"What?! Eevee… can evolve now?!"
Gary's voice rose involuntarily, his usually composed deanor cracking for the first ti in a while.
At first glance, it sounded like good news.
But for Gary—
It wasn't that simple.
Eevee wasn't just any Pokémon.
It was a rare specin with quasi-legendary potential, a foundation that could one day rival even the strongest elite Pokémon. Every decision regarding its developnt mattered.
Every evolution path.
Every move.
Every ability.
If Eevee evolved into the wrong form—
It wouldn't just be a mistake.
It would be a massive loss.
On the other side of the screen, Professor Oak chuckled softly.
"Don't worry, Gary. Let explain."
Gary exhaled slowly, regaining his composure.
"…Go on."
"This is related to the Eevee you sent over so ti ago," Professor Oak began. "The one you obtained in Celadon City."
Gary blinked.
Then—
It clicked.
That Eevee…
Back when he was still challenging the Battle Frontier in Kanto, he had encountered a special Eevee—one with unusual adaptability. Afterward, he had entrusted it to Professor Oak for research.
And then—
He had forgotten about it.
"…It's already been months," Gary muttered.
Professor Oak nodded.
"Yes, and during that ti, Professor Blaine conducted extensive research. He successfully deciphered part of the technology originally developed by Team Rocket—technology designed to manipulate Eevee's evolutionary pathways."
Gary's eyes sharpened.
Team Rocket's tech… and Blaine managed to crack it?
That alone was impressive.
But what ca next—
Was even more shocking.
"He not only replicated it," Professor Oak continued, "but improved it. The system can now be used on your Eevee as well."
Gary leaned forward slightly.
"…What exactly does it do?"
Professor Oak smiled.
"It allows Eevee to switch between different evolutionary forms."
Silence.
Then—
"…What?"
"Currently," Professor Oak explained, "Eevee can switch between three evolutionary forms: Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon."
Gary's mind raced.
Water.
Electric.
Fire.
Three fundantally different combat styles.
Three complete shifts in typing, movepool, and battle strategy.
If used correctly—
This wasn't just versatility.
It was dominance.
"…Can it switch during battle?" Gary asked imdiately.
Professor Oak shook his head.
"Not freely."
Gary frowned slightly.
"There are limitations," Oak continued. "The system places a heavy burden on Eevee's body. After switching forms once, it needs ti to recover before it can evolve again."
"How long?"
"At least one hour."
Gary nodded slowly.
That was acceptable.
More than acceptable.
One transformation per battle… is already enough.
But there was another issue.
"…What about moves?" Gary asked. "Does it retain all its skills across forms?"
Professor Oak sighed.
"Not entirely."
Gary's expression turned serious.
"For example," Oak explained, "if Eevee evolves into Flareon, it cannot use Electric- or Water-type moves effectively. So moves beco unusable depending on the form."
Gary crossed his arms, thinking.
That made sense.
Each evolution had its own biological structure, its own elental alignnt.
Still—
Even with restrictions—
The system was overwhelmingly powerful.
Three fully evolved forms… in one Pokémon.
A slow smile ford on Gary's face.
"…That's more than enough."
Gary leaned back slightly.
"So… what does Professor Blaine want from ?"
Professor Oak chuckled.
"I knew you'd ask."
He adjusted his glasses.
"Blaine has nad the system the Multi-Attribute System. It's still in developnt, and while it functions, it isn't fully stable yet."
Gary narrowed his eyes.
"…So you need field data."
"Exactly."
Oak nodded.
"He wants you to use Eevee in real battles—switch forms, test its limits, gather combat data. That information will help refine the system."
Gary didn't hesitate.
"No problem."
This was exactly the kind of opportunity he needed.
To train.
To experint.
To push Eevee to its limits.
But then—
He paused.
"…What about the original Eevee?" he asked. "The one I entrusted to you… and its trainer?"
Professor Oak sighed.
"Ah…{Trainer na}." #Can soone tell which trainer they are talking about.
Gary nodded.
He rembered.
A young trainer who cared deeply about her Eevee.
"She's been calling constantly," Oak admitted, rubbing his forehead. "Every few days, asking about Eevee's condition."
Gary smiled faintly.
"That sounds like her."
"Don't worry," Oak continued. "Eevee is in perfect health now. I'll arrange for it to be returned to her soon."
"Please do," Gary said firmly.
That promise mattered.
Then—
"Alright," Professor Oak said, his tone brightening again. "I've already transferred the Multi-Attribute System into Eevee's held item slot. I'll send it over to you now."
At that mont—
"Eevee!"
A familiar voice rang out.
A small, brown figure popped into view on the screen.
"Eeevee!! (^▽^)"
Its eyes sparkled with excitent.
It had clearly heard everything.
Gary couldn't help but smile.
"…Long ti no see."
"Eevee!" it chirped happily, bouncing in place.
"Get ready," Gary said. "You're coming over."
"Eevee!!"
Reunion
Monts later—
The Poké Ball materialized in the transfer slot.
Gary retrieved it imdiately.
"…Let's see how much you've grown."
He pressed the button.
Flash.
"Eevee!!"
The small Pokémon leapt out instantly—
—and without hesitation, jumped straight onto Gary's shoulder.
Gary staggered slightly, then laughed.
"You're as energetic as ever."
"Eevee~!"
It rubbed its fluffy head against his cheek affectionately.
Warm.
Soft.
Alive.
Gary reached up, gently stroking its fur.
"…Let take a look."

Gary nodded slowly.
"No major changes…"
Eevee hadn't learned many new moves, but its level had increased steadily.
Which ant—
It had been training.
Consistently.
Diligently.
Gary smirked slightly.
"Looks like you've been working hard."
"Eevee!"
It puffed up proudly.
Of course it had.
I'm the strongest Eevee!
Gary chuckled.
"Good."
Then—
He reached into his bag.
"Let's take it a step further."
Gary began teaching Eevee new techniques—moves he had acquired during his journey.
Carefully.
thodically.
Each move chosen to complent multiple forms.
Each decision calculated.
Then—
He took out a Golden Crown.
Eevee tilted its head.
"Eevee?"
"This," Gary said quietly, "is going to push you to the next level."
He activated it.
A faint glow enveloped Eevee's body.
Its aura shifted—
Expanded—
Refined.
Gary watched closely.
When the light faded—
He exhaled.
"…Legendary-tier potential."
A slow smile spread across his face.
"Now you're ready."
"Eevee!!"
It barked excitedly, its tail wagging rapidly.
Gary looked at it thoughtfully.
Eevee now possessed multiple Abilities:
Anticipation (enhanced variant)AdaptabilityRun Away
Adaptability was excellent.
It amplified sa-type attack power significantly.
Run Away—
Less useful in battle.
But it guaranteed escape in wild encounters.
A situational advantage.
