Chapter 36: Certain Death

Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

After death, the corpse would not rot, and those who gathered the Yin Qi of heaven and earth were called zombies.

It was a kind of revenant that was well-known among the people, but it was not easy to be ford. It could even be said to be sowhat difficult.

This was because they required constant nurturing.

The better they were nurtured, the fiercer the zombies would be!

The hundreds of zombies in the village were all black zombies.

Their bodies were dark and black, and their fingertips ended in three-inch-long sharp claws.

Two sharp fangs protruded from their lips, and so blood could be vaguely seen.

It was obvious that this group of zombies had been nurtured here by soone, and they had been raised quite well.

That brutal aura sent chills down the soldiers’ spines!

They were like little white rabbits that had been targeted by a ferocious beast.

“What’s going on? Weren’t we sent here to exterminate the bandits? Why are there zombies here?” One of the soldiers shouted in shock and anger.

“It’s as clear as day, isn’t it? We were sent here to be food. To put it bluntly, we’re fertilizer for rotten zombies.”

Su Mu’s eyes were cold as he voiced out everyone’s thoughts.

At that mont, a thick fog rose around the dilapidated village, isolating the five hundred soldiers from the outside world.

Needless to say, this Soul Trap was to prevent them from escaping.

They were leaving nothing to chance!

“What should we do?”

“Why are you doing this to us?”

“We’ve been betrayed! We’ve been betrayed!”

There was constant chaos in the team, and everyone was panicking.

Seeing this situation, Su Mu stood up.

“It’s useless to use words now. Follow and kill our way out!”

He pulled out his blade and charged toward the zombies.

Under Su Mu’s lead, many soldiers also pulled out their swords and joined the battle. They regained much of their morale.

However, in the face of absolute power, morale was not of much use.

The strength of these black zombies was extrely terrifying!

Almost every one of them had the strength of a second-rate warrior.

Su Mu’s sword danced wildly in his hand, and after much effort, he finally cut a black zombie into pieces.

However, as soon as he killed one, four or five more imdiately surrounded him.

Su Mu turned his head and saw that the battle was already a lost cause.

Not only were these black zombies as strong as second-rate martial artists, but they also had extrely tenacious vitality. It was difficult to kill them, unless they were chopped into pieces.

However, the black corpse’s body was tougher than cow skin soaked in oil. How could it get dismbered so easily?

In just a short while, half of the soldiers had died at the hands of the black corpse, and their blood had been completely sucked dry!

This terrifying scene scared the wits out of many soldiers, and they soon lost the will to fight.

In an instant, the ruined village was filled with screams.

Many soldiers cried and ran out of the village.

However, they could not get out of the thick fog at all. After making a detour, they returned to the village.

Then, in their panic, the zombies bit through their blood vessels and drank all their blood to death!

Su Mu was still fighting among the zombies.

He swung his blade and split open a black corpse’s head, then smashed another black corpse’s chest with a punch. The results of the battle were remarkable.

However, there were five black zombies surrounding him!

Even though Su Nu had retreated imdiately after the attack, one of them had scratched his arm, leaving several bloody marks.

The wounds caused by the black corpse’s claws quickly rotted and turned black, emitting a pungent sll.

It was corpse poison!

The intense poison made Su Mu’s head a little dizzy, and his vision was getting blurry.

The situation was extrely critical!

As the soldiers died one after another, many of the black zombies were freed up after having a full al.

After all the soldiers died, the zombies would all co for him.

Su Mu understood that this was already a situation of certain death.

All he had to do now was to turn this into a worthwhile death.

The only trump card he had was [Mad demon].

After this talent was activated, it would burn all of one’s life force for a short period of ti, and one’s combat power would be tripled!

However, after the explosion, he would welco death.

How could he maximize the value of this talent?

Su Mu thought of a rough plan as he retreated.

At the sa ti, outside the village.

The Black Armored Cavalry waited in formation.

“These ghostly things are so scary! Five hundred soldiers were gone, just like that.”

The leader of the Black Armored Cavalry felt his heart palpitate.

They were just a group of ordinary villagers, but under the hands of their master, they had actually beco such terrifying ghosts!

This was only what he saw and knew.

Who knew if these zombies could grow more powerful?

What was their master, the Beiling Prince, planning?

The leader of the Black Armored Cavalry shuddered and did not dare to continue down that train of thought.

He took a deep breath and quietly waited for the slaughter to end.

As ti passed, the screams in the village beca fewer and fewer until they completely disappeared.

It seed that everything had been settled.

“Let’s go. Let’s wrap things up with those poor sods.”

The leader of the Black Armored Cavalry ordered and led his subordinates to remove the array outside the village.

As the thick fog dispersed, corpses that had died a horrible death appeared in front of them.

These corpses were scattered all over the village. Their faces twisted, and their eyes filled with fear, unwillingness, and anger.

The strange thing was that there was not much of a bloody stench, even after so many people died.

Most of the blood had been sucked dry by the black zombies!

The leader of the Black Armored Cavalry shook the copper bell, and the black zombies, who had had their fill, staggered back into the pit.

Being bitten by a zombie didn’t an that one would beco a zombie.

Nurturing corpses required a specific field of knowledge.

Furthermore, it required many materials.

These soldiers killed by the black zombies would be thrown deep into the mountains to be eaten by wild beasts.

These poor soldiers had never thought that the true content of this mission was to make them food!

From blood to flesh, nothing was left.

After all the black zombies had laid back down, it was ti to deal with the corpses.

However, the leader of the Black Armored Cavalry was shocked to find three black zombies lying on the ground.

It was just slightly wriggling, looking a little strange.

“Eh? What’s going on?”

The leader of the Black Armored Cavalry found it strange.

He did not know if it was the bell in his hand or the three black zombies that had a problem.

There was a faint sense of danger.

He rang the bell again, but the three black zombies still did not get up and return to the corpse pit.

Helplessly, the leader of the Black Armored Cavalry brought a few of his subordinates and carefully approached, wanting to check what was going on.

However, while they were still more than ten ters between the two sides, a sudden change occurred!

“Bang!”

With a loud bang, the three black zombies were suddenly blasted away.

Then, a figure jumped out.

Those blood-red eyes were particularly eye-catching in the dark.

The owner of those eyes pounced toward the leader of the Black Armored Cavalry like a ferocious tiger.

As he pounced, the sll of blood hit them in the face, making them tremble with fear!

This person was Su Mu!

He knew that he was going to die. Moreover, he lacked the materials, so he could not turn into a zombie after death.

Zombies needed to be raised, and if they weren’t nurtured, they wouldn’t grow.

On the verge of death, Su Mu had thought of a solution.

Su Mu activated his talent [Mad demon], and his combat power was tripled.

However, he did not use the last of his strength to kill those black zombies.

These black zombies were originally ordinary villagers who were killed and refined into their current appearance. They were all victims.

The person Su Mu wanted to kill was the leader of the Black Armored Cavalry!

Therefore, he had used his explosive strength to pull back the three black zombies and covered himself.

He waited for the Black Armored Cavalry to co and clean up the ss!
