Chapter 88: Chapter 88 – A Road Without rcy

With a light motion, I rose from the bed and stepped out of the room. My stride was steady and unwavering. My black gown fluttered lightly each ti my feet touched the cold stone floor of the corridor. My gaze was fixed forward, sweeping through each room I passed without pause.

Velthya, who was sitting at the dining table, imdiately noticed the change in . Her hand, which had been about to bring a piece of bread to her mouth, froze in mid-air, and her eyes locked onto .

"Good morning..." she said cautiously, though her voice carried a note of wariness.

I didn’t answer. I simply sat in the empty chair across from her and began to eat the breakfast that had already been served. Silently. My focus wasn’t on the food but on the thoughts spinning relentlessly in my head.

After we finished eating in a silence that felt suffocating, I looked at Velthya. "I’m going," I said softly but firmly.

Velthya imdiately straightened up. "Where? The world isn’t safe yet. Is this about—"

"I won’t answer," I cut her off curtly. "Because if I do... you’ll try to stop . And I don’t want to kill you."

Velthya’s face tightened. "What are you going to do, Sylvia?" she asked softly, almost a whisper.

I rose from my seat, standing gracefully but coldly. "I’m going to create chaos. Because only through chaos... can a path be opened."

Without waiting for a reply or her consent, I walked out of the house. Behind , following with calm steps, was the guild receptionist now a powerful werewolf zombie completely obedient to .

The morning sky was still clear, but my heart was like a storm about to erupt. My goal was clear. I had learned the location of the Guild Master’s ho from the zombie receptionist. And today, he would be mine.

A few minutes later, I stood in front of a large house with a military-style design, yet more grand and sturdy than any other building in the city. This was the residence of the Guild Master the place where the highest guild authority lived with his wife, known for her strength and courage.

I stared at the thick wooden door before . "Break it down," I ordered the werewolf receptionist.

Without needing a second command, he charged forward and shattered the front door with a powerful slam. The wood cracked and flew into the house, creating a deafening crash that echoed through the morning air.

Inside, the Guild Master, who was having breakfast with his wife, imdiately stood up. His eyes narrowed when he saw , and he slowly pulled his chair back.

"Sylvia...?" he murmured, his voice surprised but wary.

But I didn’t give him a chance to speak further. "Hold him," I ordered the werewolf zombie, and the creature lunged at the Guild Master with terrifying speed.

A fierce battle broke out.

The sounds of clashing bodies, thundering fists, and snarling claws filled the room. The Guild Master was strong his movents swift and seasoned. But the werewolf zombie under my command was nothing like before. He had evolved. My zombie poison had enhanced him, giving him strength that matched or even surpassed his opponent in endurance.

While the two clashed, I slowly walked toward the Guild Master’s wife a proud woman with silver-gray fur and eyes sharp like a hawk’s. She reached for a dagger at her waist, but I was faster.

My right hand gripped her shoulder. My claws touched her skin, and the zombie poison imdiately entered her body. She scread a wail of agony that echoed throughout the house. But it only took two minutes.

Because she was a werewolf, her body reacted quickly to the poison. She thrashed, trembled, then collapsed to her knees. Her sharp eyes began to dull, turning crimson like mine. And finally, she beca a zombie.

I glanced toward the Guild Master, still locked in combat. Of course, he realized what was happening, but he could do nothing to stop it. He didn’t even get the chance to see his wife one last ti as a human.

His zombified wife rose, growling softly. But when I ordered her to attack, she just stood still. Then... she bowed.

There was still... feeling?

Whether due to the strength of their love or sothing innate to their race, she didn’t imdiately beco a mindless zombie like the others. But that didn’t matter to . She was obedient enough. And now, I had another weapon.

"Help him now," I commanded.

The zombie woman walked toward her husband, still fighting, and joined the assault. The Guild Master didn’t resist. He rely stood still, staring at the woman he once loved, then looked at .

"I know... what you’re doing," he said softly, almost in a whisper.

I stared back, coldly. "I don’t need your understanding."

He lowered his head slowly.

And surrendered.

I stepped toward him, brushing aside the zombie receptionist and his wife. With one swift stab, my claw pierced his body. The poison began to work, though I knew it would take longer. Like before, lycans had high resistance.

He dropped to his knees, trembling. His body slowly transford. His teeth grew sharper, his eyes glowed red, his fur paled, and dark veins spread across his skin.

Then, finally, he stood.

And growled.

Now, he was a Rank 2 zombie.

His wife now a Rank 1 zombie stood beside him. The werewolf receptionist joined them. Three powerful zombies, once influential humans, now completely under my command.

They couldn’t speak, but I could feel their intentions. Even in silence, I knew the Guild Master understood my orders.

"We’re going to et the one behind this," I said.

He nodded.

I turned and walked out of the house. The three followed

in silence. Our goal was clear the lair of the mastermind, the lich, a forr mage of the Human Empire. If my guess was right, killing him would earn

a lot of EXP.

And as it turned out... the place wasn’t far. Only two hours away if we ran.

I could feel his aura from here. An powerful undead presence, waiting behind the hill.
