Dear Diary,
These past few weeks, I've been having so weird thoughts again. So, I thought I should write them down… maybe that will help clear things up.
What is fate?
I asked Mom, and she told fate is "the will by which things co to be as they are, or events to happen as they do." It's this mysterious power that controls everything, a force that decides what happens in ways we can't prevent or change. But… what really is fate?
What truly is destiny?
So say destiny is not a matter of chance but a matter of choice; it's not sothing you wait for but sothing you strive for. Yet… is that really true? Or is it just wishful thinking? I wonder if I'll ever find the answer. But… deep down, I feel there's more to it than we've been told. Sothing beyond what we're ant to understand.
Are fate and destiny really two sides of the sa coin? Or are they intertwined in a way we can't see? I also read that destiny and fate are like two halves of a single coin, and free will is the edge that joins them. Fate is the inevitable endpoint, no matter what we do, while destiny is the various paths we might take to reach that end. Through our choices, we shape our destiny, but fate… fate is inevitable.
But… I don't believe it. I can't believe it. I don't know why, but whenever I think about fate, there's this heaviness in my chest. Is fate an actual entity? Or just so abstract concept?
And then there's another thought that's been creeping in…
What is reality? What is existence?
I feel silly even thinking these things, but I can't help it. I asked Mom about it once, but she got worried, so I did a bit of research on my own. They say reality is everything that exists… and existence is the state of being real. But how do we determine what's real? How do we know we're not missing sothing deeper?
Maybe… just maybe… reality and existence are like fate and destiny, connected in a way we can't yet comprehend.
Could it be that reality is fate and existence is destiny?
You know what…? I think I'll stop thinking about this for now. My head's starting to hurt.
"Erin!" Mom calls from downstairs.
"I'll be down in a sec!"
We're going on a surprise vacation, and Mom won't tell where. She's been oddly secretive, but I don't mind. Yet… there's this strange unease I can't shake. We're flying, and the weather's sunny, so there shouldn't be any problems, right? Maybe I'm just overthinking it…
…
"So, what you an is, no matter what I do, I can't change the outco?" I asked, feeling a hollow ache spreading within .
Maybe I was foolish to think I could. There's no saving Amael. There's no saving .
"I tried and failed," he said, his feet finally touching the… 'ground.' "But that doesn't an it's impossible."
"What are you saying?" I asked, watching as he moved past .
"You once said that 'impossibility is just a lie created to hinder attempts,' didn't you?.... Oh, I keep forgetting you are yet to rember," He stopped, turning back to look at .
"So… you're saying I should still hold onto hope?" I asked, walking to stand beside him.
"Well… it's a lot better than losing it entirely. Don't you think?" He chuckled, his eyes filled with a strange warmth.
"I couldn't fulfill my promise, but I've co to give you sothing that might just be the answer you've sought all along." As he spoke, a soft light began to glow around my neck.
"What… what is this?" I stamred, looking down to see a pendant forming there. "Is this… the Chronos Lock?" i asked in bewildernt.
"It holds all I've learned about ti," he said. "With my power imbued within, it might one day be able to change your fate."
"But… how?" I asked, my mind reeling. None of this aligned with what I knew of the ga. It shouldn't be this way.
"It's no coincidence that both your bloodline and blessing revolve around the concept of ti," he said with a knowing smile.
"Then… was it destined to happen?" I asked.
"No… it was made to happen."
"What do you an?" I asked, feeling as if he was dangling a key just out of reach.
"I may be the weaver," he murmured, his voice softer. "I may have twisted the tiline, but you—whether you rember it or not—you've done far more than I ever could."
"Huh?" I blinked, baffled.
"You just don't know it… yet."
And then…
Suddenly, I was back. I found myself in a dense forest, the familiar scent of moss and damp earth filling the air.
"The forest?" I muttered, still in shock.
"Yes. My ti here is short." He started to walk forward. "Follow ," he said, motioning for to join him.
"Wait… are you… dying?" I asked, noticing how his form seed to flicker, faint light tracing along his outline.
"No, not quite. I simply can't exist in this realm any longer. The fates, as well as the Goddess of Destiny, have discovered my interference."
I froze. "The Goddess?" I whispered, my voice barely audible.
Destiny… was an entity?
He walked in silence, that knowing smile never leaving his face. After a few monts, he stopped abruptly.
"Why are we stopping—?" I started, but my words caught in my throat as I saw the scene ahead of us.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
"Is… that…" I struggled to find words, but he spoke first.
"You?" he asked.
I nodded, speechless.
"Yes."
Ahead of us lay the scene I rembered too well—the one I saw just before losing consciousness. A shadowy hand held , dark swords piercing through my chest, and Ellie hovered nearby, suspended in a cloud of darkness, beside the architect of it all.
