"Investigate all his business dealings!" Landon Lawson said squinting his eyes.

To dare look at his wife with that kind of gaze, he would not be a gentleman if he didn’t settle this score!

Landon turned his head, looking at Nolan Shaw who stood in front of him without leaving, and said after a mont of pause, "Do you have sothing else?"

"President Lawson, there’s sothing I’m not sure whether I should say or not." Nolan hesitated for a long ti before finally speaking.

Nolan had been by Landon’s side for many years, and Landon was well aware of his skills. Nolan was excellent both as a person and in handling matters, never saying anything unnecessary.

Today, he suddenly said a few more words, so there must be a reason.

Landon nodded, letting Nolan continue.

Nolan took a deep breath and said, "President Lawson, have you heard of the term conflict of interest?"

"Conflict of interest?" Landon raised his eyebrows, looking at Nolan with a peculiar expression.

That look from Landon sent a shiver down Nolan’s spine, but after thinking it over, he continued, "President Lawson, you’ve always treated Miss Vance like a sister, taking ticulous care of her, whether it’s acting or whatever, you handle everything perfectly. But it’s precisely this behavior that leads the outside world to misunderstand, creating an illusion that Miss Vance is always in your heart."

Although Landon and Vera Yates were on-screen lovers, neither the Lawson Group nor Landon himself ever publicly declared a romantic relationship with Vera Yates, rely ignoring the rumors from outside.

And Vera had only used their relationship for publicity after getting his approval, to dissuade those who had inappropriate thoughts about her.

But between him and Vera, there was nothing more.

"I’ve always thought of Vera as a sister!" Landon’s voice was sowhat cool.

Nolan of course knew this; otherwise, he wouldn’t have brought up the topic today.

"But President Quinn doesn’t know!"

That simple sentence made Landon frown deeply. Nolan’s words had hit him right where it mattered.

Even if they knew, Sienna Quinn didn’t know.

From Sienna’s perspective, he and Vera clearly had that kind of relationship, and even if he explained it to her countless tis, that foolish woman still wouldn’t believe it.

Looking at the man with tightly furrowed brows, Nolan knew he had said all he needed to. A clever man like Landon would surely understand the aning behind his words, but it was up to Landon how he chose to proceed.

"Don’t act on the Vera situation for now. Just investigate this person’s business dealings alone."

"Yes, President Lawson!"

Nolan left with a hint of joy, taking the photos without any hesitation.

Landon placed his hands under his chin, his gaze turning deep. Nolan’s words made a lot of sense; he should know what conflict of interest ans.

Currently, everyone thought Vera was his woman, and this wasn’t a good situation for either Sienna or Vera. In the future, when Vera wants to find a boyfriend, it would bring nurous inconveniences.

It would also affect a woman’s reputation.

Landon picked up his phone and sent a text ssage to a certain number.

That man might not have ti now, and even calling him wouldn’t be possible. But as soon as he’s free, he’ll surely reply promptly.

Axel Yates, who hadn’t been contacted for so ti, sat at ho with his phone turned off beside him. Stubble had grown on his chin, and his previously sharp eyes had dulled, staring blankly ahead.

There were newly received emails on the nearby computer.

The sender’s na was all too familiar to Axel—it was the private detective he’d hired.

These past few days, Axel had not been anywhere, staying ho without stepping out. During this period, he didn’t know how many people had knocked on his door, but he remained silent. Even when people from the company ca, he never opened the door.

His phone had been turned off early on.

A mournful laugh broke the eerie silence; Axel bitterly gazed at the computer, holding a family photo in his hand. Looking closely, the happily smiling boy in the middle was Axel himself.

"Mom, Dad, tell this isn’t true!"

Tears stread down Axel’s face uncontrollably. Once gentle and refined, he was now enveloped in deep sorrow, his eyes filled with endless pain.

With his head bowed, large tears continued to flow down.

He couldn’t rember how many years had passed since he last cried; the last ti was when he saw his parents lying in a pool of blood.

The feeling of helplessness made him hate his entire life.

The email contained the latest information from the private detective. Although the police had ruled his parents’ deaths as an accident, how could it be so coincidental? Their car had always been well-maintained, so how could such a simple error occur?

Brake failure?

Axel could never believe in such an excuse.

Therefore, he had gone abroad, specifically hiring the most famous private detective, willing to spend any amount for the truth.

Looking at the prominent words, "Suspicious Cause of Death!"

Those four words finally broke the last defense in Axel’s heart; soone once so strong could no longer endure.

"Why? Who on earth!"

An angry roar echoed throughout the room.

Axel clutched his head, his fingers tightly gripping his hair, releasing his painful emotions.

Sienna arrived at the company; although she had already dealt with the disobedient board mbers yesterday, there was still one issue—where had Axel gone?

He had been out of contact for so ti now, so where had he disappeared to during these days?

"Check Axel’s flight records for !"

"Got it, President Quinn!" Danielle Carter acknowledged and went to check.

Sean Carter followed behind Sienna, a look of worry flashing occasionally in his eyes, "President Yates has been missing for many days now, and although only the higher-ups know about this, keeping it highly confidential, tomorrow is the final eting with HR Group, and Landon Lawson will definitely be present. If President Yates doesn’t show up, won’t it seem like we’re not sincere?"

"I’ll find a way to contact him today," Sienna’s brows furrowed deeply.

With Sienna’s assurance, Sean finally felt relieved. Axel Yates’ absence had already left the company in chaos among the top managent. Fortunately, Sienna was still holding the fort, silencing the last of the dissident voices yesterday.

But if Axel doesn’t appear, and HR isn’t secured, Sienna’s position in the company will beco precarious.

Soon, Danielle rushed back, her expression uneasy, "President Quinn, President Yates hasn’t purchased any flight tickets recently, nor has he left the country."

He hasn’t left the country?

But Axel specifically told her he was going to the France branch. So why didn’t he leave the country?
