Still dreaming of marrying into the Lawson Family, it’s simply a daydream.
Think back to those days when she was like a shadow behind Landon Lawson, refusing to leave no matter how much he found her annoying. Otherwise, the position of Mrs. Lawson might have fallen into Vera Yates’s hands.
Even if she lives her life over again, Sienna Quinn still can’t figure it out. Clearly, Vera Yates liked Landon Lawson imnsely, yet she set Sienna up with Landon, leading to their deep ties and marriage into the Lawson Family as the young Mrs. Lawson.
Vera Yates, I treated you as my best friend in my past life, yet you insisted on bringing about my downfall.
All of this ss was caused by these people, yet in the end, she is the one who suffered and got hurt.
Sienna stood there for a while, and the gossiping servants turned their heads. Then they noticed Sienna behind them, awkwardly lowering their heads like children caught doing sothing wrong.
"Miss... Miss Quinn."
In other wealthy families, servants are not allowed to gossip about their masters’ private affairs.
Sienna didn’t seem to offend any deity, yet she always ended up with gossiping servants who insisted on putting her every move out in the open.
However, Sienna did not wish to pursue it. Pretending she hadn’t heard their conversation, she walked straight to the fridge, took out a bottle of milk, heated it up skillfully, then turned and left.
Sienna lay on the bed but couldn’t fall asleep. She recalled the servants’ conversation — do others truly see her and Landon as a ’loving’ couple? If only that were true.
Though only a month pregnant, with the baby only an embryo, Sienna felt as if she could sense its presence. She gently touched her belly, a satisfied smile appearing on her face.
"Child, thank you for coming into my world, bringing color back to my life. In this world, there’s your mom, dad, and brother..."
Sienna murmured quietly, speaking of future life, her eyes turned slightly red; she was eagerly anticipating the child’s arrival. She hoped for a beautiful girl to be protected by her brother, Evan Quinn.
She must be strong; she has no choice but to be strong!
Sienna cast aside the chaotic thoughts in her mind, hugged her pillow, took deep breaths, and gradually fell asleep.
However, there was another person tossing and turning in bed, and that person was Landon Lawson.
Landon’s mind was filled with the images of Sienna; he thought about her maniacally, as if under a spell.
In his heart, he clearly detested that woman intensely, so why did he still think about her?
Landon wasn’t sleepy at all; rather than letting his mind wander, he might as well work overti.
He took out his laptop to handle so company matters. Before he knew it, dawn broke. Landon simply freshened up and went straight to the company.
At noon, just as Landon was contemplating whether to return to the villa for lunch, an unexpected visitor arrived at his office.
"Oh wow, what a rarity! I’ve been visiting your office for several days and kept missing you, but today I finally caught you."
Even before seeing the person, the voice was recognizable. Without needing to guess, Landon knew it was Martin Kerr, the eldest son of the chairman of Kerr Group, which had recently been in business with Lawson Group, and also the person who gave him the most headaches.
Martin Kerr pushed open the office door, walked straight in, dropped onto the sofa, crossed his legs, and appeared as if he wouldn’t be leaving anyti soon.
Naturally, Landon didn’t show him a pleasant face because he knew Martin well; every ti Martin sought him out, it was never for anything good.
"So, what have you been busy with lately? Why do you disappear every noon?"
Martin started gossiping. Even though it was their first business collaboration, Martin had an inexplicable liking for Landon; the seemingly cold and heartless man’s manner of speaking, in fact, intrigued him.
Since Martin started visiting, he frequently sought Landon, using the excuse of business talks to dine with him many tis.
He didn’t expect Landon to suddenly vanish for a few days.
"Do you think I’m supposed to have lunch with you every day? Honestly, I’m tired of seeing your face." Landon said indifferently.
This remark ticked Martin Kerr off, "Hey, hey, hey, what’s with the way you’re talking! What do you an by my face being tireso? Have you seen as handso a face growing old?"
Martin hurried to argue; he was quite confident in his looks.
Landon didn’t want to explain further. Martin knew sothing about his and Sienna’s marriage, and even if Landon said nothing, Martin saw plenty of news on the internet.
"Right, enough nonsense, get to the point."
Martin obediently shut up; he couldn’t afford to offend this boss.
"I think there are so issues with the proposal from Grandview Construction Company, so I wanted to et with you to discuss if we can find a better solution."
Martin switched from his carefree tone to a more earnest and striking deanor when discussing work.
Hearing Martin say this, Landon found a docunt among the papers on his desk and tossed it over to Martin.
Martin opened the docunt in confusion and exclaid in surprise, "You’ve already modified it? That’s fast!"
Martin had genuine respect for Landon; he had always heard from his father that this man was sothing else, an extraordinary figure, and his inspiration.
Upon hearing his father praise another so much, Martin was extrely dissatisfied, thinking he was, after all, his father’s own son. Who brags about soone else while belittling their own son?
But when Martin saw Landon, he realized, his father’s complints were far from exaggerated.
Landon snorted lightly, "You think everyone is slow-paced like you, dawdling around."
"Yes, yes, yes, but you’re my boss. Since you’ve solved this hassle for , how about lunch on ?" Martin chuckled.
Landon wore a serious expression; not going back for lunch? If he didn’t, he might not see her for the whole day...
Landon’s expression darkened, realizing his mind was slipping out of control again.
Landon imdiately stood up, forcing himself not to think about Sienna, to not be soft-hearted; if he truly wanted the best for Sienna, he couldn’t show weakness.
In his current state, staying with him would only wrong Sienna.
With one hand, he picked up the coat draped over the chair.
Martin squinted, looking at Landon’s hand, his brow furrowed: "Young Master Lawson, your hand..."
"It’s nothing, just a minor issue."
Is it really just a minor issue? Martin smiled, seems like this pair of quarrelso couple isn’t as smooth as it appears on the surface.
Besides, what role could an outsider like him play in such dostic matters?
Moreover, Landon’s other woman was Vera Yates; although he hadn’t t her, or interacted with her, just by looks, she wasn’t soone simple.
"Young Master Lawson, you truly have no shortage of little flowers by your side."
"Cut the crap!"
Landon gave him a glare, his face turned so gloomy that it made Martin shiver.
Martin obediently zipped his lips and followed Landon out of the office, marking the start of their lunchti once more.
