The next day.

Martin Kerr sat alone in Landon Lawson’s office, crossing his legs, with a gentle smile at the corner of his mouth.

Cre-eaak—

The office door slowly opened, and two figures, one large and one small, walked in slowly.

Martin looked at the two with a smile, but when his gaze fell on that small, dumpling-like figure, he was slightly stunned, his surprised eyes filled with deep interest.

"This cute little kid is really adorable, why does he seem familiar?"

Martin walked over and picked up the little kid in his arms, soone who never liked children, yet he unexpectedly grew fond of Evan Quinn this ti.

"Of course I’m Daddy’s son." Evan Quinn proudly raised his head, his big adorable eyes blinking.

Martin looked carefully at Evan Quinn’s face for a few more seconds, then realized that he and Landon Lawson shared about an eighty to ninety percent resemblance, nodding his head as he said, "If that’s the case, you two really do look exactly alike. It seems that this little treasure will be an outstanding person in the future."

Evan Quinn’s face was full of smiles as he slowly opened his mouth: "Then I’ll have to rely on good words from such a handso uncle like you."

"Wow, this little kid really knows how to talk. I like you more and more. How about Uncle takes you out for milk tea later?"

Martin’s eyes were full of fondness. This kid he truly liked more and more, no matter which aspect he looked at, he found him absolutely adorable, even his speech was so sweet.

Landon Lawson stood nearby, watching them exchange words, a rare hint of warmth in both their eyes. It’s been an unknown ti since he last felt this way, and if this kind of life could continue, how great would that be?

Landon Lawson knew that Martin Kerr ca today to discuss that matter with him, after all, that business deal had been delayed by them for too long. If this dragged on any longer, the losses would be unbearable for both companies...

Landon Lawson shouted towards the door: "Nolan, please take Evan Quinn out first."

Nolan Shaw walked in, but when he saw Martin Kerr, his pupils slightly contracted. Knowing that the upcoming topic was not sothing Evan Quinn should hear, he picked up Evan Quinn in his arms and silently walked out of the office.

As soon as Evan Quinn left, the smile on his face abruptly disappeared. Looking at the closed office door, he slightly furrowed his brows: "You’re a man with a wife and children, we can’t afford to lose this business deal."

"I don’t need you to tell that."

The man’s cold voice slowly echoed, with indifferent eyes revealing no panic or unease, as if the situation happening to Landon Lawson now was not inappropriate in any way.

"After all, the subsequent costs of having a child are indeed very high."

Landon Lawson’s lips subtly twitched as he looked at Martin Kerr’s serious deanor. It was surprising how such a weighty topic could co from Martin’s mouth.

"Seems like you, kid, also have the thought of starting a family."

"No way, such a thing will absolutely not happen to . Don’t place that terrifying thought on ." Martin waved his hands repeatedly, every ti she heard about the prospect of getting married, she felt particularly terrified. Such things were extrely frightening. Previously, the old man at ho kept urging him to get married, yet every ti it was brought up, it gave him a headache. The farther away from it, the better.

Seeing Martin’s terrified expression, Landon Lawson rarely showed a slight smile.

Only to hear Martin continue, "After all, not everyone can give birth to a genius like you. If I were sure my kids would be as outstanding as , I would have had them ages ago."

The more Martin spoke, the more excited he got, with even a bit of a smile surfacing on his face, yet Landon Lawson’s mouth subtly twitched, showing his disagreent with Martin’s words.

If his son turned out to be like Martin, would he still like him? At this thought, Landon Lawson shivered involuntarily, not daring to imagine such a terrifying thing.

"If the son turned out like you, I might as well strangle him at birth."

Martin, who was fantasizing, suddenly froze, his face showing a pouting dissatisfaction.

"What do you an by that?"

When Landon Lawson saw that pitiful face of Martin’s, his mood improved a bit.

However, they both started to seriously discuss business.

...

"Daddy and that weird uncle, what were they talking about, why can’t I listen?" Evan Quinn curiously asked Nolan Shaw.

A smile on Nolan’s face stiffened for a mont, then he spoke.

"I don’t really know about that matter. Can a kid really understand it?"

"I think I understand everything. After all, I’m Daddy’s child." Evan Quinn pouted in dissatisfaction, a stubborn look on his pretty little face.

This cute look made Nolan quite fond, rubbing Evan’s head vigorously, ssing up the neatly combed hair at once.

Evan Quinn pouted in displeasure and complained with a hint of bla: "Uncle Nolan is really too bad, you just don’t like ."

"How could I not like you? I like you the most."

Nolan hurriedly explained, slightly panicked.

Upon hearing this, Evan finally smiled knowingly, feeling about right.

The ti ticked by; Evan started to get a bit bored.

Just as he was about to doze off, the previously shut office door finally opened.

Seeing the two coming out, Evan curiously asked: "Daddy, what were you all discussing that took so long?"

Before Landon Lawson could answer, Martin Kerr spoke first: "We were discussing sothing very important, of course, it’s not sothing a kid can understand."

Landon Lawson and Evan Quinn’s mouths twitched simultaneously at Martin’s words. This identical expression only reinforced Martin’s belief that they were indeed a father and son pair.

Evan thought to himself, why does everyone say he’s just a kid despite being only five years old, his emotional intelligence is quite high.

There was a hint of dissatisfaction on that pretty little face.

However, Landon Lawson coldly snorted, squinting his eyes as he scrutinized Martin. This kind of intimidating gaze made Martin involuntarily shiver, suddenly unsure where he went wrong with his words...
