Chapter 876: 875. Discipline

anwhile, the sa fragnted whispers echoed by Lu Ban’s side, who had turned into a mass of flesh. Unlike the two young mbers of the Quicksand Council, however, Lu Ban could understand so of it.

The language was in utter chaos, but the general idea was clear.

The other party was condemning him for impersonating His na and threatening to bring down true divine punishnt.

Lu Ban didn’t care and even let out a taunt.

“Gurgle gurgle.”

That mass of flesh made such a sound.

Upon witnessing this, the two young mbers of the Quicksand Council were a bit puzzled, unsure of the aning behind this language.

“Do you think this is telling us to notify everyone else?”

“Could it be not to tell others? Just now, He said we must not look directly at the divine!”

And at the sa ti, so Pollution began to seep into the illusionary passageway.

On Lu Ban’s body, within that mass of flesh, a cyan-green substance began to spread, resembling the bacteria of a plague.

The two quickly lowered their heads again upon seeing it.

“This appearance, it must be the real [Heavenly Father]!”

The cyan-green traces, known as the “Holy Stigmata” to them, appeared on all believers of the [Heavenly Father]. The closer one was to the Divine Beings, the more prominent these marks would be.

But most people feared it, describing the condition as a “disease,” a “plague,” or a “fall from grace”; they didn’t know these were the gazes cast down by the deities, a gift bestowed.

Only those who truly accepted what the [Heavenly Father] offered could beco His chosen.

The Quicksand Council mbers wished to make Utopia great again and spread the faith of the [Heavenly Father] throughout this desert city.

They had no Saint and led brief lives, but once they accepted the gift of the [Heavenly Father], their fleeting lives were no longer an issue. With the help of the Holy Stigmata, they could live much longer.

This was one of the reasons why the Quicksand Council accepted the [Heavenly Father].

Life was brilliant yet epheral, and to these youngsters constantly facing death, survival was everything.

In a world like the Wasteland, there shouldn’t be just one form of life; any form of Corrosion and Mutation was worth it if it could persist.

They hadn’t co for just one Saint’s position.

They wanted to use the Saint’s governance to address the Wasteland’s lifespan issues.

After all, compared to a re Saint, the [Heavenly Father] was a true Divine Being!

To their surprise, the [Heavenly Father] had manifested!!!

Could it be that the genuine devotion had moved the deity?

“We’re not sure what we’re supposed to do now. Should we tell others about Your descent?”

A young mber of the Quicksand Council humbly asked.

“Of course, notify everyone you can.”

Lu Ban said with mock seriousness.

Monts later, six mbers of the Quicksand Council had gathered in the small underground room.

The one leading them was nad Lei Ting; his arm was adorned with rings of pale blue Crystals that seed to twinkle with electricity. He looked to be about twenty years old, which was considered old in the Wasteland.

He did not bear the cyan-green marks himself; it was unclear whether they were hidden under his clothing or for so other reason.

Lei Ting looked intently at Lu Ban, and a fervent zeal began to appear in his eyes.

“Our truly revered deity, what divine command do You have for us?”

He bowed his head, speaking respectfully.

“What have you all done to prepare for My descent?”

Lu Ban demanded in a lowered voice, and to appear more genuine, he squird slightly.

Co to think of it, Lu Ban was now like a virtual strear covered in a skin.

“We’ve arranged rituals in various parts of the city, ready to activate them on election day, to make all the city’s inhabitants Your believers.”

Lei Ting reported truthfully.

These kids were really audacious.

Lu Ban thought.

When the ti for the election ca, everyone would gather near the city square. It was during this ceremony that they would most likely spread the plague, from which no one could escape.

In an instant, Utopia would beco polluted, transford into a city of the [Heavenly Father].

Upon reflection, Lu Ban felt this was not a good idea and thus spoke up.

“Foolishness.”

A single rebuke caused everyone in the basent to tremble. They hastily lowered their heads, appearing even more servile.

“I… I don’t know what is improper?”

Lei Ting mustered his courage to inquire, lifting his eyes to see ripples emanating from the mass of flesh, as if it was seething with anger.

Lu Ban did not respond; he was also considering how to stop these people.

But quickly, before Lu Ban could speak again, Lei Ting realized the problem with his actions.

Even though they had exploited loopholes to dismantle the ritual and scatter it throughout Utopia, it was ultimately easy to discover.

Once soone noticed these ceremonies, all their efforts would co to nought!

Their preparations seed foolproof, but in reality, they were just overstepping acts of humanity.

How could the true Divine Beings need to rely on such thods to transform?

Wasn’t what they were doing a show of distrust in the [Heavenly Father], an unnecessary action?

“I… I understand now. I will remove these preparations imdiately.”

Lei Ting suddenly said.

“…”

Lu Ban was silent for a while.

Although he didn’t know what Lei Ting had understood, as long as the objective was achieved, that was enough.

“Trust in , chant my na.”

Lu Ban murmured.

Imdiately, the silent prayers to the [Heavenly Father] began in the basent one after another.

The space around them trembled once more.

As Lu Ban heard this, amidst the grumbling, he turned a shade greener.

“From this day forth, you shall abide by my commandnts.”

Lu Ban continued.

Everyone perked up their ears, listening intently, afraid of missing a single word.

“The first commandnt, wash your hands often, ventilate frequently, avoid crowded gatherings.”

The detached yet majestic voice echoed throughout the basent.

Hearing Lu Ban’s words, the crowd was montarily stunned.

Lei Ting pondered for a mont, his mind racing to find an answer.

These commandnts seed to stress personal hygiene, but they were actually of utmost importance.

It was well known that followers of the [Heavenly Father] would have Holy Stigmata appear to so degree, which were easy to spot, thus they covered themselves with thick coats to conceal it.

Frequent handwashing and ventilation referred to keeping oneself clean to avoid detection by others.

Avoiding crowds ant the sa, to hide well and clean up properly.

Only by doing so could they preserve their strength for the day the [Heavenly Father] would descend.

“I understand!”

Lei Ting responded first.

The others also nodded in agreent, even though they didn’t know what Lei Ting had understood, but since he had claid to comprehend, would it not seem foolish if they continued to look bewildered?

Seeing that they had all understood, Lu Ban went on to say.

“The second commandnt, perform more good deeds, go where people need you.”
