Chapter 846: 845. What bad thoughts could Baobao possibly have?
Standing beneath that towering tree on Jiangcheng Mountain, Baobao looked up.
“It’s pretty big.”
She gave the tree a kick.
“Is it you, kid, stirring up trouble?”
In the distance, so scholars who were conducting research on the Divine Sakura shifted their gaze montarily, but they dismissed it as child’s play and didn’t pay much attention, returning to their discussions.
“Can you do sothing about this problem?”
Lu Ban asked.
He saw that from ti to ti, tourists would pass by the tree, and many of them had the sa face as Baobao, occasionally glancing this way.
“Is this a problem?”
Baobao tilted her head and countered.
“Having thousands of cute s, isn’t that a good thing?”
“Indeed.”
Lu Ban didn’t argue.
“But these copies of you seem to have so malice towards . Just now, they sent
flying, and, it seems they have caused so trouble for others too.”
He pulled out his phone, which displayed news about how so international organizations had been wiped out because of worshipping the Divine Sakura.
“You can eat whatever you want, but gods should not be worshipped recklessly.”
Baobao comnted.
“These people, facing the unknown, not only lacked a sense of awe but attempted to use it to assert their own claims. They deserve it.”
“Indeed.”
Lu Ban didn’t argue.
Discussing the right and wrong of matters with an avatar of an Outer God aligned with chaos was like arguing with a stranger on the internet— futile, not convincing, and a waste of ti.
Whatever Baobao says goes.
“But these copies have also attacked you, right?”
Lu Ban added.
“That’s true, but I’m not the type to be petty. A re assassination attempt is not worth pursuing against .”
Baobao puffed out her chest, catching the involuntary gaze of the scholars, who then quickly averted their eyes again and pretended to be imrsed in their discussions.
“What’s the deal with these copies, anyway?”
Seeing this, Lu Ban decided to change the way he asked.
“It’s quite simple, this tree originated from the Foreign Domain and carried Pollution with it. Coming to this world, it had to spread, and these copies are a manifestation of that spreading pollution,”
Baobao explained earnestly to Lu Ban, as if she were explaining why they had to eat eggplant for dinner tonight.
“And the intrinsic nature of Pollution makes them seek out nearby sources of pollution. When it cos to active sources of Pollution, besides , it would be you, right?”
“So those who worship the Divine Sakura provide an outlet for these pollutants, just like the group tied to the railway tracks in the trolley problem. One has to be eliminated, or else it would be you.”
Hearing Baobao’s explanation, Lu Ban felt it was acceptable.
The copies could be considered half the will of the Divine Sakura. If there were a powerful will to control them, then these copies could beco the assistants of the Divine Sakura. But now, with the Divine Sakura lacking a core, the diffused Pollution would beco like Baobao, wandering everywhere.
“So we just need to find a soul for the Divine Sakura?”
Lu Ban thought this was like a true flesh-and-blood computer. But he himself wasn’t into the whole sacrificial ritual, so where would he get a soul to stuff in there?
Should he borrow one from Baobao?
She had previously visited He Dao and could theoretically produce an avatar. Lu Ban wondered if he had just not noticed, or if Baobao simply hadn’t done so.
But on second thought, given Baobao’s character, she would probably beco a server with terrible attributes, frequently disconnecting and reconnecting, with high latency, and occasionally inserting so questionable ads.
Not quite suitable.
With that in mind, Lu Ban felt he was the most suitable candidate.
His fingers lted, dripping a puddle of flesh and blood.
The flesh writhed rapidly, rging into the Divine Sakura.
Soon, within the Divine Sakura, a figure of Lu Ban appeared.
This was a clone of Lu Ban, but unlike Baobao’s ability to spontaneously create avatars with independent wills, this clone was essentially still Lu Ban himself.
He used his own soul to temporarily fill the void of the Divine Sakura.
This was actually quite troubleso because the Divine Sakura served as a server in “Morning Star,” and needed to monitor the condition of each player, which was ntally taxing. But to Lu Ban, just an ordinary passionate citizen, dealing with so much was overwhelming.
But there was no choice, for he truly loved this world.
“You keep going like this, and the pollution will insidiously pass from your avatar to you. You’ll be subject to more and more pollution until you eventually mutate.”
Baobao comnted.
“So, will you help ?”
Lu Ban retorted.
“It’s not impossible.”
Baobao looked at the Divine Sakura with a playful glint in her eye.
“Forget it; I don’t want players to take off their helts one day and find out they all have your face.”
Lu Ban decisively refused.
“Wouldn’t that be even better?”
Baobao puffed up her cheeks as if quite angry.
“If you can’t handle it, I’m always here to welco you into my clan. At least with pollution, I could help you dissipate it.”
She added.
“That’s not necessary. I’m already ‘Chosen by Silence’, and switching faiths might just bring divine punishnt upon .”
Lu Ban reviewed himself to make sure he hadn’t committed any sins of pride.
“Ts ts.”
Baobao seed not to dwell on it; she tapped the Divine Sakura and heard a clear sound.
Good sound ans good wood.
“Are you planning to send those… um, players, to other Foreign Domains to gather knowledge?”
Baobao asked again.
“That’s the plan.”
Lu Ban glanced at Baobao.
“Any problem with that?”
“The pollution of those Foreign Domains will also be borne by your avatar. You’re quite selfless.”
Baobao’s mouth curled up at the corner.
“There’s no choice.”
Lu Ban replied.
“I’m not like you divine beings who are born as Divine Beings. To live a little longer and see more of this world, I can only do so.”
“If you eventually succeed and beco an Ancient Overlord, then I would be very happy to take you to see more truths of this world.”
Baobao said.
“However, I have an intuition that you might bring a completely different future to these Foreign Domains.”
“Can’t you guys travel through past and future? Why not just take a look?”
Lu Ban joked.
“That won’t do; for , spoilers are the lowest form of behavior. To maintain the greatest joy, I want to watch this story unfold from the sa perspective as you.”
Baobao said, suddenly inspired.
“I just had an interesting thought.”
“What?”
Lu Ban beca alert.
“You see, your players need to explore other Foreign Domains, and they’ll certainly encounter all sorts of dangers, so their exploration will undoubtedly be slow.”
Baobao explained.
“So, I could send my avatars to help your players with their exploration. That way, I could witness interesting journeys through the Foreign Domains firsthand and also protect the players. Isn’t that great?”
“?”
Lu Ban looked at Baobao, feeling there must be so catch.
“Don’t look at
like that. What bad intentions could little Baobao have?”
She blinked.
You’ve got plenty of bad intentions.
Lu Ban thought to himself.
