Deep within them, they were glad that he had changed for the better but they couldn’t help feel uneasy. His n knew how dangerous it was if Yu Chen beca lenient towards his n. They couldn’t help but worry that not punishing Jiang Min might trigger another betrayal in the future.
\"Is he going to return as a part of the main team?\" Gu Wei asked. The always mischievous guy was now wearing his rare serious face.
Gladly, Yu Chen seed to have understood everyone’s worry just by looking at his n’s faces. He glanced at Jiang Min again before he answered Gu Wei’s question.
\"No, he will beco the new caretaker of this mansion. His new job is to feed the wolves. Any more question?\"
Everyone was again speechless. The great skilled young hacker now being demoted as a wolf caretaker... sohow, this punishnt wasn’t that bad...
When no one complained anymore, Yu Chen’s gaze fell to the young man. \"Did you hear what I said?\" he asked, and Jiang Min finally nodded even though he still looked like he was in utter disbelief.
\"Good. You’re not allowed to step out of Scarlet Hill until I say so.\" Yu Chen then turned his back and walked away when the Jiang Min suddenly stopped him.
\"B-boss, I have sothing to say,\" he said in a hoarse voice causing Yu Chen to halt.
\"Say it.\"
\"A-about the accident... the people who blackmailed ... their target is actually Miss Luo, not you.\"
Yu Chen’s head snapped towards Jiang Min. \"What did you say? Why would they target her?\" he asked, his eyes now wide in shock.
\"I don’t know. All I know is that the people who want her dead is related to her. Before the attack, I managed to track the location of one of the phone call I received and it’s from the Luo residence.\"
Hearing Jiang Min’s explanation, Yu Chen’s carefree look a mont ago turned incredibly cold. He gritted his teeth as he shifted his gaze towards Gu Wei.
\"No wonder we couldn’t find the motive at all, sigh... you, punk! Why didn’t you tell us about this?!\" Gu Wei yelled at Jiang Min before calmly facing Yu Chen. \"Boss, what he said is true. The Luos wouldn’t dare try to kill you and they don’t have any motive to do that. But if their target really is Miss Luo, that’s a different story. We also believe that the sa person is the one behind the fire in Miss Luo’s apartnt.\"
Yu Chen’s already darkened face turned even darker after hearing Gu Wei’s explanation. His fists clenched into tight balls and killing intents uncontrollably oozed out from him.
\"Did you find out who it is?\"
\"Unfortunately, the person used a voice changer. We couldn’t find out who among her family mber is the culprit. Of course, we could roughly deduce who it was but... we don’t have any evidence.\"
Yu Chen shut his eyes closed as he took a deep breath. Finding out about this news made his heart beca unbelievably uneasy.
Gritting his teeth, Yu Chen left the old mansion with a sour and worried face. He imdiately gathered his n and ordered them to investigate further and find evidences.
After that, Yu Chen left Scarlet Hill and headed to Yu Empire’s headquarters.
\"Boss, I don’t think there’s no need for you to worry so much. Nothing happened to Miss Luo in this last four months while you were unconscious. There’s no attempt or anything. Maybe, that person gave up because they already failed twice.\" Gu Wei said but Yu Chen remained silent as his gaze was fixed outside the car’s window. He seed like he was thinking about sothing deep, sothing that only he could foresee or understand.
By the ti they reached the company, the employees were all startled upon seeing their old big boss. Yu Chen was rumored to be disabled so everyone was having mixed emotions when they saw him. Both gladness and worry were evident in their eyes. They were glad that he’s fine and kicking but they were also worried because their cold and ruthless boss was back.
Yu Chen went straight towards the CEO office. The first thing Yu Chen noticed as he walked towards the door was the presence of two female secretaries. He creased his brows the mont he slled their strong perfu but he chose to ignore them, they were the secretaries his wife had hired after all.
He and his n didn’t even ask and just went straight towards the door. Yu Chen then entered alone, however, what he saw inside was not his wife. It was Gu Jinyang.
\"Yu Chen.\" Gu Jinyang was obviously surprised.
\"Where’s Xiaolei?\"
\"She’s in Yun Corporation right now.\"
\"Yun... corporation?\"
\"Yes. CEO Yun is her partner in this huge project...\" As Gu Jinyang began to explain to him about the project Xiaolei was working on, Yu Chen just sat there listening to him with still sour face. He didn’t know why but his mood suddenly worsened the mont he heard about this CEO Yun. But he didn’t bother asking about the CEO Gu Jinyang was talking about. He instead asked Gu Jinyang to report to him the things that happen in the company during his absence.

The eting had just ended when Yun Jinhan invited Xiaolei for a coffee break. Xiaolei was determined to reject him but chairman Yun Zheng suddenly arrived and invited her as well. The three of them ended up in a fancy coffee shop until the old man eventually left them alone after just a few minutes sitting with them.
Yun Jinhan and Xiaolei continued their discussion about their project. Yun Jinhan had a really pleasant face and his smile was as always, charming. He’d been smiling like that to her since she arrived in his company despite Xiaolei’s indifferent treatnt towards him. \"I think we shouldn’t talk about the project while in a break.\" Yun Jinhan smiled and changed their topic. \"What do you do after work? I an, hobbies? He asked, looking at her with great interest.
Xiaolei silently sighed as she forced herself to answer him.
\"I write lyrics.\"
\"Wow, that’s impressive.\"
She shrugged.
\"I’m guessing that you like singing as well.\"
\"Yes. Music relieves stress.\"
\"That’s true. What kind of music do you like?\"
Sohow, now that Xiaolei was talking to him like he was just a new colleague, Xiaolei was surprised that her fear was slowly dissipating. Maybe because she had decided not to fear him anymore. She decided that this Yun Jinhan wasn’t the Yun Jinhan in her past and there was no reason for her to fear to him anymore.
This Yun Jinhan before her was exactly the sa as the kind and charming Yun Jinhan she t abroad in her past life. His harmless expression, his constant friendly smile and polite treatnt towards her was the sa. He was like this when they first t as well. As she looked at him, she started to rember the monts she spent with him. She didn’t like recalling those tis but it seed like it wasn’t easy to forget especially since this man wasn’t just soone she used to know. In her previous life, she was in a relationship with him for long six years and they both went through a lot.
It was hard to believe. Now that this man appeared in this second of life of hers, smiling at her like this again, she didn’t know why but she was feeling strange. Aside from fear, Xiaolei was feeling sothing else she herself couldn’t figure out.
