??Chapter 854: 853. The Na is Pollution

Chapter 854: 853. The Na is Pollution

“Don’t worry, as long as I am still here, it ans you’ll be safe.”

Feng Yu said this when she noticed Lu Ban lost in thought.

Lu Ban had heard such words before, and at the ti, he didn’t know why, but now, it seed perhaps Lu Ban’s future and Feng Yu’s past intersected in so way, so at least in Feng Yu’s mind, Lu Ban was safe for now.

“That’s good, when do we set off?”

Lu Ban asked.

“Anyti.”

Feng Yu responded.

Lu Ban didn’t make Feng Yu wait too long; he quickly packed up and then opened the panel to the Silent Lands.

[Would you like to enter the Silent Lands?]

[Yes/No]

After glancing at Feng Yu standing by his side, Lu Ban selected [Yes].

Suddenly, a Gale Wind arose in the room, sand whirling everywhere, obscuring visibility and blowing the house apart. Walls collapsed, and bricks spun in the tornado, an unprecedented fury that Lu Ban found sowhat extraordinary.

At that mont, a hand grabbed him.

Lu Ban looked beside him, where Feng Yu was holding his hand, carving out a slightly quieter path through the deep purple lightning of the tornado.

At the sa ti, the cold, indifferent words of the Silent Lands flashed before Lu Ban’s eyes.

[The flow of ti in the Foreign Domain differs from the main world]

[Heading to the Wilderness]

The storm quickly obscured his vision, but Feng Yu’s hand held him tightly. When he felt the storm subside and the surroundings quiet down, Lu Ban found himself standing in a sandy wasteland.

The sky was a clear blue, cloudless; ahead, under the sunlight, a majestic city rose up, shadowing the horizon.

Most of the city was made up of dark brick buildings, with no tall buildings except for a pyramid-like structure standing in the center.

Around the city, rchant convoys ridden by strange creatures passed continuously. The closer they got to the city, the more crowded it beca. It seed like the last spark of human civilization in the desert, shimring in the scorching mirages.

However, compared to when they first arrived at the Wilderness, Lu Ban felt this world definitely seed more prosperous.

“This is Utopia, the largest city-state in the Wilderness.”

Feng Yu pointed towards the city.

She had, unnoticed, changed into a desert-style dress and covered her hair with cloth.

Lu Ban, however, was still dressed in short sleeves.

The two moved towards the city, and Feng Yu began to explain as they walked.

“In the Wilderness, each city-state is a nation, each having its own Saint, or rather, the legacy of a Saint is fundantal to the establishnt of a city-state.”

“What exactly is a Saint?”

Lu Ban asked, his footwear ant for city walking sinking into the soft, sandy ground.

“In this Foreign Domain, Saints are also called ‘the Nad.’ So say it’s because most people in the Wilderness are naless, so being Nad allows them to beco Transcendent. But in fact, it’s the opposite; a Saint’s na is a power in itself.”

Feng Yu watched Lu Ban take off his shoes, pour a lot of sand out of them, and then put them back on before she continued speaking.

“Since Pollution is a form of knowledge, why can’t nas beco Pollution too?”

“Are you saying that these nas themselves possess power? But they are just nas from the myths and history of Earth, nothing special.”

Lu Ban tried thinking of the na Achilles inwardly, but nothing out of the ordinary happened.

If the na of an Ancient Overlord led to Pollution, Lu Ban would find it normal, but this was not the case now.

“In our mouths, so nas are not taboo, are they?”

Feng Yu glanced at Lu Ban.

“You think these nas are not Pollution because you have already adapted to them. However, for the Wasteland, these nas and the anings they represent are a considerable form of Pollution.”

At this point, Feng Yu stopped walking. Right now, they were on a sand dune, and beyond it lay a bustling desert market outside the oasis.

There were many more such oases scattered around the cities, and within the cities, there were small lakes and vast green fields.

“It’s like, do you think there were ever people with such nas in this world?”

Feng Yu said.

Lu Ban was taken aback.

Indeed, he knew about Utopia and Achilles, considering them perfectly normal nas, whose deeds were common knowledge.

But the Wasteland was a Foreign Domain.

In the history of the Wasteland, such saintly nas might not even exist.

Thus, the origins of these nas deserve scrutiny.

Perhaps they were knowledge spread by a Chosen by Gods when the Wasteland was just being rebuilt, or perhaps idle murmurs of so transcendent beings that inadvertently reached the people’s ears.

In any case, these nas, not originating from the Wasteland, had acquired power here. Their legends ford the foundation for the saints and also beca the cornerstone on which the city-states of the Wasteland were built.

All things considered, it was also a good thing.

Lu Ban struggled to say whether the Wasteland could have survived till now without the guidance of these saints and the establishnt of these city-states. At least, in a world that had beco apocalyptic, Extraordinary Powers were undeniably useful.

The two arrived at the city gates, where the guards didn’t conduct a very strict inspection. The city-states of the Wasteland were extrely far apart, and most of the people who managed to get here were traveling traders, traversing the sandswept Wasteland, exchanging specialties from different city-states and making a profit.

Entering the city and walking along its simple main street, Lu Ban saw low buildings and street vendors on either side.

The goods these vendors sold were pretty unusual, mostly canned goods, spoons, and other tal items, with occasional stone sculptures. As for food or clothes, they were almost nonexistent.

This made sense, as the Wasteland was fundantally in the desert, where resources were scarce. Aside from the relics from the previous era that explorers found in ruins, other supplies were likely uniformly distributed and there was no surplus food for sale.

On the roadside, soone was eating sothing from a battered tin can filled with a brown paste-like semi-solid; he drank it in one gulp, wiped his mouth, and looked quite satisfied.

Lu Ban rembered that one major food source in the Wasteland was insects, but now it seed there might be other crops too.

“Please support our Yellow Sand Brotherhood; Lord Iron Snake will lead us to good days!”

Lu Ban heard the call from not far away, and many people were gathering there. He and Feng Yu exchanged glances and followed.

In the center of the crowd, they found a few young n and a large pot, which contained the brown paste cooking. They were shouting while also distributing food to others, which is why the area was packed.

Thinking this, Lu Ban sohow produced a bowl from nowhere and joined in.
