kingdom, absolutely not.
"Wang Lan, did you use teleportation? What happened?" Yu Ruoyun quickly asked, having pieced together the situation.
"I’m not entirely sure either, but the mont the driver started the car, I felt an intense sense of crisis. Without hesitation, I initiated the teleportation. I think there must have been a bomb in the car, one that could have atomized us instantly."
"I understand. I’ll call him right now." With that, Yu Ruoyun hurriedly picked up her phone and dialed the number again.
After a few minutes, Yu Ruoyun hung up the phone.
The three of them rushed to the underground garage, got into the SUV, and drove out of Phoenix Plaza. Phoenix Plaza was less than 2 kiloters from the highway, so it took less than 10 minutes to reach the designated highway section. It was now completely closed off and isolated, without a single vehicle in sight.
After parking by the roadside, the three of them got out. Prince Moka looked around, bewildered. "What are we doing here? Aren’t we going to an airport?"
"This is the airport," Yu Ruoyun explained calmly.
A roaring sound filled the air. Suddenly, a fighter jet appeared, descended slowly from the sky, and ca to a precise stop in front of Wang Lan and the others, landing vertically.
Prince Moka stared in disbelief. "Jade Country’s highways can be used as airports? Jade Country has the world’s longest highway network... My goodness, how many airports would that be?"
"More than you can imagine," Yu Ruoyun replied.
"Major General Wang Lan, Colonel Yu Ruoyun, and Prince Moka, I am Wang Wei, a pilot from the Southeast Military Region. I’ve been ordered to escort the three of you to the Imperial Capital. Please board."
All three being Star Martial Warriors, hopping onto a fighter jet was a piece of cake. The space in the back seat was small, and although a bit cramped, it could barely fit the three of them. Yu Ruoyun was practically pressed into Wang Lan’s embrace, their bodies tightly packed together.
"The accommodations are a bit tight, so please bear with it. But don’t worry, we’ll be fast," said the pilot. After he spoke, the jet slowly began to taxi.
Pressed tightly against Wang Lan, Yu Ruoyun’s body began to heat up. This kind of opportunity... it was sothing she had only ever dread of. The longer she knew Wang Lan, the more she learned about him, the clearer it beca how vast the distance between her and Wang Lan truly was. She could be Wang Lan’s closest comrade-in-arms, his most trusted partner, his most understanding confidante... but never his lover. The Yu Family wouldn’t allow it, and Wang Lan wouldn’t either. If she ever revealed even a hint of her affection for Wang Lan, their friendship would end. That was why, even if this journey was an ordeal for the other two, for her, it was an incredibly precious chance. A chance to be curled up in Wang Lan’s embrace like a lover, listening to his heartbeat, feeling his warmth.
Then, Yu Ruoyun’s cheeks beca redder and redder, and Wang Lan’s expression grew increasingly pained.
"Don’t let your mind wander," Yu Ruoyun warned, biting her lip and whispering in Wang Lan’s ear.
"I swear I’m not, but... it’s not my fault if it won’t behave, right?"
"If it won’t behave, cut it off!" Yu Ruoyun’s voice, as low as a mosquito’s hum, reached Wang Lan’s ears. Wang Lan shuddered on the spot, and miraculously, the misbehaving ’thing’ suddenly settled down.
