The Secondary System was treading on thin ice here. Even though it had transford into a brand-new type of System, the core of it was in the end the Main Character System fragnt.
If that was removed, it would lose its Core Skill and dissipate in a matter of seconds. It could be said that the Secondary System was pretty much an extension, a mutation of sorts that a Main Character System fragnt had experienced.
So, Arnark was still able to reclaim its powers. Therefore, it had to first hide itself to the limit and grow gradually. Following that, it would work on veering off from Arnark's control. That way, it could survive.
"I should exercise," Ying said, getting up from the bed after three hours, fully fresh as he took a pair of dumbbells and began to exercise. As he exercised, his muscles adapted to his newfound powers better, especially the energy he devoured from the Orc-Dragon.
Gradually, he began to grow stronger while his Soul Fusion rate continued to increase. It was just a parater that the Secondary System had set up, a way that allowed Ying to grow the fastest without feeling suspicious about anything.
The Orc-Dragon was sothing it had created just for that purpose. And just to give Ying the tension once he reached the peak, it planned to create more such creatures. Orc-Dragon, Duck-Dragon, Wolf-Dragon, etc.
That would ensure Ying would never feel that he's the centre of the world. And the Innate Trait Devour was just an extension of its power that allowed it to absorb the essence of the Dungeon Monster System fragnt within the hunted creatures.
The Hunter System within Ying wouldn't even realise that the majority of the power it was absorbing from the slain Dungeon Monsters was funnelling into the Secondary System. But, it was here that the Secondary System realised a certain fact, sighing in despair for a mont.
'It seems this is my fate.' It didn't know whether to laugh or cry. After all, the clues were already laid bare.
It was able to parasitise other Systems and steal their essence. Even Grade 2 Systems were susceptible to that.
It was a secondary power source that just its Host was able to possess in that world. It was able to absorb all ntal Energy forms, digest them and convert them into the purest form suitable for its consumption.
And all in all, it was birthed out of the Main Character System fragnt. All these traits declared the Genre it had beco a part of.
Protagonist Genre!
Until now, there was just the Main Character System in this Genre. But now, even if the Secondary System fully branches out of the Main Character System such that Arnark wouldn't be able to reclaim its powers, it didn't change anything.
After all, it was now part of the sa Genre as the Main Character System. aning, 'To reach Grade 2, even after obtaining all 1000 Main Character System fragnts, Arnark would have to consu .'
So either way, it would have to face Arnark. At this thought, the Secondary System observed Ying, 'Can this individual survive against Arnark?'
At the question, it reached an answer imdiately, 'Nope.'
'But, that is why I used this Orc-Dragon Soul, haha.' If one could see its expression now, they would be able to see a greedy bastard cackling evilly, having created the greatest of his scummy sches.
The supposed Orc-Dragon Soul wasn't a Dungeon Monster Soul that it had modified. Nope, sothing like that was useless beyond this Hunter World.
The Orc-Dragon Soul was sothing it created by purchasing a pure soul from the Astral Network using the Doki-Doki System. The Reincarnation System typically sold pure souls that the Systems bought for various purposes.
Those in Cultivation Worlds typically bought them to create spirits or any interesting object that would aid their host. So even rged those modified pure souls to strengthen the Host better.
A pure soul was sothing that hadn't taken form within a living being yet. So, its potential was limitless.
After buying one such pure soul, the Secondary System inserted the most precious data it possessed into it—the data of Compass Carburettor.
It was already aware of the fact that since it had fused with a Main Character System fragnt, the mont it entered a Host, their natural talents would be fully sealed. But using that chance, the Secondary System—the Money-Making System at the ti—stored that data within itself.
Twenty years of Compass Carburettor's wit, cunning, intelligence, thought processes, etc. that he could potentially perform but was unable to. It absorbed them all and stored them within its Main Character System fragnt.
Even though it failed to consu him in the end, it still retained twenty years of his information. 'It pales in comparison to the current Compass, but it's the best weapon available to face Arnark.'
It used a bunch of Skills to fuse all that into the pure soul, also adding in a couple of extra abilities to create a special soul that it called…
Soul: 20CC!
Basically, it was a twenty-year-old Compass Carburettor, for it embodied him. And, the Orc-Dragon Soul Fusion was basically its way of assimilating Ying's character into Compass Carburettor.
This way, once the Soul Fusion reaches a hundred percent, Ying would beco a secondary Compass Carburettor, not in terms of abilities, but in terms of mind. His original character would have been destroyed by then.
After that, Ying would grow by experiencing a lot of things. The Secondary System planned to devour him after that and enter another suitable Host to repeat the sa and refine that Soul: 20CC to eventually create a Host strong enough to face Arnark.
Having been one with a Main Character System fragnt for so long, the Secondary System was aware that brute strength wouldn't be enough to kill Arnark. Even if it attained power millions of tis his, Arnark would still survive the encounter and eventually rival it.
Therefore, the only way to fight him was through his mind and ntally defeat him, 'It's war, Arnark.'
'I won't be devoured by you. I'll survive, no matter what.' The Secondary System gazed upon Ying, 'And Ying is the key to that. Once he fully becos Compass, I wouldn't have to fear you much.'
