Sienna Quinn turned her head, looking at Landon Lawson’s profile, perfect with sharp angles. His cool lips were slightly pursed, and those icy brows were so attractive that even Sienna found herself lost in admiration.
"Is it really that good-looking?"
The man turned around, a hint of a smile on his lips, the gentleness between his brows striking Sienna’s heart again and again.
Thump thump thump!
Her heart raced, as if it was about to jump out from her chest.
Even in the dark, the faint light was enough to see the blush on Sienna’s small face, her mouth slowly curving upward, everything so adorably tempting.
The corner of the man’s mouth lifted, finally seeing a glimpse of her old self on her. In the past, Sienna often felt shy when seeing Landon Lawson.
Everything that happened today surprised Sienna; she hadn’t expected Landon Lawson to be so caring, to accompany others.
When the two-hour movie ended, Evan Quinn woke up. Actually, Sienna suspected whether Evan was truly tired or was trying to create a private space for her and Landon Lawson.
The family of three walked out of the theater just as dusk settled in. Seeing the setting sun outside, Sienna raised her hand to shield her eyes, the sunset’s afterglow casting a light golden sheen on her cheeks.
"Stephen!"
A clear voice rang out not far away; Sienna turned to see who it was, her brow slightly furrowing. She knew that with such good weather, it was bound that soone annoying would appear.
Vera Yates and Miles Grant were walking together toward them. A hint of surprise flickered in Landon Lawson’s eyes, but seeing the two together, he couldn’t help but smile.
"How co you two are out together?" Miles had always been good to Vera, as Landon had seen since childhood. But over the years, Miles never expressed his true feelings. Now seeing them together, he was quite pleased; perhaps sothing could happen between them.
"Vera has been experiencing so issues with her career recently, so she’s not feeling too great. I happen to be off-duty today, so I decided to accompany her," Miles said, looking at Vera with so worry and sympathy, while she gave a faint bitter smile.
"It’s nothing, the entertainnt industry is like this. As long as you don’t mind, it’s fine."
Seeing Vera’s bitter smile, Landon frowned slightly; her troubles all stemd from him.
"My issues have interfered with you."
"Stephen, what are you saying?" Vera raised her eyebrows, looking slightly annoyed.
Sienna stood aside, rolling her eyes; Vera sure knew how to act. Coldly she chuckled, "It’s quite a coincidence how, in such a large city, we still manage to run into each other. I wonder if it’s fate or deliberate." Sienna laughed coldly, if it weren’t for encountering soone secretly taking pictures in a cap, she wouldn’t have thought much. Now it seed that person must have been sent by Vera; otherwise, how did Vera and Miles appear here just after that person vanished?
How could there be such a coincidence?
"Sienna, why do you think of this way?" Vera had a grievance in her eyes, that pitiful look made Sienna feel disgusted.
She had gained Sienna’s trust back then with that expression and was using this trick again now.
"Your pitiful act doesn’t work so well on ." Sienna snorted coldly.
Miles frowned slightly, saying discontentedly, "Her life is already quite tough because of you, and you still want what? Why think so poorly of people?"
Landon glanced unhappily at Miles’ attitude toward Sienna, but Sienna’s words were also unpleasant. Vera is in this situation because of the two of them; must they always be harsh?
Sienna turned to look at Landon who hadn’t spoken, much like five years ago when he wouldn’t speak to help her when she was bullied, still silently watching as Miles and Vera bullied her.
Compared to them, the latter was more important to him.
Vera gently tugged Miles’ sleeve, shaking her head, "Miles, don’t be angry at Sienna, she doesn’t an anything by it."
Miles gently patted Vera’s shoulder, choosing to ignore Sienna.
"Wow! Chloe is getting cuter and cuter." Vera looked at Evan, squatting down to hug him, Sienna frowned, pulling Evan to her back.
Evan hid behind Sienna, peeking out at Vera, saying seriously in his childish voice, "Teacher Cole told not to talk to bad people."
Vera’s hand froze in mid-air, neither reaching out nor pulling back, her beautiful face alternating between flush and pale.
Landon looked unhappily at Evan; he wasn’t an ignorant child, clearly, this was deliberate.
Was all this taught by Sienna?
Landon glared at Sienna, angrily saying, "Is this how you educate your son? Maybe custody shouldn’t be left to you."
"Don’t forget our agreent," Sienna snorted coldly, looking sarcastically at Landon. All the previous beauty between them disappeared.
Landon laughed coldly, "Our agreent?"
Sienna couldn’t be bothered to respond further to him, turning to pull Evan, saying, "Let’s go ho; your daddy has no ti for us now."
Evan glared at Landon; how did this ga end up like this? Shouldn’t he know what he needs to do?
"Sienna, we finally got together; the four of us haven’t eaten together for ages." Vera, seeing Sienna wanted to leave, hurriedly stopped her, looking like a sister.
"Eat together? I used to always follow you three around; when did anyone ever see ? Back then, you couldn’t wait to ditch ," Sienna laughed coldly, her gaze sweeping over the three.
"Why bring up things from so many years ago? Besides, whatever happened back then, Vera always took you along," Landon said displeased. Sienna was right; she did always follow them. But at that ti, Vera was her best friend, and she would bring Sienna along whenever they gathered.
"Bring ? Was it to help , or to let serve as her elegant backdrop?" Sienna laughed coldly, her eyes directly on Vera.
Vera froze; could it be that Sienna already knew the real reason she brought her along back then?
Back then, Sienna would tell Vera everything; she knew from the start that Sienna liked Landon and pretended to create opportunities for her, but each ti it just made Landon dislike her more, while he thought of Vera as understanding and reasonable.
