I Go to the High Seas for Fishing But Get Hunted by an Aircraft Carrier Chapter 828: GPS Offset?
"Well, you've got quite the comprehensive gear, but if that's the case, as long as there's water, I believe we should be able to carry on."
Speaking, he looked up and felt the weather becoming a bit hot. Ye Chen realized the sun was hanging high above his head.
Fortunately, where they were was a shaded area, so the sunlight hadn't fully penetrated, but you could still feel the heat pouring down.
Ye Chen stood up and pulled a telescope out of his backpack, glancing ahead.
Now that there were no trees blocking the view, they could see so things.
Before, due to the dense trees, even with the telescope, they couldn't see anything; all they saw were large trees.
"Hey, I see it, ahead it seems to be a patch of yellow land, and it's all yellow. Look, you can't see any trees ahead."
As he spoke, Ye Chen turned back and handed the telescope to Anying.
Anying took it and looked over carefully, indeed seeing the sa scene.
But since there was still so distance in between, and a few sparse trees were partially obstructing the view, it wasn't very clear.
"Looks like it's truly yellow land, but if that's the case, it seems there won't be much danger ahead, and our journey is fairly smooth."
"No, we've only reached halfway across this island, right?"
"The exact position, I'm not quite sure. While we have the ti, let use the GPS and positioning equipnt to determine approximately how far we are from the shore."
As he said this, he opened his backpack and took out all the equipnt inside.
Anying had placed a locator and so signal analyzers on the boat before they set out.
This ans they could compare the location from the boat and their current positioning to roughly determine their position and distance.
When she turned on the machine, she suddenly noticed a blue marker flash, indicating the signal was connected.
Then, Anying began to pinpoint their location. After about a minute, a red dot appeared, but she sensed the distance between them wasn't too far.
Using the equipnt, Anying asured roughly and found they had only traveled about 10 kiloters from their entry point.
"That's not right; they've been walking for about three hours, and given a human's normal pace, it shouldn't be such a short distance."
"Could it be that there's a deviation in our positioning, or is there so magnetic device on this island causing this discrepancy?"
Anying was mumbling quietly, but Ye Chen, sitting nearby, heard and quickly ca over, looking down at the screen displaying two red lights blinking.
Ye Chen wasn't sure what these two lights represented.
"What does this an, the lights?"
"Do you see the blue dot? That's the shoreline position, aning it's at the boat where we just disembarked. The red dot shows where we are now. I asured on the map and deduced the distance between the two points should be 10 kiloters."
"What? 10 kiloters? We've walked for nearly three hours already. Even if slowly, I estimate it would be about 20 kiloters. Why is it only showing 10 kiloters?"
"I don't know either. Could it really be a GPS system deviation?"
"Hmm, what's this?"
Just then, Ye Chen noticed sothing black on the machine, unclear about what it represented.
"Oh, it's likely a small hill or rock formation detectable here. Look."
He spoke while looking up toward the source of the anomaly. Noticing sothing, he quickly lowered his head to verify the map's points and looked again.
Ye Chen seed to have seen the issue and imdiately grabbed the telescope to look ahead. Sure enough, he spotted a small hill.
Though the hill was tiny and likely just a collection of stones built over the years, it was clearly visible.
"Ha, I think we got it wrong. The machine doesn't lie; on the map, there's a small hill to our left front, and I can see it with the telescope, which ans there's no deviation in our GPS system."
"Then why haven't we reached this location despite the long walk?"
"Perhaps we took so detours. Walking around doesn't always an covering the straight-line distance, so we've only cleared about 1/5 of the island."
"Man, 1/5 consud so much ti. If we continue, crossing through tonight seems impossible."
"It's okay, we prepared for this before coming. I think we should find a resting spot soon for the night."
