Chapter 112 Life threatening
Yu Chen couldn’t help but feel his face warming up again as his lips curved up into a beautiful smile. He was about to reply but he felt her body beco limp so he remained quiet for a while.
When he heard her slow and heavy breaths, Yu Chen was finally convinced that she had fallen asleep. He heaved a quiet, deep sigh before he gently kissed her hair. His eyes were dazzling again as he embraced her. His dark eyes began shining like never before, as if the dead stars in them were all slowly coming back to life.
At that mont, emotions were starting to appear in those previously unfathomable and impenetrable eyes. The lifeless, emotionless eyes were now nowhere to be seen. His eyes were suddenly filled with emotion, almost overflowing with them. It was almost as if he had been completely freed of his carefully cultivated façade.
"Please rember what you just said when you wake up." He then whispered in her ear. His voice sounded like a deep lody, almost as if he was uttering so kind of spell, as a smile played on the corner of his lips again.
And then he rose, carefully as ever. He seed to be afraid to wake her up because he thought she might start assaulting him again and he knew his willpower might not be strong enough to hold still again, if there was to be any kind of aftershock.
Thus, trying his very best not to wake her up, Yu Chen didn’t change her position and just cradled her in his arms like a small child. He stood still for a mont before he finally took a silent and slow step out of the veranda.
By the ti he was about to reach the stairs, he was halted by the sight of Chen Seiji carrying his also passed out wife like a princess. He also saw Yu Chen and walked towards him.
"Stay for the night. Your room is already prepared." He said and Yu Chen nodded at him before they both parted their ways.
When Yu Chen saw Luo Xiaolei extrely drunk, he had already considered the possibility that they would probably not be going ho that night. So the mont he saw how Luo Xiaolei acted when she was drunk, he finally decided to stay for the night. He didn’t know how he would explain to the twins if they saw their mommy acting out of character so he thought that this was the wisest choice to make.
Inside the presidential suite-like room that was prepared for them, Yu Chen imdiately walked towards the king-sized bed. He slowly bent and put Luo Xiaolei down.
However, the girl didn’t let go of him. Her grip on his neck was tight and her legs were wrapped around his waist.
Yu Chen tried to remove her hands off him but when the girl moaned, Yu Chen imdiately froze. And then...
"Yu Chen... I want you to be my best friend." She muttered, turning Yu Chen into a motionless rock. His brows knotted when he heard her words but when he saw that her eyes were still closed and that she seed to be sleep talking, Yu Chen felt relieved. He then waited for the girl to fall back to her deep stupor again before trying to gently peel her off him.
But his attempt hadn’t even started before he was forcefully pulled by her instead until he could only give in and lay beside her. She gripped him tight as if she was determined to keep him in her arms and her tenacity even when asleep like this, amused Yu Chen – if not for the fact that his little brother refused to calm down.
He never would have thought that the test was actually nowhere near the end just yet. He thought that it was over now that she had finally fallen asleep but he was utterly wrong.
And thus, that night... Yu Chen did not get any sleep. He waited and endured the torturous monts until he finally escaped her arms.
It was 3AM when he finally went and took a cold shower.
When he stepped out of the bathroom, Yu Chen sat by the bed watching her. He didn’t dare lay down beside her again because he now knew how dangerous it was to be alone with her. It was actually more than dangerous, it was extrely life threatening. So, after staring at her face for a long ti, Yu Chen kissed her forehead before he left the room.
He headed towards the veranda and unexpectedly, Chen Seiji was there.
Yu Chen then walked towards him and he sat on the sofa across him.
"What are you doing here? Bro Zaki said before that you don’t wake up early anymore when you are with your wife." Yu Chen casually said when the man he was talking to simply smiled.
"I knew you wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight and would eventually co out." He replied in-a-matter-of-fact tone and Yu Chen felt his ear burning slightly hot.
He averted his gaze and imdiately changed the subject. "How’s bro Zaki’s condition?" he asked and as he had expected, Chen Seiiji’s expression didn’t look good.
"The experint was going well but there’s a problem." Chen Seiji’s voice had instantly turned soft, almost pained, and Yu Chen could already tell that the problem was severe. But he didn’t ask anymore. He simply shifted his gaze back to him and spoke.
"I have sothing to propose about bro Zaki’s cure..." he began and Yu Chen imdiately looked at him in a serious and curious gaze.
But before Yu Chen could continue, he zipped his mouth, for the man they were talking about was now approaching them with a mischievous expression.
"Haha, I knew you both would be here." He said, sounding so amused as she jumped towards Yu Chen and put his arm around him. "So? How was the progress?" he grinned and Yu Chen sighed as he removed his arm off him.
"Hey, don’t be cold. At least share so good news with your concerned big bros!" he added, persistently. "C’mon, say sothing."
Yu Chen knew this mischievous man very well and knew he would never stop pestering him, so he gave in. Besides, he too sohow wanted to talk about sothing that had been bugging him.
"She said she really likes ." Yu Chen confessed shyly as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Ohh!! Good for you! Haha, I could tell how happy you are. No need to say it." Chen Zaki looked happy as he patted Yu Chen’s shoulder, like a father so proud of his son’s great achievent.
"But..." Yu Chen’s expression suddenly turned a bit confused, causing Zaki to stop smiling and to look at him curiously.
"But?"
"She... she said that she wanted to be her best friend. Although she was just sleep talking when she said that..."
Before the last syllable could even leave Yu Chen’s mouth, Zaki gasped and his eyes turned wide.
Oh my goodness!! She said she really liked him but then she said she wanted him to be her best friend?! Holy cow, Yu Chen! Did she just friendzone you?!!!
