Chapter 931: 930. Do not help her.

Lu Ban rembered clearly that when he first entered this room, surrounded by cabinets and filled with various collectibles and antiques, he had confird the environnt contained no other human or creature.

So now, where was the unmistakably human sobbing coming from behind that black safe?

Lu Ban recognized the voice; he and Shia exchanged glances, then approached the safe from both sides, one to the left and one to the right.

They saw a girl in a dress, sitting with her legs hugged to her chest, hidden among the various antiques and porcelain.

It was Red Leaf.

“Why are you here?”

Shia went up to help Red Leaf, but Lu Ban suddenly spoke up.

“Don’t touch her.”

“What’s wrong?”

Stopped by Lu Ban’s words, Shia looked at him, puzzled.

“Do you rember? When we first ca in, we checked this area and didn’t see anyone else.”

Lu Ban said, casting a glance at Cui Siter, who stayed cautious and refrained from any rash action.

“…You an this is fake?”

Shia took a half step back, staring at Red Leaf. The girl lifted her face, looked at Shia, then turned to Lu Ban.

“Liar.”

She spoke with a slightly reproachful tone, seemingly indifferent to what Lu Ban had said.

“How did you get here, and where is Amber?”

Lu Ban didn’t quite understand what Red Leaf was saying, so he asked.

“I was waiting in the room with Amber for you guys, but then I heard a bumping noise outside. Out of curiosity, I went to have a look, and I passed out. When I woke up, I was here in the dark—all alone and scared—so I started crying until… I saw you.”

As she spoke, Red Leaf sniffled.

Her story reminded Shia of sothing similar, and she involuntarily glanced at Lu Ban then at Cui Siter.

Red Leaf’s experience was so much like Cui Siter’s!

“Do you realize that you didn’t exist here just a mont ago?”

Lu Ban continued to question.

Red Leaf looked sowhat confused, like a cat that eagerly approaches a can, only to find it empty.

“Where… where am I now?”

Red Leaf looked around, only now realizing she was in the storage room below.

“We’re in the basent storage room; whatever was in the safe has disappeared.”

Lu Ban said.

Hearing his words, Red Leaf wiped her tears, slowly stood up, checked her surroundings again, and looked at Lu Ban.

“Amber is still in the room!”

Red Leaf spoke as if she’d just rembered sothing, eager to check on her friend’s condition.

“Wait, we’ve already confird—there’s no one in the room.”

Shia stopped Red Leaf, but as she touched her, she imdiately withdrew her hand.

“You’re burning up; are you sick?”

Shia moved her hand away and then placed it on Red Leaf’s forehead.

Intense heat radiated from her; it was clearly a high fever.

“I don’t know…”

Red Leaf’s eyes were dazed, her mind more occupied with the pressing concerns than her physical condition.

“Have you found the Amber?” Red Leaf suddenly asked again, unsure if it was her fever causing her ntal state to be abnormal, or if sothing unknown to Lu Ban and the others had happened, she beca sensitive and neurotic.

“We haven’t, we want to know what happened.” Cui Siter soothed and set down the cracked travel suitcase.

“You said you were in complete darkness just now, so did you hear anything, see anything?” Lu Ban inquired.

“I don’t know, I only rember you saying you would co back, but you never did, you lied to us.” Red Leaf stared at Lu Ban with a trace of resentnt.

“Uh, it must be a hallucination,” Lu Ban explained.

He had heard before that so girls would dream about a guy doing sothing wrong and upon waking would scold him, and if the guy countered that it was just a dream, they would bla his actions during the day for causing the dream at night.

Anyway, it’s like saying, even if I’m ninety-nine percent at fault, don’t you bear one percent?

However, given Red Leaf’s current condition, it was hard to tell if she had really encountered sothing.

Of course, Lu Ban also suspected that this Red Leaf might be fake, disguised by so kind of monster.

Then the question remained, what were these monsters, disguised as people close to Lu Ban, after?

Cui Siter now had no intention of harming Lu Ban and seed no different from the usual Old Cui.

It couldn’t be that The Dark One really couldn’t stand it anymore and decided to play a “everyone in the group is my alter” ga with Lu Ban.

Since they couldn’t tell for now, it was fine to treat her as the real Red Leaf.

Thud—

Suddenly, a banging sound ca from outside.

This sound was eerily familiar, causing Red Leaf to shudder abruptly, like a battle-hardened veteran with PTSD.

Lu Ban could clearly distinguish that this was the sa sound they had heard in the hotel before.

He gave Shia a look, signaling her to take care of Red Leaf, and he walked out of the storeroom with Cui Siter, each holding a flashlight.

The hallway lights had gone out at so point, plunging the entire villa into Silence, with only the moonlight outside illuminating, as if monsters lurked in every corner, and danger hid beneath each shadow.

Lu Ban turned on his flashlight, illuminating the villa.

He heard the noise coming from the direction of the main door and climbed the staircase towards it.

Cui Siter followed Lu Ban, ard with a flashlight and a swing stick, keeping watch behind them.

Approaching the door, Lu Ban heard the sound growing louder.

At the sa ti, the door trembled continuously, as if sothing was pounding on it furiously.

Lu Ban tried to peer through the crack in the door to see outside, but it was sealed tight, nothing like in the movies where you can see outside, so he moved to the window.

Outside, the parking lot’s streetlights had long been extinguished, leaving everything in darkness; the moonlight, blocked by clouds, cast the world into stillness.

Sothing seed to be outside; Lu Ban couldn’t see clearly and leaned closer to the window to get a better look.

Bang—

The next mont, a head collided with the window glass, separated from Lu Ban’s face by only a thin layer of glass.

Tentacles ending in eyeballs were pressing hard against the glass from the holes in that head, attempting to squeeze in through the cracks, and their squirming manner along with the movents of these monsters looked like disgusting giant bugs.

The clouds then drifted away, and moonlight once more lit up the earth.

Lu Ban saw that the entire parking lot—underneath the streetlights, below the cars, on the road—was teeming with those white creatures.

Hundreds, if not a thousand of these monsters were swarming towards the villa; the banging noises were the result of these creatures hitting the door, trying to break in.

Bang bang bang—

The glass made a noise, the creatures quickly made the windows shake as if they were about to break through any second, and completely take over the place.
