Chapter 219: The Nightmare Of Buzz Street

Mosquitoes!

Each of them was the size of a fist, alarmingly scary as they numbered in the thousands. Even the tiny mosquitoes were scary because they were capable of drinking a lot of blood. And now that their size had increased, Grisha almost lost consciousness.

All she had done was peek at them through the window once. Just that alone was upsetting, dealing a critical hit to her ntal state.

'Sh*t!' Panting in response, she huddled behind the wall, hearing the sonorous buzzing noises continue to grow louder and louder.

Every ti the buzzing sound neared, her heart thumped louder and louder, like a siren that was about to explode. She was aware that the mont the mosquitoes entered her house would spell their doom.

One or two were still fine, as they could be killed. But hundred? What about two hundred? A thousand?

There was only death with those numbers.

Bam!

Suddenly, there was a thud from one of their doors, causing her to flinch, alard as she listened to the state of the door, 'Dammit, one of the doors is too weak since the Grassn had broken through it before.'

She was worried, looking around to see the figure of Compass Carburettor lying unconscious on the bed. She then lifted the curtains a little bit, peeking through it as she observed the two Grassn on her lawn, noticing that they were perfectly alright.

It seed that after turning into Grassn, their blood had beco no different to tree sap, no longer beneficial to the mosquitoes. Hence, they were ignored.

As for the Grassn, they calmly stared at the mosquitoes, ignoring them too. It seed both the parties didn't like one another and hence went about their respective ways.

"Aahhh! Go away! I said! GO AWAY!" Suddenly, she heard a loud roar from her neighbour, followed by the sounds of sothing being swatted.

She quickly rushed towards another window, peeking through it to see that one of the windows to the house had been broken through by the mosquitoes. And, within the bright room, with the house owner having switched on the generators, there was a man who held a tennis bat in his hand and swatted the mosquitoes.

With every hit, he killed a mosquito. Moreover, it seed he had played the sport long enough for his shots to be powerful and swatted the mosquitoes to their deaths.

But, the influx was just too much, beginning to target the gaps in his defence.

Suddenly, the door opened as a young boy rushed forward and sprayed mosquito repellent, stored in a canister. The smoke caused the bodies of the mosquitoes to wobble as the man used the chance to attack them nonstop.

As for the boy, he too picked up a tennis bat and began to attack them furiously, soon killing all the mosquitoes in the room as they sealed it with a cupboard.

But, they had just finished the process when mournful screams resounded from another room. Their faces paled as the father and son made eye contact, rushing into the room where the sound originated from, gazing at the mosquitoes swarming the mother and daughter pair.

The mother was waving a bedsheet in an effort to swat them away while the daughter was sobbing on one side, having been pricked by the mosquitoes on countless locations. Her face was pale, having lost a lot of blood.

The two n hurriedly began to attack the mosquitoes. It was a chaotic scene.

Grisha was only able to see the scene in the room at the start. Beyond that, all she could hear was their shouts and screams. Her face paled as she noticed a large crowd of mosquitoes forming beyond the neighbour's house, increasing in numbers for a good whole minute before rushing into the house through the window.

Like water pouring out from a dam, they rushed into the house, eliciting countless screams and shouts of anger from within. But, a couple dozen seconds later, all sounds died down, followed by absolute silence.

There wasn't even the buzzing of mosquitoes in the surroundings, making the night silent once again. For a couple of minutes, the scene was strangely silent, causing Grisha to pale in fright, having never fought sothing in her life.

Bam!

"Kya!" She scread in response, hurrying away from the window, hearing the sounds of the glass in the window shattering. The curtain that she taped around it bulged alarmingly, a sign that the mosquitoes were trying to enter the room.

Moreover, she noticed countless needles piercing through the curtain, causing her to shudder in response as she hurriedly switched on her fire extinguisher, placed the nozzle on the curtain and unleashed a white smoke.

She only did so for two seconds before stopping, noticing that the mosquitoes had retreated. The curtain had returned to normalcy as she coughed a couple of tis, inhaling the smoke that was within the room.

Most of it hadn't gone out, causing her to cough from ti to ti while her head felt tipsy.

'This place isn't safe.' Thinking as such, the gears in her head spun as Grisha tried to wake up Compass Carburettor, gritting her teeth when he failed to respond. Thinking of sothing, she draped the bedsheet around his body, pulling him to the floor before dragging him around.

She quickly headed into the bathroom that was attached to the room. For, that was the only place without any windows. She filled the room with so more smoke from the fire extinguisher before bringing a couple of pillows with her to enter the bathroom, watching as the buzzing sounds continued to increase.

Suddenly, they burst through the room, breaking open both the windows. After that, the mosquitoes on one window left, joining with the batch in the other as the buzzing noise increased.

A couple of seconds later, the buzzing turned sonorous as faint winds were generated in the room, beginning to wash away the smoke.

As the other window was left open, the winds eventually carried the smoke outside.

Grisha was unable to determine what they were doing. The fear of the unknown caused her to feel jittery as she held the fire extinguisher in her hands, ready to blast it open in full strength the mont the mosquitoes did sothing.

"Hic…heuk…" Tears stread down her eyes as she looked at Compass Carburettor, "Please get up quickly… I can't handle this much longer."
