Chapter 440: 440. I, Qin Shi Huang, make money
The conversation ended, and Lu Yao frowned slightly in deep thought, remaining silent.
Yu Yani understood only half of what she heard, “Izumo Emperor? Such a devious ambition, the Empress Dowager really deserves to die if she’s in cahoots with him!
But according to what he said, is The First Emperor of Qin still alive? It seems like the Izumo Emperor is planning sothing sinister… How does he know so much?”
Lu Yao looked up and said, “Let’s go to the Hall of Supre Harmony and see, I believe we will find sothing.”
Glancing at the majestic palace far in the distance, the pair went there right away.
However, just as they started to quicken their pace, Yu Yani’s eyebrows knitted together, and her figure briefly faltered.
Having just broken through, she was sowhat unaccustod to the sensation, but fortunately, being at the “Flesh Realm,” she recovered within seconds.
Lu Yao hurried over to support her, “Are you alright?” he asked as he reached out to wrap his arm around her waist.
Yu Yani pushed him away with a sharp tone, “Brat, forget about that incident quickly! Don’t get too intimate with !”
Her expression stern, her clear eyes free from the slightest impurity, she radiated an aura of untouchability.
But having witnessed all of her beauty, Lu Yao was not swayed by this severe deanor.
He wasn’t in a hurry at the mont and pointed toward the distant Hall of Supre Harmony, “Grandmaster Yu, it’s good to hear you’re okay. Let’s hurry over before it gets late and more dreams co.”
Just as they were about to set off, they heard the synchronized sound of footsteps, seeing nearly a hundred of the rcury Guards marching toward them with spears raised.
They did not form a defensive array but instead, lined up in two rows as if to welco guests.
As they approached, the officer with a tasselled helt stepped out and shouted sowhat chanically:
“The Emperor summons the one who was playing the pipa.”
Lu Yao and Yu Yani exchanged a glance, and with a gesture, the Pipa Charm appeared.
“This is Lu Sheng’s Magical Treasure. The scriptures record that he was The First Emperor of Qin’s most trusted fangshi (occultist).”
Upon seeing the pipa, the rcury Guards didn’t say another word, and imdiately led the way to the Hall of Supre Harmony.
By the ti they arrived there, the guards at the palace gate moved in unison, making way for a path.
But as Lu Yao and his companion approached, the spears in their hands instantly crossed over.
The leading officer shouted again, “The Emperor summons the one who was playing the pipa.”
Lu Yao imdiately understood; the summons was for him alone. He nodded at Yu Yani and entered by himself.
Yet, the rcury Guards still did not clear the way.
It wasn’t until Lu Yao handed the Lake Sword, which he carried on his back, to Yu Yani for safekeeping that they retracted their spears one after another and made way.
Lu Yao walked calmly along the path, then climbed up the thousand steps to finally enter the main hall of the Epang Palace—the Hall of Supre Harmony.

Inside the ancient and majestic palace, Lu Yao imdiately saw a 30-ter tall rcury giant in full armor.
He stood there motionless, very similar to the “General ng Yi” at the city gate.
But in his hands, he held a spear-shaped Magical Treasure, no doubt the top force defending this location.
Walking further along the road paved with bluestone tiles, he finally ca to a hundred-ter high bronze door covered with embossed cloud patterns!
It turned out that the long walk they had just traversed was rely equivalent to an antechamber, and the core area lay beyond this door.
As he approached, the massive bronze doors slowly opened on their own, and Lu Yao took a deep breath before entering.
Once inside, what caught the eye most was an impressively tall, about 200 ters high, statue.
The statue depicted a muscular man, with every muscle intricately detailed, and was made entirely of gold, gleaming in the light.
However, his body was covered with damage, and even one of his arms was missing, sheared off at the shoulder; the wounds were uneven, as if he had been through a great battle.
Then, the imnse golden statue actually turned its head to look over, a streak of light shooting out from its glabella.
Imdiately after, the light took the form of a young man wearing a dark robe and a high crown.
“Are you Lu Yao?”
The man’s voice was sowhat gentle, not quite what one would expect from an emperor who commands the four corners of the world.
Moreover, his figure was ethereal, clearly a strand of soul that had left the body, and his eyes actually lacked pupils!
Lu Yao was incredibly surprised; even his own divine soul could “bring life to the eyes,” so how could a person of The First Emperor of Qin not do so?
He could only patient communicate, “I am indeed Lu Yao. May I ask if you are The First Emperor of Qin?”
The man was slightly startled by the question, then said,
“The Ancestral Dragon has been dead for over a thousand years, and I… am a persistent strand of his divine soul. You may call Ying Zheng.”
The so-called persistent strand is… an obsession that one cannot let go of.
Lu Yao bowed with his hands folded in front and said, “An honor to et you! May I know what guidance Your Majesty seeks from summoning ?”
This remnant soul nad Ying Zheng seed visibly pleased when Lu Yao addressed him as Your Majesty.
“I have witnessed your battle and heard your conversation with Xu Fu, so there are so matters I wish to discuss with you.”
“Xu Fu!?” Lu Yao felt a stir in his heart: “Is Xu Fu, the Izumo Emperor?”
“Yes, he betrayed the Ancestral Dragon and fled overseas.”
Ying Zheng sighed and said, “This man is also indirectly the murderer who caused the death of the Ancestral Dragon. He has been eying Epang Palace for thousands of years. This ti, he caught a glimpse of so flaws and likely won’t leave things as they are.”
Lu Yao asked, “Could you tell the story of what happened back then? I still have many questions in my heart.”
“That is exactly what I was about to discuss,” Ying Zheng nodded and then began to recount:
“Back then, Xu Fu’s lifespan was drawing to a close, and he was single-mindedly practicing Divine Travel through Thousands of Worlds, attempting to break through to the Sun God Realm, or to find so other thod to extend his life.
In the thirty-sixth year of Qin, Xu Fu suddenly claid to have found a way and presented a strange magical treasure with a triangle and an eye in the center.
The magical treasure constantly emitted ntal fluctuations, as though it contained an abundance of marvelous knowledge.
The Ancestral Dragon was intrigued, and had Lu Sheng go to study it, but before long, contact with Lu Sheng was lost.
Before the Ancestral Dragon could investigate, a terrifying portal of light appeared, and a celestial-like monster arrived in our world.”
Lu Yao understood in his heart that this monster must be the “Guiyi God” currently suspended above his head.
Ying Zheng continued, “The current situation doesn’t look very good. The Ancestral Dragon is dead, the world’s structure has declined, and no one is capable of stopping that monster anymore. Therefore, I need your help.”
Lu Yao said, “What kind of help can I offer?”
Ying Zheng didn’t rush to answer, instead, he gestured for the 200-ter-tall golden statue behind him to assu the pose of throwing a javelin.
A powerful suction suddenly erged at the scene, with countless pockets of air converging in the golden statue’s hands, forming an increasingly bright blue point of light.
This was a mass of charged particles, heating up ever more, and it ford into a giant, luminous blue javelin.
Even though Lu Yao was nearly a hundred ters away, he felt a burning sensation on his skin; the javelin contained a shocking degree of heat!
“A plasma weapon!?”
As he expressed his astonishnt, suddenly, a strange noise was heard, the forming javelin flickered uncertainly, and then it dissipated into nothing.
Ying Zheng said, “I was too severely injured from the previous great battle, I need you to bring gold, a vast amount of gold! Also, the power of wishes, countless wishes, to repair the golden statue.”
